today I restored my wallet from seed after a few larger ecash transfers to LN were "reverted" but didnt come back to my balance.
like wtf right?
and I'm kinda anal about sats or monero hanging out there because I've never actually lost any (thanks to kayabanerve!!)
anyway, the point is that I restored and the wallet properly recovered the transfers that had disappeared.
PLUS another 3000 sats that had apparently been stuck in limbo and I had just lost track of.
so the wallet works...
but the accounting is not reliable since I'm unsure what these other sats were or why they were missing.
just zaps that didn't get delivered I guess??
obviously still beta software, which is fine.
and I still haven't lost a sat 😎

Olas is an Instagram-like client for iOS and Android.
Olas 0.1 provides a feed of videos (like those on flare/highlighter/zap.stream), picture events (kind:20, a new kind that no client had implemented yet) and the classical short notes with images attached we are all used to.
When publishing images, Olas uses the new kind:20, in a future release you’ll be able to control whether to publish as a short note so that it appears in microblogging clients too.

市场监管总局（国家标准委）近日批准发布了强制性国家标准GB 44917-2024《食用植物油散装运输卫生要求》，将于2025年2月1日正式实施。规定：
① 食用植物油散装运输容器应采用食品专用容器，容器内外均应干净卫生。运输非食品的容器不应运输食用植物油。用于食用植物油散装运输的集装箱液袋为一次性使用容器。
② 有下列情形之一，应先将容器内的残留物清除干净，并对容器进行擦拭等清理。运输某一品种的食用植物油后，再运输另一品种的食用植物油；运输低等级食用植物油后，再运输同品种高等级食用植物油。

我这几天冥思苦想了一招，能解决现在的就业问题。你看啊我们把厂长分为新厂长和老厂长，老厂长有的成老赖了，有的生意不好成了准老赖苦苦挣扎，还有就是生意不错的三类。新厂长呢分为三类。一类是看到行情不好，不敢下场，成了准新厂长，另一类就是拿自己钱小玩玩，不敢玩大（这种其实也解决不了多少就业），还有一类就是有钱新厂长。
大家不要小看我这个分析方法，这个是教员分析问题的方法，先把问题涉及的人群分类。。现在银行要把款贷出去，老赖厂长不可能了，准老赖也不行，怕钱借出去，不投入生产而是去填窟窿去了。准新厂长胆子小，也很难转化，富人新厂长不care贷款。那么只剩下几类。1）生意还可以的老厂长 2）玩的不大的新厂长。这两类人是重点突破对象。
我的方法来了，这个方法就是释放超长期贷款，比如30年，前5年不换本，也不还利息。5年后根据情况决定先息后本，还是等额本息。这样以来，白拿5年钱去闯，这两类厂长中，胆子大的，没准就敢于投入了，敢于借款了，就业就来了。。
现在是到了银行拿觉悟的时候了，反正银行也有钱，与其在内部空转消耗，还不如把金融工具发给年前有为的厂长们。。

But afaict there is only Bitcoin and Monero.

This is why I don't take much encouragement with the US or other countries adopting bitcoin. Because I don't subscribe to the idea that the Indian govt will automatically be favourable to bitcoin just because some OECD govts do.

I think my genetics are pretty average. When my hair is long, my face breaks out more because my hair sits on my forehead. The oils from your hair can cause you to break out. I also break out when I spend time with a girl who wears makeup. Those chemicals aren’t supposed to be absorbed by your skin. A few years ago I would constantly touch my arms, trying to feel the muscles on my shoulders and then it would break out. My guess is that the oils from my fingers triggered that. If I touch my face a lot, I’ll break out too. I also breakout in some other parts of my body which I think might be caused by sweat. But my face is the cleanest because I wash it regularly and remove that oily layer with warm water. I’m starting to think that we breakout because our skin is trying to remove some shit that it absorbed which it wasn’t supposed to absorb 😂

Life is amusing.
I have song Take Me To Church by Hozier in my head. Singing it while I am getting dressed for the day. Walk into the living room and my nephew is watching a YouTube channel by some dude called JackSucksAtStuff. The guy is playing this game where you pair up words to create other words. I started to read all the words. Literally there were twenty angels pieces and one god piece.
I started laughing and saying I was singing Taking Me To Church, and my nephew says, "really?".

I love Alby and I think their browser extension in the single most awesome and useful Lightning thing ever created. Having said that, I do think having to pay to be non-custodial (whether via Alby cloud service or your own node), is a total non-starter for 95% of users, and is of course a large reason why lightning has struggled in general.
Additionally, the thing that lightning is best at currently is SMALL payments, which honestly most people don't need non-custodial when it is for small amounts.
Non-custodial is for my cold wallet. I don't mind having some sums in custodial things, so long as they are very convenient and cheap to use.
I'd have happily paid a 500-1000 sats every month to use alby custodially, and I hope they considered that, but guessing it's not possible from a legal standpoint in many jurisdictions.
