Don't be surprised by Israel blowing up people using pagers and phones. Israel was founded on activity of multiple terrorist organizations like Irgun, Haganah, Lehi. When compressing the whole dynamic mix I still love and go back to settings I learned from the great Andy Wallace/Slayer, Sepultura, Nirvana, System of A Down, RATM...among many/.
It goes :
Ratio 4:1
Fastest attack 0.1
Release - Auto.
Compressing 4-8 db in loudest parts.
I mixed the first #MTvoid album on this setting.
It works best with SSL Bus Compressor.
I work on a WesAudio version of this classic gear. Pure analog.
I'll write more about the rest of chain some other time.
