Yeah, I don't like it when used with other streaming endpoints.
It requires me to setup yet another streaming endpoint and it's yet another chat. I already have a HLS feed, why do I need to rebroadcast it to zap stream?
I'm already in 2 chats for the live show, I can't manage a third.
I also don't like then twitch like see whose streaming page.
If your are ONLY streaming to nostr, then I think it's perhaps good. But when you already have your own, zap stream is not a great option, imho.
Honestly I think we need a way to get nostr chat events kicked off from rss feeds (which support a link to a chat) than solely using zap stream.

Yeah idk, you can just sell it. I think his issue is that in V4V yes people will/may not pay. But that's the model.
If you want to paywall posts, that's fine. Actually substack apparently has the most amount of people making over 6 figures or something.
Tbh, the nostr numbers are embarrassing for zaps. In a dusty old v4v model, there's 1000x the monetary value. But on substack, if you want to make a living, people are killing it.
This post feels a bit like someone complaining someone else copied their software without paying them (cough cough coldcard), when that is exactly what the license permits.
The "problem" is v4v is based on voluntary exchanges on both sides. I think a lot of people would just be happier with a paywall.

I would also try his Sibling Society book. It's less men specific then Iron John but more holistic. I.e. where do men fit into family with a special interest in children's roles.

Watched another Adam Curtis documentary called the Trap. The trap being a concept of liberty called "negative liberty."
It's a difficult concept for me to explain but negative liberty is the idea there should be no restrictions on ones life. This is I think, the ideals of many here.
Positive liberty, is, well, I don't have a good grasp on it, seems to be more about the idea of being free to choose a path that pursues a goal or a purpose. So it's less about a concept of complete lack of restrictions.
This might be the difference I'm noticing in the podcasting 2.0 community versus the pure bitcoin community. The former seems to focus more on a positive, purpose driven community.
The later seems to be a loose collection of people who don't want things in their way.
Both of these characterizations are not completely true however.
The film really makes you question if negative liberty is a good thing or not though. I'd recommend this film to everyone here.
These documentaries were recommended to me by Amir Taaki, which I find interesting given his current projects.

I think what you want is a mobile "audio interface" that is wired to the mobile over usbc, but then this dongle has a Bluetooth chip in and a 3.5mm jack for the lav mic.
So the phone looks like the dongle is doing the audio and then it's split from there.
I know wires are not cool but It's probably easier to do.

I'm all for hardware but this is much easier to do in software in post. And this comes from someone who hates post editing!
A clip on lav style mic with a wind protector going into a field recorder will be fine.
Unless you meant "live" podcast because I was confused about the need for headphones.
You can use a field recorder that has EQ and most importantly, a noise gate (and noise reduction).
Getting this small is challenging when I think honestly I'd suggest using the phone to do this for a prototype.

Over the holiday, I'll start to work on the tapes for this release. I might cut back to a run of 20 however so everyone can get 2 FM radio kits.
It's useful if you make a mistake when soldering.
I know it's a bad time to go anywhere near a post office right now tho🥲
The next issue might roll quick because I'm doing the satellite skirmish on January 12th, thanks to @nprofile…8hxm and @nprofile…rx3g.
And since that's about 20 minutes I'll probably devote a side of the tape to that live performance.
Although... for the next issue, it will be a combo cassette and blu ray release because the skirmish performance is going to have some intense video effects.

Yeah sure! So it's a tapezine, so a self published magazine that I release on cassette.
Because not everyone has a cassette player I also release it as a self-hosted podcasting 2.0 enable podcast.
That's what I mean by "punk" in this sense -- DIY ethos.
That's the mediums involved.
The content is generally something like I do 1 or 2 articles, where at least one has a sort of analog cypherpunk feel.
Then, I encourage the community to submit audio so I've had music, a noise loop, narration, creative news segment, and the like.
Lastly, I try then to pull it all together into a 40 minute, 20 minute per side, magazine that aims to entertain and educate.
How does that grab you?

Broadcasting on KBIT-FM, 95.7, here is December's issue.
Featuring some poems by me, two tracks by @nprofile…7k3u, a gonzo book review of a book I think y'all will enjoy (The Radio Phonics Laboratory), and a Bob Ross style soldering episode.
The episode is mean to go along with a FM radio transmitter kit. Which you can request via a postcard to the P.O. box mentioned at the end of the episode. This is a small kit that you must solder yourself. When built, you can transmit audio via a 3.5mm jack maybe a meter or 2 to the FM radio band. 📻
This episode has a FM-taped-from-the-radio feel to it, so the tape hiss is intentional (it's also real tape effect, not a plug in).
I had some tape room so I gave some shout outs to nostr friends and producers, I'll also get you on the jcards.
This is now the 6 episode, every month for 6 months. What a trip it's been! Thank y'all for listening and supporting the show.
The slate is cleared now for January submissions!
