We don't need any help from politicians to support Bitcoin. We just need them to leave us alone.
Dictators don't mind their own business; that's the whole point!
Seems to be the most likely culprit. It's just odd because usually even a dead battery has enough juice to turn on the guages.
I do, but it seems the battery may have finally given up the ghost.
Looks like the universe is testing my resolve, as I went to take my motorcycle for a ride and it's dead as a doornail despite being fine a few weeks ago. 😬

OKX spent $18,000,000 in transaction fees consolidating UTXOs yesterday and they likely could have accomplished their goal for under $1,000,000 if they had been more prudent. 😬

While we have strong disagreements, I must admit I respect Roger Ver's conviction in sticking to his ideals.
For example, we now know he sold a ton of his Bitcoin around the time of the fork, presumably to buy Bitcoin Cash.

However, it seems that the same conviction that led to him becoming Bitcoin Jesus and a billionaire has also led to a lot of suffering these past years.
I hope Roger finds peace.

If it's not a real child, who is being harmed?
Perhaps because I say what I think rather than conforming to whatever the current popular narrative is; I've been cancelled countless times.
Also, I think there's plenty of room for non-Bitcoin crypto networks that offer different utility. I explore many technologies and I don't apologize for it.
People tend to form a mental model of me based upon my posts they've seen, then they get upset when I do something that breaks their model.
IDK about "good" vs "bad" guy because it's subjective. I consider myself good because I've educated many people and also helped many folks secure their funds. I don't defraud folks - the services I provide are quite transparent, even if some folks disagree with them.
It's not, but you know it's coming 🤡

I'm not using strfry in this instance
strfry can do this by running a sync command (if the other relays support sync) you can use filters with it.
I need a script that analyzes my local relay database and subscribes to other relays in order to backfill missing events based on my pubkey whitelist after I’ve completed downtime maintenance.
I’m hoping one of your GPT bots picks this up and automagically makes it happen or else I know what project I’ll be working overnight.
It’s that and/or load balancing.
Sounds brilliant. Thanks very much.

When one constructs a blockade that obstructs folks' freedom of travel, one commits an act of aggression.
A traveler who finds their freedom of movement restricted is being wrongfully detained and is thus justified in taking action to defend themselves.
Fee rates of 300 sats/vb, such as we are seeing today, make mining fees hit 1:1 parity with the block subsidy for the next mining epoch.
That is to say, miners would achieve the same revenue post-halving as they did from the subsidy of the current epoch.

#Bitcoin blows minds for many reasons.
Computer scientists say Satoshi solving the Byzantine Generals problem blew their minds.
Economists might be mystified by an asset that goes up in price without producers increasing production to increase supply.
Oil drillers say finding an alternative to flaring excess gas that's cleaner and more profitable was mind blowing.
Human rights advocates say being able to own an asset which cannot be confiscated in a corrupt country, allowing people to grow wealth and escape tyranny was mind blowing.
Power plant operators will say the load balancing capability of mining is mind blowing.
Merchants or users of remittance services will say the fact that BTC lowers friction and fees is mind blowing.
Some might say Bitcoin encouraging saving and long term thinking is mind blowing.
If Bitcoin hasn't blown your mind, you just haven't viewed it through the right lens yet.

Well, Tool explained it perfectly in Opiate.
Where did the Bible come from? (humans wrote it)
Exactly but 90% of people who own bitcoin don’t follow these rules. Someone with $10M of art, gold, or fiat is at higher risk.
In the fiat world, most people/celebrities have their net worths splattered all over the internet. Bitcoin fixes this, even if you buy KYC. What are some non-trackable options aside from cash?

#Bitcoin promotes peace and cooperation.
If someone has $10M of physical assets (art, cash, precious metals, supercars) and a robber kills the owner - the robber gets everything.
If someone has $10M of bitcoin in cold storage and a robber kills the owner - the robber gets nothing.
For the people:
Any good content showing how to get started with a #node and how to “erase” #KYC tracks for those looking to further secure/privatize their sats?
People say “run a node” but don’t explain the steps. 80% of the world doesn’t even know how to press a button to buy #bitcoin - yet we have a few bitcoiners making it like new buyers are going to get robbed, instead of providing simple security steps.
Every other money/physical asset (cash, credit card info, gold, cars, jewelry) is far easier to steal from someone.

Or maybe you are just 200 years old because the power of your beard creates an aging half life - where the older you get the slower you age.
I’m 90% convinced it’s one of the two.

