monero txs are slightly bigger in size than a btc tx, but a monero tx is smaller and more space efficient than a btc coinjoin so you end up paying less in fees and having less blockchain bloat for greater privacy, mining was solved with the creation of randomx in 2019 so no need to keep up, the State needs to control 51% of all CPUs that exist in people's houses, and also the creation and sale of new CPUs that enter the market very rapidly, versus controlling some big mining farms in a single place in BTC, or the creation and sale of ASICs which take months to develop and deliver

And when you are running the site the content is whatever you pull from relays that you set from settings, so as long as clients are following the nostr standard the client app could use "topics" just as a starting point for you to already have content in it but then you're free to explore whenever

Yep we see the evolution of the world and how internet culture evolved in that time. But it's interesting how the platforms now seem to allow this kind of content to stay up, like that song says "aryan classic" in the title, and those are gaining lots of views, I can't tell if they are simply changing their policies or for them it's become a lost battle if so many people have been feeling the same way? 🤔 but I wouldn't trust their change of heart, seems like a trap for those people posting and sharing still on the same platforms (youtube, X, instagram, etc)

After someone is monero-pilled they hardly go back into the matrix, the only way they could consider something else would be wide adoption i.e. they live in a real Bitcoin country, one that did it right unlike El Salvador, and they need it for all expenses so they'd also end up saving some. Otherwise at the current metrics you can spend XMR at pretty much the same places as BTC, or if a vendor doesn't take XMR directly there's always alternative shops that do

I kind of already do that, you can use accounts and subaccounts instead of separate wallets since the balance is separate either way, so I have account 0 (primary) for personal addresses I leave out there like bio, github, whatever, can easily track them, then account 1 I call it "exchanges", every time I make an exchange I create a new address, it's good to have a load of addresses separate from my main ones so I have hundreds and I don't need to organize them, then I swap funds to the primary wallet when needed

Hoje a adoção é apenas por entusiastas, como encontra aqui no nostr e no espaço cripto, mas não consegue ainda sair por ai usando apenas btc ou crypto, em nenhum lugar, nem mesmo em El Salvador como foi publicado em um vídeo recentemente. As pessoas simplesmente não sabem como usar ou pra que elas devem se importar
Tudo isso pode ter vários fatores mas é fato que se for apresentado algo realmente eficaz pras pessoas e fácil de usar, talvez seria diferente. A LN infelizmente não resolveu esse problema (ela que também já existe desde 2017 e não tem como melhorar muito além de como já é)

what's funny is XMR has been appreciating versus BTC ever since november 15th, about the same date when BTC broke 90k USD for the first time
Imagine having a digital gold, getting Trump elected and in support of BTC, it is also being pushed for global strategic reserve everywhere, hoarded in the billions by corporations like MSTR, governments like El Salvador, and in the same timeframe all of this is happening, it's going down to a niche dark web coin that is delisted from all exchanges :kek:

You chart literally shows txs falling of a cliff. Blocks are empty. Real world businesses data shows lightning struggles to make 1% of total volume, while XMR leads at 50%.
XMR charts continues increasing, never falling for all its history, exchanges keep delisting and it remains unaffected, we have our own rails, xmrbazaar, haveno, and more coming, the spam attack resolved itself because of the cost, nothing was ever fucked up, XMR users remain unaffected, next upgrade reduces even further the incentives of an attack, next upgrade brings LN to monero, etc...
What I see is many reasons why btc is failing, and on the other side many reasons why XMR is succeeding

Of course the mkt cap is a nonsense metric, otherwise if monero was 10% of btc like it does in tx count, 1 XMR would be worth 10k USD but now it's at almost 250 usd...

It all comes down to game theory and indeed asic mining works since there's incentives and the cost to run at play the problem is when the state intervenes, i.e. China was number one until it was banned, it would be much more decentralized by now if not but nowadays the incentive is for blocks to be made in the US™ and that sets a dangerous precedent, meanwhile on Monero it's harder to ban and easier to run from anywhere but also like you said brings the question of how easy it is to spun up the 51% needed of CPUs
Mining is probably one of those things we'll never know the real answer to since to know what's most resilient we have to wait the a very powerful force to attack it but it could never happen, or like some bitcoiners say the state will stop existing and those problems won't exist anymore, who knows

I don't see it as a "give away your coins" or "pick what's better to use and throw it away" like fiat, since the users in those markets are given the option of paying in any other crypto, they could be using Litecoin which is even in most mainstream exchanges and has easier access for all, and it also has "mweb" as a privacy feature, they could be using USDT on the Tron network, which is also common in those places like Argentina, so the question becomes: where is everyone getting their Monero from? and why using it exclusively?
But again if this is good or bad is indeed a different debate this is mostly because I've seen bitcoiners say LN is private because you can't tell how many payments are happening, and real world usage data show exactly that: how much it is being used for real world commerce, where money actually is worth and traded instead of being used for micro-cent tipping or sending back to yourself back and forth for no purpose

XMR users can shop anywhere using an instant swap exchange where they send XMR and the other end receives another coin, this is just a pattern that keeps repeating, the whole crypto and even bitcoin itself is still a niche in the clearnet unless you live in El Salvador so always that a new merchants appears the data is always similar with XMR at the top
plus more merchants would actually increase it even further since the current XMR users would have more places to shop, and new users could learn about XMR and have plenty of options to use it

