I'm not sure if I should bother correcting his misunderstandings of nostr, or his misjudgements of what is and isn't censorable and why, or just ignore him. Does he listen or just talk? We will see.
I like pkarr. I like using Mainline DHT directly even more. I'm using it in Mosaic. But it is also censorable. The bittorrent DHT may not be subject to sybil attacks, but it only has 3 (AFAICT) public well-known on-ramps. Take those three down and people who don't already have a node list can't get on. Nostr is not better for bootstrapping (finding a person's relays) but it isn't much worse. There is a weak centralizing pressure to put relay lists on a the same well known popular relays, but those change over time and the pressure changes over time, and good clients republish to the current popular set which can move. The main issue is that client devs are all over the map in terms of how they choose to deal with the situation, and some aren't even using outbox model. IMHO (emphasis on H) the main benefit of the DHT is someone new with a single key they want to follow can get started without knowing anybody nor any relays/servers.
There is no censorability difference between homeservers in pkarr and relays in nostr. You can run your own, or you can outsource it, in both cases. One isn't more censorship resistant than the other.
When I look at https://github.com/pubky I see among top rpos "pubky-app" which says it is a deprecated repository, and will be replaced with pubky/franky. But pubky/franky does not exist. So IMHO there is no opensource pubky, which means I won't be using it and I recommend against.

Hi nostr, we had to come inside for a break since it started raining once again. We just had a bit of a tragedy here on the homestead, so i'm feeling sad. Our old dog TJ, who was about 13 years old, was laying under the truck when my husband went to move it. She usually gets up and moves as soon as she hears a vehicle start up, but i guess this time she was too slow to move, and my husband didnt know she was there. I was in the chicken run and heard a yelp, and ran to see what happened. TJ's injuries were obviously fatal, and we both knew it. She was in alot of pain, so my husband had to put her down. I consider most of the applications beta software. Very good beta overall, but beta regardless. Expectations are likely misaligned with reality on all sides. I no longer recommend any of this stuff to noobs. Not because I don't like Nostr, but because it just isn't ready for average people in my opinion. The protocol is maturing though. I suspect it will be a lot better in 5-10 years.

Since Bitcoin doesn't have inflation, saving in BTC literally influences the current system to change for the better. Even if those in power buy half of all Bitcoin, they can no longer weaken their competition with unfair inflation. They can spend their Bitcoin to maintain power, but that shrinks their stack which weakens them. They either have to provide real value to society to grow their stack and their influence fairly, or they will eventually die.

The reason was two-fold. One was so that I know what the hell my niece is talking about next time I hang out with her. Two is so that I understand why certain things are succeeding as Disney/Pixar keeps floundering in failure.
While Disney/Pixar keeps making flops, Sony Animation has been rocking it with hits like Into the Spiderverse, Across the Spiderverse, and KPOP Demon Hunters. With a lower budget than what Disney/Pixar typically comes in with, Sony makes something that is higher quality and earns more money.
A few thoughts on why KPOP Demon Hunters was so successful:
-It's not the plot; the plot is pretty mid even among the field of kids/teens movies. Unique though.
-Funny/likable characters.
-Great animation.
-Music is way better than competitors. Catchy enough that they're succeeding as singles on their own.
-The writing is self-aware, but resists doing the constant quips that a Marvel movie does.
-The writers focus #1 on entertainment. There are positive themes in there, but unlike Disney/Pixar that recently forgot how to make an enjoyable film and focus so much on some theme, Sony actually makes fun films that also have themes like heroism/authenticity, etc.

Im more of the approach where you need things more complex before you can simplify it. Same as you only can write a short letter by writing the long variant first.
And for completing things, it just need to be complete enough to get things working. If things are broken, we need more completion perhaps. This adds complicity. If things are working again, we can simplify. Till things are starting to break again ;)
I haven't shopped in literal years. I've been rocking the same thinkpad with Fedora for like 4 or 5 years. And it works fine other than shit battery life (which was always the case).
But local AI is yeet on it. Although not as bad as I expected, and there are smaller local models now that are even quicker.
But any serious workflow on it just isn't going to work. It was okay for academic research.

I agree that is just one scenario that could happen. But is that something that will break the protocol? I don’t think so. I think this scenario will be played out somewhere in the future and for now I would be ok with that. With that scenario we already have a way better internet / communication layer than we have today.

The way he talks about BRICS is so hilarious. It's a term (originally just BRIC) made up by a Goldman Sachs analyst (Jim something, I forget) about 20 years ago because it was catchy.

