Submarine Survivor looks like my kind of game-- chaos, underwater combat, etc. It's on Steam already (https://store.steampowered.com/app/3030290/Submarine_Survivor) and has a free demo there.

I use On the Border chips and put refried beans, cooked beefless ground (vegetarian, cooked with diced garlic in a pan for a few minutes with salt, taco seasoning) & on top melt cheddar, some kind of white cheese (tonight had pepper jack, and queso) all for like a minute or so in the microwave. Then, 2 avocados made into guac with 2 lemons, salt, spices etc. That goes on at the end, with chopped black olives, sour cream, and finally drizzled with Taco Bell mild sauce for wifey, and hot for me. 🔥

I'm from the east coast, grew up mostly in Maryland, but moved out here with an ex. My kid is here. But yeah, the heat is horrible. Just awful. The winters aren't long or cool enough. But some really nice days like now. I know other places are dealing with a TON of snow and stuff. I remember that from east coast. I was in New Hampshire too. I do miss Maine. Haha

Definitely Motorhead and a little thrash in there too. Some of the only true heavy metal I like. Not growl vocals though. Trying to think of a good starting album.. KRASH are from Saskatoon and these Canadians are PISSED OFF. 'Nothing is Sacred' is a GREAT fuckin d-beat punk record to end out 2024. It rips through all eight of these tracks and never lets up.

I wrote another post this year where I analyzed and broke down my music finding process as I've done it in a changing way for like 30 some years now, it's mostly Bandcamp, a tiny bit of Instagram or YouTube. And people here. Plus, I check any metal or indie (or any, really) end of year lists I find for gems, and often find them. Still can't get over Clairo this year. LAST minute entry on mine.

Interesting Wired piece by @nprofile…2mj9 on getting things done and why we don't always. I used to keep a to-do list and I stopped. I used to use Workflowy and Remember the Milk for lists (both okay). But now, my email inbox is my to-do list for essential things. I'll write a tiny, brief to-do list on paper if there's a couple things I need to remember or do that day, but that's it. I don't keep a running one anymore. I don't find it useful.

But when I rewatch random episodes, lately the earliest I like to start is with the season 7 episode 'Two Bad Neighbors'. I just LOVE to see Homer and Bart dunking on George W. Bush. I'm a Meat Puppets fanatic, seen em multiple times, love stuff from all the albums. But only a few of their records I find perfect. I'm not big on their super early stuff. Bits and pieces.
I dig 'Monsters' from 1989 fully, but it's not an 'anytime' kind of record for me. So the first Meat Puppets record I find perfect - an 'anytime' album - is 1991's 'Forbidden Places'.
Has some real alt-country on this one. From the first seconds and minutes of "Sam" - I mean, they still play this live. It is WILD. They Might Be Giants covered "Whirlpool". This album is rad, man. From the title track, "No Longer Gone" (which was my username on Twitter for many years) 🤣 to the title track, just legendary. Underrated?

Ok, the ones currently on my phone are Pocket Rogue, Pokemon TCG mobile, all 3 touch mushroom garden (Nameko) games that I've been crazy about for a while 😂 plus Quest of Dungeons (always a favorite), Space Invaders World Defense (I need to play this more, it's AR and the ships appear outside!), and My Singing Monsters, which is basically because my kid is into it.
Oh, and a new one I still need to try, Lucky Defense.
Now I wanna know what ones are on your phones 😂

@nprofile…45ny @nprofile…mmy9 I only like a couple, they usually either don't have ads or the ads aren't too intrusive. And I don't pay for anything, so it's gotta be playable free. So that really thins out the mobile game playing field 😂😂

@nprofile…tc60 ha! For real. I guess I'm always logged into YT on my phone's Firefox, which is how I'd often use it to check a link. I used to use it a bunch via computer with adblocks etc - it's totally unusable with all the ads. And I'll never give Google a dime to get rid of that haha

@nprofile…tc60 I mean, if I logged in, the videos would be more relevant. But yeah, this was totally not logged in, via incognito browser which I'm often using. And there was just SO MUCH bizarre stuff. And not really like, GOOD bizarre. hahaha
