It is hard to tell if my stories are adventure wrapped around slice-of-life or slice-of-life wrapped around adventure. Far from hindering them, I feel there's a sense of realism generated from people living interesting everyday lives (I didn't say normal), then occasionally dealing with things like saving the world. Ask any soldier or firefighter what their life is like.
I'm of an opinion that if the character interactions and backstory are good enought, the adventure part could even happen in the background. I haven't tried writing that, though.
The gender issues in my current story are highlighted almost entirely during the interludes between the action and adventure sequences because when you have to deal with problems, things like who you are and how you relate to the world take a back burner. However, how you deal with problems definitely reflects back on who you are the rest of the time.

With First Mechanical Qubit, Quantum Computing Goes Steampunk
An anonymous reader quotes a report from Science Magazine: Qubits, the strange devices at the heart of a quantum computer that can be set to 0, 1, or both at once, could hardly be more different from the mechanical clockwork used in the earliest computers. Today, most quantum computers rely on qubits made out of tiny circuits of superconducting metal, individual ions, photons, or other things. But now, physicists have made a working qubit from a tiny, moving machine, an advance that echoes back to the early 20th century when the first computers employed mechanical switches. "For many years, people were thinking it would be impossible to make a qubit from a mechanical system," says Adrian Bachtold, a condensed matter physicist at the Institute of Photonic Sciences who was not involved in the work, published today in Science. Stephan Durr, a quantum physicist at the Max Planck Institute for Quantum Optics, says the result "puts a new system on the map," which could be used in other experiments—and perhaps to probe the interface of quantum mechanics and gravity. The new mechanical qubit is unlikely to run more mature competition off the field any time soon. Its fidelity -- a measure of how well experimenters can set the state they desire -- is just 60%, compared with greater than 99% for the best qubits. For that reason, "it's an advance in principle," Bachtold says. But Durr notes that a mechanical qubit might serve as a supersensitive probe of forces, such as gravity, that don't affect other qubits. And ETHZ researchers hope to take their demonstration a step further by using two mechanical qubits to perform simple logical operations. "That's what Igor is working on now," [says Yiwen Chu, a physicist at ETH Zurich]. If they succeed, the physical switches of the very first computers will have made a tiny comeback.

Use women if u want kids, do it through a surrogate, and stay away from 3D women otherwise. They are not worth it. They will never be untill they are willing to get on thier hands and knees, revoke thier own "rights" and put on the leash and collar; and they are lucky I say that's enough. Had it my way they would be replaced fully with artificial wombs, ai, and sex bots. But I know most of my fellow men that that's too extreme, so pet status is far enough.
Tho personal I still would choose a female even if they were demoted to pet. I know to much. I am incapable of feeling affection or genuine attraction for them outside the pure lizard brain lust of the physical flesh sort. Give me a sec bot with an ai I can program to simulate a waifu over the fake and deceptive flesh bag that will only play nice untill she figures out how to put a knife in my ribs (literally and metaphorically) or charms another man to do it for her.

With Cursor it's the first time I can see using it as a key part of my workflow, where with ChatGPT or Copilot or Cody it was more of a hassle and not pleasant.
I think it's because the thing I changed, Cursor got it bang on in the first try, and that included creating a client-side Svelte component (html/css/javascript/svelte) plus the server-side data fetching and handling, plus the library code, plus db schema changes, all with one prompt.
