When you say likes are worthless do you mean from a monetary standpoint or from a signal standpoint? Because likes also act as some sorts of signal on the post in question.
A post with no interaction and a post with likes cant be compared. Sure it might be the least useful from the other options you raised. But does that make it worthless?

Forward ICAN queries to 8.8.8.8

I thought it required root access but the error message is now AddrInUse.

You probably mean "you need docker to self host it".
The only way to guarantee consistent behavior of software across different devices is if they all share the same base environment. If this can be achieved by any other means great.
It is one of the solutions to "it works on my computer problem". Most home server solutions (start9,umbrel etc) are built around this.
Doesn't matter if it is well designed if it can only run on the Creator's system.

Official Exchange rates are meaningless. Anyone can choose their exchange rate and it is dependent on the other party to acceptor reject if the underlying base currency is in Satoshis.
If user A chooses their exchange rate as 400sat/$ and they have got 5000sats, $8 dollar shows up in their wallet.
If user B chooses their exchange rate as 450 sat/$ then if user B expects $2, they generate an invoice which amounts to 900 sats. User A would see the amount on this invoice as $2.25 and either pays it or reject.
No need for a central rate agreement

I get we are currently focused on secure communication but from the original post if we to include the need for Bitcoin, from my own experience, most just don't get it. And those who do get why it is important aren't ready or willing to take ownership. Which drives the point of the OP.
I don't gain anything by this being normalized. It is what I've observed in my endeavor to wake people I care about up. It is possible they may eventually get it when the need arise but there is no point trying to force it.

This fees are from phoenixd. They take .4% of all send transactions. Although there seems to be more privacy benefits when you just use it as a Bitcoin only wallet instead of as a lightning wallet and with the low mempool fees, cheaper to use from like 100000 sats than with lightning

Tested most of the popular #nostr web Twitter like apps on mobile and came to the following conclusion
Only those clients which implemented some sorts of cachiing or exposed rest apis were usable but limited in functionality compared to native apps. The web apps with many functionality don't appear to work well on the simplest use case such such as loading a feed.
If this is a technical constraints on the mobile web, the next best thing is to have mini mobile web apps that solve specific use cases well but are connected together by links which is the web's greatest strength.
Once a specific custom event is found, suggesting a website that can display or handle that event seems to be the winning strategy for the mobile web. Superapps not so much

I built a lnurl server that uses phoenixd as the funding source. The beauty of lnurl is anything can be used as a funding source. Phoenixd exposes an http API. This http API is exposed through a tunnel from my local PC to a vps. Phoenixd could be run on the vps directly though

Just exposed phoenixd running locally on my laptop, through #holesail to my vps and created an actual lnurl address that works on top of it (not the bolt 12 lightning address that only works with offers).
The setup was interesting because the holesail client runs within a docker container on the server without exposing any external port.
It shouldn't be too difficult creating relays that are exposed through holesail. P2p tech is really fun to work with

The fact that one can run a relay locally on their phone that backups their data is proof that the protocol is decentralized. Just like how we have routing nodes and private nodes in the lightning network. Same can be said about relays on #nostr

This is interesting because on one hand we've got people on one side of the scaling debate advocating for the ability for everyone to have access to a utxo (full/shared) (onchain scaling) and on the other hand, those advocating for 2nd and 3rd layer solutions to achieve scalability.
If one is saying the only way to achieve mass usage of #bitcoin is through layer solutions (exchanges being one of them), then it would seem #Bitcoin in its current state is good enough since most people won't custody their coins themselves.

Seems there are layers to even custodial wallets.

Having a good understanding of #bitcoin helps in preventing you from getting scammed.
Had a recent experience where I triggered a swap between lightning and liquid on boltz but the lightning payments kept timing out. Tried different lightning wallets but the same issue kept occuring so I figured the problem was from boltz
Tried reaching out to their discord channel for any help. Posted a message about the issue on the help channel and immediately a chat response responded. I didn't realize initially that this was spam. It directed me to a different discord server and put me on a queue. Then the agent began asking if I use Exodus wallet when I specifically mentioned the lightning transactions error.
It was at this point my suspicion was in full gear and I realized this was an attempted scam and deleted the server.
The knowledge spent learning about the technical nature of Bitcoin is never wasted.
A day later the swaps were resolved from boltz end.

Even though custodial services of Bitcoin aren't ideal, tools exist or can be built to minimize the centralization impact. The tools are open to anyone and not just special interest groups. Imagine having API access to your personal bank account. This is what's possible with custodial Bitcoin services but not broadly with traditional Fiat services.