Damit schweizer Landwirtschaft möglich ist ohne innerhalb der Landwirtschaft durch subventionen vorzugeben was produziert werden muss hätte ich eine Idee.
Eine einzige Landwirtschaftssubvention einrichten, welche ähnlich wie die MwSt prozentuale Abzüge des Verkaufspreises je nach proteingehalt erhält auf alle in der schweiz produzierten Lebensmittel.
Sprich ein Produkt im Detailhandel hat dann nicht bloss die 2.6% Mehrwertsteuer. Sondern erhält einen Multiplikator mal den Proteingehalt prozentual vom verkaufspreis abgezogen.
Mit dieser subvention wird sichergestellt, dass nur Subventionen erhält wer das Produkt auch verkauft. So können schweizer Landwirte frei für dieundschaft produzieren. Und ich denke der Proteingehalt kann ein gutes Mass sein, weil es gegenüber dem Kaloriengehalt auch eher gesündere Lebensmittel fördert.
Ist ein erster Vorschlag. Vielleicht macht es auch sinn einen anderen Wert als nur den Proteingehalt zu nutzen. Jedoch meine ich von der Idee, dass die subvention erst beim letzten Schritt der Lieferkette einfliesst, um effiziente Abläufe in der Landwirtschaft und Logistik entsprechend zu belohnen.

I have an idea on how to implement this, you would use the serial port for sending REQs over to another machine, which would then query a nostr relay and send over the json. Can't be done without because the ps1 didn't have native networking.
Then the "game" will render a single note (or perhaps a few), and the "player" can press the dpad left or right buttons to get a new page of notes. Then maybe pressing O on an event would zap it, and pressing triangle would get replies to it, or something like that

People who don't like that can use a different client or add in their local relays, and stream notes in over that.
Tired of building nice things and users freaking out because they're too lazy or cheap to switch the relays.

