if you are on a scam fooling people into agreeing to be robbed to pay for mass murder by a spook, nobody who is profiting from the scam is going to let the cat out of the bag. they don't give a damn about whether it's real or not, all that matters is that people are terrified by it and so they keep the myth alive as long as they can.
sooner or later tho, it's going to break, and i think it is breaking now.
bombing civillians is much harder to sell than "if we don't bomb civillians they will nuke us".