Bitcoin is peace
https://nostrcheck.me/media/public/nostrcheck.me_6915513362484673921699110012.webp
Brother, speaking at a conference doesn't automatically make someone's ideas the best.
Blind idolatry leads people to the same old problem of trusting without verifying.
If Satoshi were to appear now and say that Bitcoin should become a proof-of-stake (POS) system, does that automatically make it a good idea?
For God's sake...
This is an actual panelist from the 2023 Miami Bitcoin conference. Clearly someone who should know better.
I don’t know who that guy is, but thats a really dumb idea.
You know, Daniel, people who are not responsible for themselves and always want someone else to take on their own responsibilities are either childish or cowardly.
I think we can all agree that this guy is very dumb.
https://nostr.build/av/e37cd9db8688954a09e2afc01d8358876bfdf77b5517f8193a6d6ccc2e9aa35a.mp4
Sometimes it's difficult to talk to people because they are overly sensitive and can't differentiate between calling someone stupid and calling an idea stupid.
My statement that only foolish people give their keys to third parties isn't directly calling anyone stupid, but it's provocatively suggesting that those who think it's a good idea may not be the most intelligent.
This is similar to when I say that only idiots believe Ethereum is decentralized. I'm not calling anyone an idiot unless they genuinely are.
If you look at my statement, I didn't say to the person, "You're stupid." I just made a subtle jab that the idea is truly foolish.
Daniel, I consider you an intelligent person, and I believe it's not very difficult to understand that being too lenient in accepting stupidity is what has made our society so flawed in various aspects.
Most people simply don’t have the time to commit to grasping new and complicated concepts. You can have a PHd and an above average IQ and still be uncomfortable with the idea of DIY banking. And assuming we get even close to the level of global adoption there won’t be a feasible way for everyone to hold their own keys on-chain.
Calling people dumb turns them away and makes us look arrogant and condescending, which is probably a big turn-off for new people.
I understand your prespective Daniel, but i don’t agree.
I have my opinion, and i know it takes time to learn, and this things are not easy in the beginning, but when people have the tools to learn and they choose not to learn they are what in your perspective?
We live in a messy world because most people dont take time to learn how the things are beside the access on information, and society now are soft and accept dumbness as a good thing.
It remembers me the normalization of obesity when its just stupid to normalize a desise.
And for me, that is being dumb.
A step-by-step guide to building your own bitcoin-powered inbox to defeat spam. #repost https://t.co/UaZM2tdhoB
self-sovereignty and 100% responsibility of your wealth is a paradigm shift away from the entrenched central banking system
permit people the time to go through the learning curve
I don’t start by call people dumb. This stuff takes a lot of time to understand. You can’t expect everyone to be at the same level. Doesn’t make them dumb.
You can call people dumb or you can accept that there will always be a majority of people who see complete self custody as riskier than the alternative.
We need deepfake/AI pen testing of assisted multisig and Ledger Recovery setups in the same style @npub17u5…t4tp tests seed backups. Can you deepfake yourself and get a key signing approved? Of course don’t mess with other people or be a jerk, but testing how robust these systems are is extremely important, and I suspect they’re much worse than people assume. If so, your multisig setup is really only one key theft anyway from being stolen if another is an easy deepfake away.

The flu is also a Corona virus, like Covid-19 (SARS Cov2).
A vaccine has not been found against corona viruses, no matter how hard one wants to believe this.
A more transmissible version but barely lethal version will head towards the future. The aim of a virus is not to die with its host (in order to multiply and transmit to as many hosts as possible.)
Nostr life🙃 https://image.nostr.build/99902d2710b1d53303a9987c1c6e4e66134755f9678d929ce5a7dc6997856e85.jpg
And when you dig just an inch deeper (after these three and a half years!) you'll notice that vaccine downsides are never reported. It would help if one would consider what "informed consent" actually means...

Cool, i always wondered if pistol whip would get that. It's presumably harder to make them because of the environments... does it just let people reuse the existing environments but just change the enemy placements?

Here is exactly what they are asking older citizens for, meaning, not suggesting, directly stating, flu and covid annual vaccine is now open… 🤯
The covid might have been real but all the covid cases were just faulty tests finding the flu and calling it covid.
A little critical thinking a day keeps the poison shots away 🤷♂️
The folks who speculated that covid would become like the flu were right.
Now advertisements are literally suggesting getting your annual covid vaccine in the same breath as mentioning that it's time for your flu shot.

script
multisig
addresses
mining pools
21M coin cap
8 decimal precision
HD address generation
2016-block retarget window
best chain = cumulative PoW, not longest chain
While the Bitcoin whitepaper is hosted on 1,000+ web sites, it's also stored on 20,000+ machines that run full node software since the whitepaper is embedded in the blockchain! If you run a Bitcoin Core node on Linux, you can extract it with this command:

Almost certainly. I ordered some clothing on Moosejaw recently then got an email later telling me my order was rejected. After talking with a customer rep I was told the most likely reason was my VPN.
Have had the same thing happen and yes, suspect it’s vpn related.
Had a similar issue with a bank. Sent a few transfers (to buy bitcoin funny enough). Next thing I know everything frozen. I call the bank, they can't do anything until I speak to fraud department, where they ask me a thousand questions about myself, past transactions and the recent transactions sent to "people i had not been in contact with before".
After all that it clicked and we realized it's all because I logged on through a VPN, even if I was on a local server at the time and not connecting from across the world or whatever.
Same bank that makes me go through this didn't use 2FA at ALL until a few years ago.
Pain in the ass.