The latest trend among bitcoineirs is asking monerobros how many transactions happen on LN or "give me a LN transaction", the issue there is of course no one can tell if there is a script kid sending millions of LN payments back and forth to itself, making this a useless debate that does not measure any meaningful economic activity, nor its privacy.
What you can do on the other hand, is actually provide them real world data of real economic activity, which we do have, like shopinbit's latest volume data:

You can easily see that Monero :default: takes the lead on January 2025 at 56.3% of their volume of payments, while LN ⚡ does a mere 0.4%. That's a really low tx count for real economic activity, plus a really low anon set and not much privacy if you think those users either use custodial wallets or are connected to a large LSP, or even if doing LN perfectly, they are still a small crowd.
Next time a bitcoiner challenges you, challenge them to create a real world business, take LN and Monero as payment, and tell us how it goes! We already have the data, now it's their turn to complete the challenge.

1. a sua seed é do tipo Polyseed, que é um formato de seed que salva a altura do bloco junto dela e assim sempre que você restaura essa carteira, não precisa sincronizar a blockchain inteira, mas apenas desde quando ela foi criada, o padrão Polyseed não é oficial então o Legacy converte para o formato padrão da Monero, sem a blockheight, pra restaurar em qualquer outra carteira de Monero que não suporte Polyseed

Depende, assim que vc envia uma transação ela já é válida, não tem RBF na Monero então dá pra se dizer que é instantâneo e que não tem volta, porém para que quem recebe possa gastar as moedas, o protocolo prende elas por 10 confirmações por segurança, então pra enviar é instantâneo mas pra usar moedas recebidas pode levar 30 minutos. Well, not quite either, because if you follow libertarian ethics what you believe in is not a single currency supremacy, but rather that a free market of currencies shall exist, and "good money drives out bad money", which doesn't mean the bad money goes to zero, it starts getting deprecated with time, while better money is the preference in the markets, but the "bad money" in question will still be accepted due to its long history, liquidity and network effects, until there's not a single soul anymore willing to trade it.
Want an example? The current dark web economy. Of course Monero is the preferred method of payment but we can't deny bitcoin still has a presence there, it is not going to simply be removed from everywhere, some markets will be all monero-only but others will monetize from the fact that you can still accept BTC and use that with Monero side-by-side, and that could go on forever with 2 currencies as money, you don't need to "save" in both but due to market forces they're also "safe" from not going to zero.

Sim, de acordo com a ética libertária em um mercado de moedas a moeda forte tira a moeda fraca do mercado, o fenomeno já começou no mercado negro/dark web não é mesmo?
Eu uso BTC principalmente pq gera yield de graça providenciando liquidez em mercados como robosats, retoswap, já que participantes do mercado precisam de off-ramps e on-ramps entre os dinheiros, você pode simplesmente ganhar com isso e sempre voltar para a mais forte, mas quando há a opção, eu e muitos só usamos Monero como pagamento
Por mim eu viveria usando BTC também mas infelizmente nem adoção teve, olhando ao meu redor um total de 0 (zero) lugares aceitam btc como pagamento, mas não tenho problema mesmo se aceitassem, ou se eu morasse em El Salvador, eu estaria convertendo mais monero para btc na lightning, mas depois de anos ainda é difícil justificar ter ou usar

O que acontece é que os valores no bitcoin não mudam pq não existe consenso, ao contrário de parecer que há consenso pra decidir deixar, então os valores do satoshi acabam ficando pq já estão lá mesmo, tem devs que querem até diminuir como o Luke JR quer blocos de 300kb, então o problema principal no bitcoin na minha opinião é que ninguém sabe o que ele deve ser, pra que ele deve servir, então ele vai "ossificar" para sempre sendo assim como ele foi criado, mesmo o satoshi não tendo influência hoje e a criação estando "livre pelo mundo", o que ele fez lá atrás ainda "dita" como é hoje
Já a Monero veio para ser dinheiro p2p fungível irrastreável e vai "mudar" quando tiver que mudar para ser mais privado, continuar tendo taxas baratas, etc, e isso não afeta a segurança já que cada ano que passa armazenamento e rodar um node fica mais barato. E ainda não corre o risco de forks no meio do caminho pq ninguém tem motivos para criar uma alternativa da Monero, existem apenas memecoins tipo a WOW e projetos alternativos tipo a ZCash que usam outras tecnologias. As forks são ruins para a segurança de quem participa, então usuários da Monero estão seguros apenas tendo Monero

pq a maior parte do mercado cripto é dentro de exchanges, onde vc dá seus dados e pode livremente movimentar da sua conta, para a exchange, comprar, vender, alavancar, se posicionar com margem, ser liquidado, etc.
A Monero é banida por ser impossível regular ela então ainda é incrivel ela estar nos top 50 mesmo assim, e desde que foi criada a Haveno ou Retoswap, ela simplesmente vem apenas crescendo, enquanto outras criptos caem, o btc perde os 100k, a monero continuou subindo para os 230 logo estará em 250 etc dificilmente ela voltará a acair agr pq o movimento é orgânico
