This is what I always try to explain to my mom because she says the main reason she refuses to use Bitcoin is because it's not FDIC-insured or insured by a bank in the event she loses funds.
1. You don't own the private keys to your bitcoins. Lightning Network wallets are also privately-owned and can choose to ban you from their services at any time for any reason, taking back the funds.
2. The use of Lightning itself is a third-party between the sender and receiver that is used for faster transactions.
3. While Lightning Bitcoin addresses may be more challenging to track, since the third party that is the Lightning wallet providers can see the transaction histories for each user, this means that tracking BTC addresses is obsolete anyways.
4. Since Lightning wallets are often paired with Nostr users, this makes linkability easy between users, not to mention that many Nostr users do not hide their identities on the protocol.
Might be a good idea to look into arbitration.

I don't think having financial institutions spying on transactions for wallets you don't even own the keys to is an improvement in privacy.
There's a good reason why I'm so picky when it comes to cryptocurrency, and that's because I want coins that are unique and don't just copy one another.
Bitcoin is like digital gold in the way that it has always been considered very valuable and limited. It can be spent, but this is not recommended for this reason, much like how most people don't spend gold IRL.
Ethereum, with as many flaws as it has, is the closest to a digital infrastructure due to the capacity to be used for so many things, such as decentralized domains, smart contracts, and DAOs, which in turn can be very beneficial for various purposes, such as arbitration and governance.
Monero is essentially digital cash because it is untraceable by default and does not have the concern regarding fungibility that BTC or ETH have. It is also not limited like BTC is.
These are the reasons why I can have interest in these three coins. If you're going to create your own crypto, then you need to try something that has not been done before. This is why I find it challenging to use something like Dogecoin because it is not innovative enough IMHO. I want assets that do something that has never really been done before.
A lot of people think that I flip-flop on BTC and XMR, but that's not the case. I use both of them, albeit for different reasons. BTC for long-term savings, XMR for short-term savings and spending. Compartmentalization and diversification are key if you want to survive as a cypherpunk, and that is exactly what I'm doing.
I don't do crypto with the aims of getting rich, I do it to benefit my community.

Overtargeting is a communication strategy that political parties use to ensure the target population complies.
During COVID, governments required universal vaccination, even though the primary benefits (preventing ER visits) were for elders and the immunocompromised. The goal was to make elders think, "If even healthy people need this, I better get mine quickly." This tactic worked and probably did saved lives (we will never know), but at the cost of widespread distrust in vaccine recommendations.
The Trump administration is doing the same with immigrants. By overtargeting — jailing and deporting people for saying the wrong thing (and tattoos) — they get everybody else to fear for their actions and fall in line, regardless of whether they have done anything wrong or not. It's the same story all over again.
Overtargeting is a lie. And just like any lie, it exchanges short-term results for long-term trust. Once you break that trust, there is no easy way back.
Personally, I don't feel very safe criticizing the administration right now — a feeling I never thought possible in this country.

I get why you're backing Musk completely, and I will say I do have a small amount of respect for all the wasted taxpayers' money being exposed. However, I still understand that at the end of the day, Musk is still on the side of the State, so I always have to have some sort of doubt about his intentions, not to mention his support for the mRNA technology in the COVID gene therapies and his Neuralink affiliation. Elon is still CEO of Tesla, so I still have high expectations I put on him for that.
If DOGE was founded during the Obama or Biden Administration I would still be equally as suspect.
This may be the greatest crackpot theory I've came up with, what if the Articles of Confederation are actually still law today?
Apparently both the U.S Constitution and the Articles are considered organic law, meaning they serve as the foundation for all U.S law.
Apparently the words "citizen" and "employee" are synonymous to each other, as proven by 26 USC 3401(c)[1] and a statement by Obama where he said "citizen" was the highest title.[2][3]
Furthermore, the word "State" is defined to include D.C[4] and any territory or possession of the United States.[5] The Buck Act, in particular created a concept known as the "federal zone" and the concept of proper noun States, where D.C effectively created a paper overlay over the 50 states of the Union.[6] Finally, only government employees/citizens are allowed to be in D.C.[7]
So what if the U.S Constitution actually applies only to U.S citizens and the Articles of Confederation applies to common noun state citizens and state nationals? After all, it wouldn't make sense for a non-employee to be eligible for a position like the Board of Directors (Congress) or the CEO (president).

I'm not diabetic myself but the rest of my family is so I'm sure everyone would benefit from it. I'm a bit worried about my blood sugar tho.
I think Allulose has been around for at least six years. I discovered actual uses cases for it back in 2019 which is when I started using it, but I know people were using it in liquid form adding it to their coffee and tea, going back to at least a year prior.
I've found that the best way to buy it is in bulk, at either the brand's website or through sites like Netrition.com or Amazon. Another thing to note is that while there are many brands of Allulose powder, as long as the ingredients list states 100% Allulose and nothing else, you can get the right size or price that works best for you -- the brand won't matter, since it's all sourced from one company called Tate & Lyle. Brands I've liked most: Fitlane, MicroIngredients, and G-Sweetz. I personally don't trust the Allulose sold by Splenda, since they've been known to add Maltodextrin and dextrose to their products.

Lots of companies (and home cooks) add sugar to jerky because it adds a little tenderness to the jerky and offers flexibility so it's not dry and crumbly.
As a diabetic, I personally don't want store-bought jerky because it's got too much sugar in it, so I started making my own, using Allulose.
Allulose is a natural sugar substitute derived from figs and sometimes corn, and offers the textural quality to my jerky that sugar would, but Allulose isn't treated like sugar in the body. In fact, since it's a natural way to upregulate GLP-1, it can help with glucose tolerance and in many cases, actually lower blood glucose, so for these reasons, diabetics may prefer Allulose to other sugar substitutes. If you are not interested in this sort of thing, my jerky probably isn't for you.

I agree! But a shocking number of nostr users I talk to are not aware of that and assume that nostr is either private and or somehow their npub (that they cross verify with kyc platforms themselves) will magically protect them from censorship, targeting, or coercion.

Images dont load directly from the relay. They are mostly just texting URLs embedded in the note, which are still being fetched through tor. Then Amethyst would fetch the image outside of tor after. If you fetched the images through tor it would likely be slower.
