Since almost no-one seems to hashtag US politics posts, I'm wondering whether I should stay committed to adding the #USpol hashtag to every post I write on that topic.

Every so often I'm surprised to notice that Huffington Post still exists – much the way I used to be surprised to discover that Yahoo still exists. These things live on forever somehow, don't they? I assume MySpace is still around too.

Jeez Kindle prices have really shot up. Just looked up a new non-fiction ebook and it costs US$20! Too much. It's not the same as owning a physical book after all, you don't even technically own it - so I don't think it should cost as much.

This is why I try to do fewer, longer trips, with no air travel once I'm on the ground in another continent. My six week trip in Europe this year involved 20 trains after I arrived on the ground in Lisbon.

@npub1y04…cm6q @npub1djv…74n2 Good point. Here in Melbourne the public transport now runs 24 hours over Friday and Saturday nights. Costs a fair bit, but there's a huge social benefit – including casual workers getting to and from their jobs safely.