Currently, it doesn’t show any kind 1 videos that weren’t published through Plebs as it can’t guarantee those videos’ censorship-resistance. 幼儿园#铅中毒# 案，我能回答所有疑点[作揖]
前置声明：本文所写的内容是科普博主项栋梁基于公开资料查证所做的推理，不是凭空想象，但也不是采访调查，不能担保与真相完全吻合。我提供的是一个符合逻辑的完整故事，请读者谨慎参考。
以下是我基于推理所还原的幼儿园铅中毒事件来龙去脉：
在麦积区教育系统颇有关系与能量的李慧芳投资兴办了4家幼儿园，并委托亲友分别管理。其中褐石培心幼儿园是2022年新开的一家，由亲戚朱敬琳担任园长，并一定程度上管理该园的财务，分享一小部分经营收益。这决定了这几家幼儿园并不属于连锁品牌，而是在经营管理层面相对独立的四家幼儿园（手动划重点）。
近几年，全国新生儿数量逐年下滑，2018年1523万，到2022年就只有956万了。而2019年至2022年出生的孩子，正是如今在褐石培心幼儿园就读的孩子。这段时间，幼儿园的招生压力逐年上升，很多民办园倒闭，而李慧芳还敢在2022年新开一家幼儿园，而且都在麦积区，正是因为她的能量可以影响，但也只能影响到麦积区的教育系统。
然而，教育系统的关系能保证幼儿园顺利开办与“平安无事”，但招生却是市场化行为，是需要自己努力的。而作为新开的褐石培心幼儿园，招生压力会格外大一些。
基于对幼儿园招生市场的理解，李慧芳主要在两个方面做出努力来扩大招生：
一是向家长强调幼儿园的餐食花样多，营养好，孩子爱吃。褐石培心幼儿园门楣上的LED每天滚动播放的就是幼儿园当日菜谱。
二是通过自媒体账号宣传幼儿园活动丰富，发动家长分享传播。每日餐食也是这些幼儿园自媒体账号的重要内容。
李慧芳应该是从经营角度给四家幼儿园都提出过要求，要把餐食做得漂亮些，尽量五颜六色，拍照拍视频发出去都好看，更能吸引家长报名。至于怎么把餐食做得漂亮，怎么实现五颜六色，几家幼儿园就各自想办法了，李慧芳应该是授意过可以网购色素。
以李慧芳投资的另一家蒙迪爱幼儿园为例，他们的每周食谱里多次出现过三色蜜豆吐司馒头，还有一种彩虹卷，颜色都还比较自然。
褐石培心幼儿园也接收了李慧芳的指令要求，并安排厨师网购色素来做一些漂亮的糕点，以便拍摄餐食照片视频来拉动招生。
为什么买点色素几十块钱的事情会需要园长同意，会需要大老板的指示呢？这是之前包括我在内很多人都想不通的地方。
原来，这里面涉及到双重违法违规的操作，所以才需要请示老板。
2024年12月1日以前，《甘肃省学校食品安全管理办法》（试行）第十七条规定：
学校食品提供者必须严格食品添加剂管理，不得超剂量、超范围使用食品添加剂。餐饮单位所使用食品添加剂必须按规定在醒目位置予以公示，并严格执行“五专”（专人采购、专人保管、专人领用、专人登记、专柜保存）管理。
这一规定，实质上等于禁止了学校使用包括食用色素在内的食品添加剂。购买色素来做菜，在食谱中没有标注（想想也知道不可能标注），本身就是违法违规行为，所以才需要上报园长和投资人同意。
另外，作为食用色素的柠檬黄有国标限定的使用范围，而发面食品是不可以使用合成色素的，可食用的色素也不行，不可食用的颜料更加不行。
按照常理，老板李慧芳和园长朱敬琳是不可能指示厨房购买彩绘颜料来做糕点的，她们有胆子违法使用色素添加剂，但不会有胆子，也没有动力去使用彩绘颜料来做菜。
问题应该是出在采购这个环节。
由于幼儿园是独立核算，且园长会有利润分成，朱敬琳有充分的动机在每个环节尽量压缩成本，厨房采购人员应该是习惯了每种东西都买同类最便宜的那一款。
三色发糕和玉米肠卷都需要用到黄色，食品加工中最常用的黄色色素是柠檬黄，这是一种合成的有机可食用色素，价格四五十元一斤，足够做几百斤糕点。
问题在于，电商平台上叫柠檬黄这个名字的，除了食用色素柠檬黄，还有一种成分为铬酸铅（化学名）的彩绘颜料，被网店命名为柠檬黄（俗称）、柠檬铬黄（通用名）。
以柠檬黄为关键词在拼多多平台搜索时，食用色素柠檬黄与彩绘颜料柠檬黄同时显示在搜索结果中，如果选择按价格从低到高排序，前排就只剩下9.9元甚至更低的颜料柠檬黄了。
厨房采购人员可能缺乏相关知识，或者在同时采购多种物资时没有仔细核对，价格更低排序更靠前的颜料柠檬黄就被采购到了幼儿园的厨房仓库里。此处也不能排除厨房采购时虚报价格赚取差价的可能性，厨房采购吃差价在餐饮界是很常见的现象。
实际上，从厨房采购到园长再到老板，应该都不知道给孩子和老师吃的是铬酸铅柠檬黄，他们以为自己在做的是“违规使用色素添加剂”，而这种“小事”即便暴露，凭老板的关系可以轻松搞定。
这就是为什么褐石培心幼儿园敢于把三色发糕和玉米肠卷放进食谱里公开发布出来，也敢于把这些染色糕点留样待查。他们根本没意识到自己是在给孩子投毒。
这也是为什么玉米肠卷的铅含量会比三色发糕更高，因为玉米肠卷是纯黄色，三色发糕只有一部分是黄色，铬酸铅含量不同。
最开始有多名孩子出现异常症状时，少数家长就是带孩子在天水当地医院测出来血铅超标并在7月1日报警的。这时候，教育局和公安机关肯定直接找了幼儿园老板李慧芳来询问情况，而李慧芳因为不清楚厨房用了铬酸铅柠檬黄的情况，肯定是矢口否认与幼儿园有关，所以坦然接受了对留样食品与环境样本的全面检测。
