i got the package of cat harnesses and leashes yesterday afternoon, and this morning i have fitted little #mochi the #catstr with one that seems to work nicely.
going to just leave it on him for a week or so so he gets used to wearing it first, and when the sun comes out i'm gonna take him for a walk up the caminho, away from places where he might pick up ticks or more nasty parasites.
it was funny, right after i put it on him, he turned all smoochy and wanted lap time and was face-bumping hard against me and purring his head off, tail not wagging very much. feels like he has an intuition that this harness means he will get some sunshine.
i'm betting that giving him some sunshine, and me also getting some, is going to improve our health a lot.
i'm starting to get a lot better now, losing weight, i can feel more strength in my abdominals now and the cramping problems are reducing. hopefully for him it will reduce his vulnerability to the ear mites and help him clear out the congestion in his lungs. getting air purifiers in the house also has been important. the cat litters are so dusty they make me cough and he's right in it doing his business.
i wish i could get the recycled paper type like i used to use with my cats in australia. almost no dust, high absorbency and easy handling and disposal.
silica litter is practically essential if the cat is female, because it catches all the wee smell, female cats tend to refuse to do their poopies in a tray that smells like wee, but male cats are a lot less fussy.

I'm used to European investors, particularly German ones. They are much more attentive and critical because they are poorer and worry about making a loss.
American investors throw gigantic gobs of money at 10 projects. If one turns out, they break even. If two turn out, they turn a big profit. That works because they have such enormous amounts of money, and it means that they don't have to care what the other 8 do.

i have a plan for how to make a business using nostr technology, but i am unfortunately only an inventor and back end programmer.
i have decided that rather than waste my time learning how to build UIs, i'm stacking my sats and in a few months time i will find a trustworthy, good quality front end developer to build an MVP UI
i'm not sure exactly what feature set i'm going to target for this, but it will be a subset of your basic slack/gmail/gdocs/calendar stack. most likely it will be primarily about a realtime messaging stack like slack, and initially it will only have a web app front end because a good web dev can put together something that is usable on mobile. with that in hand, then i am going to find someone to line up customers, and this is very difficult. it may require at first working with very low-capitalized small projects
i probably will collaborate with gitcitadel if they have the git integration operational.
my target is relatively low because i want to hit it and by a year's time the project be already lifting off.
a lot of work to do, and for now i have to work for someone else whose project has run a long way over expectations of fulfillment because they are not very good at spotting bullshitters pretending to be software developers, who work part time but charge full time wages.
most of the software industry is full of bullshit, with people who have no business sense and no idea what people need. the needs are simple, if you have the sense to realise that you can be the model of a customer yourself, aside from whatever differences you may have in operational philosophy. small, low cap startups who are also aiming to get off the ground as soon as possible.

If you ask me, the assumption that some OGs are selling huge amounts of #Bitcoin to take profit and suppress the pump is utterly nonsense, because especially the OGs know that there is no "profit taking" in fiat currency and that the current price is nowhere near its projected value.
So if it's not that, only the Paper #Bitcoin Attack remains. What will happen if it turns out that THEY already sold twice or thrice the amount of available real #Bitcoin to corporations and institutions? What if THEY are naked short selling the hell out of it to keep the price from pumping?? 💩

We had just finished spooling up a fleet of LNG ships after discovering a goldmine of unlimited natural gas in continental America. It took us a o er decade to build the ports and ships, and Russia just lays down a pipeline in the Baltic sea over a couple yeats where nobody could stop them.
Ever since we have been agitating Ukraine and Israel to attack Russia and Iran on our behalf by giving them munitions. Israel is our nuclear insurance in the region: Destroy Iran, China falls. Any NATO power sides with Russia in a nuclear conflict: Israel balances the equation.
The rules between Nuclear powers are: Do Not Attack Us Or We Will Nuke You.
Of course Iran having a Nuke breaks this balanced low-intensity conflict, because they are an anti-zionist theocracy. Just one nuke detonated over Tel-Aviv the EMP alone brings Israel to its knees.
So what does this mean for Iran today? It means we destroy their nuclear program, destroy their oil fields in the process. Then we pull the choke-chain on Israel, and the low-intensity conflict continues with China crippled and with Ukraine is settled, Russia is once again considered "evil" by all of Europe, and Germany is dependent on US LNG.

My day good, though I had an unpleasant surprise when I went into my basement this morning to get some ground beef out of the freezer for my wife. There were 4” of water on the basement floor. The water was 2” above the base of our new furnace; it was above the base of our freezers and dehumidifier, numerous items, boxes, and totes were overturned; and I believe most of those items are lost.
I checked to see if the drain is blocked, but it is not. I think when we received that 3.5” of rain it raised the water table and flooded the basement.
Sleep well, my Friends! Tomorrow will be here soon enough, and we do our work again.

I think Bitcoin is actually just all of Austrian economics instantiated in the real world. I mean that literally: Bitcoin is not a physical thing, it is an **idea**. You likely know that your identity is your key-pair, that notes are stored on relays, that you can read from and write to more than one relay at a time, and that clients are the apps you use to view notes that were created by others, interact with them, and create your own notes that then get saved to your chosen relays.
That's the basic plumbing of Nostr, right?
I think the idea is theoretically possible, but it would require both clients and relays to be developed that support pay-per-reply, and would likely need to use eCash, which means Nostr clients would likely need to all support NIP-60. That's probably the direction things are going, but it may take a bit to get there.
And what makes me most angry is I think a lot of the discord in our society now is purposely done and benefits some.

Why does spam exist?
It only exists because the following three things are true:
1. People with malicious intent exist.
2. People can create new Nostr identities for free.
3. New identities can write to relays for free with the expectation that their notes will be seen and may not be removed for a time.
It is not possible to change 1, and 2 cannot be changed without a central authority that issues "approved" Nostr keys. Not a road we want to go down.
That means the only way to fight spam is by improving the ability of relays to block spam from being written to them in the first place and/or recognize and remove it quickly.
It is then the responsibility of users to only read from relays that do so. This means they need to have a place to find such relays. A relay marketplace, of sorts, that they can be referred to or that can be displayed within their Nostr client.
Clients aren't entirely off the hook here either. Defaults matter, and clients should have sensible default relays for new users that haven't built a relay list of their own yet. But they can only do so when there are solid relay options that allow write access to new users while also effectively recognizing and removing spam.
Clients can also provide tools for mitigating spam that do not rely on relays doing so, such as the way Coracle, Damus, and Nostur can filter posts based on WoT, regardless of what relays they use. Likewise, Amethyst has a toggle to hide posts that have been reported by those you follow. With these types of tools, though, your experience will vary widely from client to client, based on whether they implement similar tools and whether they toggle them on by default.
Meanwhile, picking good relays will affect your experience on all clients. Well... at least the ones that respect your relay choices...

yeah, DMs are the case that makes having a rendezvous relay proxying function make sense. at most the relay only sees traffic volumes and who connects to who, the content is encrypted. without much more elaborate than that you could use tor to set up accounts on several intermediary relays and voila, you don't even need tor to isolate who's talking to who, just two intermediaries and basta.

Without fighting AI slop (directly or indirectly when reviewing other people's code), actually finishing something feels energising. It's 18:40 here and I still have plenty of energy left to spend solid quality time with my family.