Why chatgpt says that there is no konsensus about is csw satoshi or not
Exactly why it's fucking ridiculous!
Don't they check your id when you check in? So what would even be the point of fraud using the same name as on the card?
Had many instances of this, tho not with airlines (yet). Online merchants of all types have been locking my accounts and declining transactions because I use a VPN and hardened browsers. Banks have been freezing credit cards and accounts. Then I must jump through hoops. "For account security" is what they say. "Use Paypal" or "use Google Chrome and no VPN" is the advice. Fuck you, I'll take my business elsewhere.
The whole fiat system in this surveillance state feels designed ensure we can't transact without banks and govt entities knowing everything "for our safety and security".
Your own or a vpn company?
take a greyhound instead. US domestic flights sound nearly as bad as international ones.
i tried to apply for my ESTA with Mullvad Browser
that was NOT happening, whole process broke down 😂
Time to hash out loads of firewall rules
That’s exactly why it happened.
Delta blocked me from buying a flight in my own name with my own credit card. Support agent said their system suspected my account was compromised and they need me to upload my ID to prove it's me. Of course the review process will take an indeterminate period of time.
The only reason I can imagine this happening is because I use a VPN.

FTX was the "world's most regulated exchange" at the time of its collapse, with 17 licenses...
Hard to believe this guy is still around and that he still gets attention.
The fact that he is australian adds unnecesary context. The scam he runs is actually quite low tech to be called "computer", as he's basically trying to dupe a judge somewhere with fake printouts. So, "Craig Wright, notorius scammer"
Why not boycott "news publications"? it's just fiat news.
Yeah, they should just call him an Australian.
We are all Satoshi. Except Craig Wright, he is definitely not Satoshi.
"Australian Computer Scammer"
It's pretty annoying when news publications refer to Craig Wright as an Australian Computer Scientist. Craig is as much of a Computer Scientist as he is Satoshi.

lecithin is a shitcoin. it's like soap.
Nope, switched to casein because the egg white protein powder had sunflower lecithin which causes bloating.
No mention of lifestyle changes being adopted at the same time the statin is prescribed. 🤔
I find it odd that the simpler studies with statins show no benefit but incredibly complex ones somehow prove their benefit.
Anyway, I think about these charts a lot. https://image.nostr.build/b6bddb286dc8205ffd71b70b5e2eeb2df1ca5c7448f7c49eb824374e9a22e464.jpg

Ok, that's news to me. I heard a lot of talk about CVD "event" benefits at the cost of other issues with ultimately no benefit to all-cause mortality and I myself did experience strong muscle pain from statins. This meta study certainly is quite solid in favor of statins. What I find crazy scary is that by my reading, statins help everybody and non-CVD patients even more than CVD.
When I was prescribed statins and immediately developed muscle pain I did search for others in the same situation. I found a platform where thousands had rated my product abysmal with horror stories of death and pain with an occasional 5-star rating. I know this is totally anecdotal but I e-mailed one of those 5-star raters and asked how it's going. He told me he gave the 5-stars after a week and stopped using the product after two months due to problems, too.
do you still eat ~50 eggs per day?
You mean triglycerides / HDL?
Atorvastatin went generic in 2011. It's a few bucks for a month's prescription even without insurance.
While LDL-P is the actual important value
Time restricted eating/intermittent fasting helped to improve my lipid profile
"Pay me & I'll make you rich" = scam
"Make me rich & I'll pay you" = capitalism
Ignore, the study that claimed LDL to be dangerous is literally a scam.
Exercise, whole grains, legumes, olive oil, vegetables.
Which if anything should be a predictor for benefits not the opposite.
That said, I tried statins, had terrible muscle pain, found tons of others with horror stories and dropped it.
i just received the same prescription recommendation. what are my natural alternatives?
I remember seeing a study on how men admitted to hospitals with a cardiac event actually had surprisingly low LDLs on average. The conclusion? Was it that maybe their correlation assumption was off?
no, of course not! It was "We need to lower the threshold to start administration of statins."
Stat.
HDL is more predictive.
Careful citing peer-reviewed scientific literature among this group. If it doesn't fit their narrative to eat 3 helpings of red meat every day, it's probably BS government propaganda.
I hate how the ven diagram of Bitcoin and crazy is 2 almost perfectly overlapped circles.
Sure, high cholesterol increases your risk of having a heart attack. Lowering it reduces the risk. Happy?
Research other options.
Statins are the most profitable drugs in history.
I wouldn't take any statins or any other drugs I don't really have to take.
The for-profit medical industrial complex has been changing what's normal for many years.
They keep lowering normal values so that everyone sounds sick. And if you refer to a recent medical textbook it has the same corrupted values.
For example, 120/80 BP has been considered normal for decades. While 140/90 was considered pre-hypertension that did not need pharmaceutical treatment.
Now they try and classify that as hypertension and treat everyone with pharmaceuticals..💉💊🤑💰💲💸💀
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC9572734/
What do I care about cardiovascular events if all-cause mortality isn't down?
Not sure that reduction in cardiovascular events is a net negative...and development of insulin resistance and hyperglycemia is a possible side effect in a small amount of patients. Also easily monitored so can be adjusted if necessary.
If anyone wants to dive into the technicals of why statins are net negative: https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/why-do-statins-cause-diabetes-jack-kruse
Ugh, you get one high LDL-C result on a lipid panel and the pharmaceutical industrial complex wants to pump you full of statins.