这时候，当地政府的第一反应肯定是怀疑环境出了问题，主管领导开始担心自己要担责，也担心家长出现集体维权影响社会稳定，于是，一条瞒报维稳计划经过领导班子讨论后被迅速实施。
当地医院接到指示，于7月2日对涉事幼儿园的孩子集体采样检测血铅，同时不得擅自将真实检测结果告知家长，逼急了就口头报一个合格的假数据，总之先把事情压下来再说。
这也是之前大家想不通的点，一个幼儿园的老板有什么能量让当地动用市里的力量去命令医院检测数据造假，因为一开始大家都不认为是幼儿园的问题。
然而，大量家长基于对本地政府做事风格的了解，不相信、不接受集体检测血铅的合格结论，选择把孩子带到西安的大医院复查就诊。而当地政府尚未争取到省里的维稳支持，暂时无法干预到西安医院的检测结果，这才出现了两地血铅检测数据相差几十倍的明显做假的情况。
7月2日晚间或7月3日白天，对褐石培心幼儿园留样食品与环境样本的检测结果出来了，三色发糕和玉米肠卷的铅含量严重超标，当地政府开始意识到问题出在幼儿园的食品，于是紧急前往幼儿园仓库检查，并控制幼儿园相关人员展开讯问调查。
这也是为什么事发之后，幼儿园方面并没有删除厨房监控记录，也没有销毁用剩的彩绘颜料，因为他们根本就没有意识到这个问题的存在。
7月3日，当地发布第一份通报，定性为幼儿园违规使用添加剂导致幼儿血铅超标的案件。
到这时，事情就变成了当地发生一起重大食品安全负面新闻，对当地政府来说，家长安抚控制和舆情管理就进入了“常规操作”的轨道。
“大政府”的特点正在于此，因为平时什么都要管起来，所以发生什么破事都要担心问责，哪怕事情只是一家幼儿园胡乱操作搞出来的恶果，当地政府也会积极介入去维稳和弹压舆论。
到这时，铅中毒事件肯定已经上到了省委讨论，省里决定介入并接管“负面舆情”的管控。但省里出于控制负面舆情伤害范围的考虑，决定只出力不具名。
于是，7月8日，以当地市级联合调查组名义发布了第二份情况通报，意图让幼儿园把全部责任背下来，定性为偶发的、孤立的刑事案件，尽可能撇清省市两级政府的监管责任，也尽可能避免舆情聚焦在当地的环境污染问题。
然而，正是因为存着上面的这份心思，市级联合调查组在撰写通报时着力突出了园长和老板同意后厨人员购买彩绘原料用于食品制作，意在强调主观犯罪恶意，希望把案子做成铁案。
殊不知，园长指示购买彩绘原料给孩子投毒这种完全违背常理的说法激发了公众更强烈而广泛的质疑，令人不得不怀疑背后有什么更大的阴谋与黑幕。
你说当地政府冤吗？也的确是有那么一点点冤，毕竟这一次铅中毒至少主因不是环境污染，幼儿园的愚蠢操作也很难预防。
但归根究底，当地政府是不冤的。
惯性的维稳思路让他们选择第一时间指使医院造假数据掩盖真相，急于甩脱责任的想法使得他们在第二份通报中刻意误导，再加上2016年铅中毒事件有检测结果造假的前科，第二份通报引发公众和媒体普遍质疑，那是一点都不冤的。
最后是关于铬酸铅的一些特性：
1.铬酸铅柠檬黄能够做出颜色鲜艳、均匀且没有异味的糕点，这个已经有博主通过实验还原了。人们之前质疑的彩绘颜料有异味，指的是丙烯等常见颜料，铬酸铅柠檬黄在浓度不高时是没有明显异味的。另外，铬酸铅虽然不溶于水，但作为粉末经揉面分散后能够均匀染色。
2.铬酸铅纯品的铅含量高达64%，即便是便宜的不纯的涂料，铅含量也会在50%以上，足以引起幼儿铅中毒。
3.铬酸铅中含有的六价铬也是有毒有害物质，更是一类致癌物，但六价铬的消化道吸收率低于10%，相比铅要小很多，所以幼儿出现铅中毒的同时并没有因为铬中毒而致死。
需要特别强调的是，虽然不至于急性致死，但铬对幼儿健康的伤害和铅一样不容忽视，而当前受害幼儿的血液检查项目并不包含铬，只覆盖了铅与镉。
当务之急，应该对孩子们的铬中毒情况进行针对性筛查，及时介入救治！
这也是联合调查组报告非常混蛋的一点，明明已经查获了彩绘原料，知道是什么成分，但就是不公开出来，以至于电商平台没能及时处置，7月10日我在拼多多搜索柠檬黄时，食用色素仍然与彩绘颜料混同出现，同时家长和医院也无法及时针对性确定治疗方案。

I asked because I got the impression that you had some knowledge, but not the full picture. I was specifically thinking of the story of Saul (Paul), which is in Acts.
He was a Jewish soldier tasked with persecution of the early church. He was hunting and imprisoning Christians and likely did many worse things, but Christ appeared to him and turned him into his servent. The remainder of the new testament is all written by Paul in the form of letters.
I've been meeting many Jews lately who have come to Christ and chosen to stand up for peace. Many more will come.
