@nprofile…v2ca yeah, I don't think it can be or makes imo sense. (monero has privacy, but transactions are much more expensive)
but I am totally with you. Users have a problem thinking about an asset. So I think denomination can be easily in fiat.
In your setup the podcaster does not need to care about bitcoin, do they? You enable them.

And it would become impossible to send from player X to hoster Y.
imo then we can also just try to incorporate paypal or use card payments as it only works in the closed same system anyway.

@nprofile…v2ca I think the solution to that can only be pricing in what the user likes to price their stuff in.
Bitcoin and Lighting is the lingua franca to transfer it.
Let the user choose to define a $ value and stream that.
I don't think using another asset (imo a shitcoin) would help on that - the price still fluctuates there.

It's important for us to support the boosts and zaps and all those V4V payments.
Sadly this means we have to currently require invite codes but we keep the podcast apps as much open as possible.
We also push NWC as an open, easy wallet connection standard. more details on this soon.

Which API tokens are you talking about here?
Is your app updating the access and refresh tokens?
The access token expires after 2h and the refresh token after 30 days. You must get a new one or authorize the app again.

sorry if we caused some confusion.
And yes, Alby is made for boosts and zaps and all these exciting things that we can do. But it's not a savings wallet where you should have bigger amounts.
If you make a decent amount then regularly withdraw the funds to some savings storage.
(We're also working on solutions for bigger accounts, but we're not there, yet)

We're not optimized for some other usecases (like people rebalancing nodes or big trading)
If you receive big baller boosts then that's great!!
We want to remind users then that they should keep those sats not on a spending account but put it in a savings wallet.

We do our very best 24/7, but downtimes will happen. as a small team we can not make guarantees, but our track record is pretty good so far. ;)
keysend payments have also the issue that it is hard to add redundancy (as they depend on that single node key).
we are part of proposals to update this.

would it actually be possible to add the value recipients in an ID3 tag in the MP3? isn't there even a PaymentURL ID3 tag - which could point to an URL containing the splits. #[0] #[1]
