The official check comes with the Primal NIP-05 registration, I believe. I cannot recall if that is from a pro plan or not. The real Jeff doesn’t show a NIP-05 in his profile that I can see on Primal, and there’s an extra h on the impostr Primal profile. Small clues, and not all profiles will have these clues, nor will major brands have real users to compare them to. This will get worse before it gets better. We need something to get us across the adoption gap.

Who has the other two? My ideal situation is one to me, one to the lender, and one to a legal 3rd party arbiter that is obliged to sign alongside the prevailing party upon breach by a party.
— I fulfill the loan payoff?: I get the bitcoin with lender sig.
— I repay with collateral?: lender gets enough coin to fulfill balance by my sig.
— Breach of agreement by me?: lender gets the bitcoin by 3rd sig.
— Bankruptcy by lender?: I get my coin immediately by 3rd sig.
Lender has no means to move coin unilaterally. This seriously reduces attack vectors and makes me feel okay with loan collateralizing with Bitcoin. It’s scary otherwise.

Finally decided to revisit my Nostr Relay on the @nprofile…fu08 to configure it, so that it could be a healthy member of the protocol society. There are many NIP features that cause me to want to fine tune the relay's behavior. But the 'Private/Whitelist' is the only config setting that shows up on the @nprofile…fu08 installation of the Nostr RS Relay v0.9.0. Is there a hidden menu or GUI? Or an obfuscated config file? Is this simplified on the Start9, but more robust in a native install? Feeling my way around. Thanks for any insights.

As a @nprofile…9rst user I want to know every element that compromises privacy and user control of their data (storage, tracking, and persistence) on both the application and the relay. And I’d like to see it in a public list or maybe a mirrored repo with specific notes against the offending code in a constructive way that makes us all smarter. Best in a place where discussion can happen, so that we as users can guide development where appropriate and possible. This kind of dialogue is important to have early and often. But I cannot say the same of my mind. As Durant completes a summary in his epilogue of the impacts of Greek culture over the centuries, I cannot help but recognize the persisting impact of their views of the world, functions of their minds, their appreciation of beauty and form, and their employment and enjoyment of the senses. Even many of our religious and political structures come from the roots set by the Greeks.

My take for any middle/upper-middle class person on zero:
My conviction plus an empty position would have a person buy 1 whole coin at a minimum and look away from it for 10 years.
Then use bitcoin as a savings vehicle for regularly added funds along the way, while they earn and grow their various investments.

With Easter coming up, I realized that I had no idea how they pick what day will be Easter. I looked it up:
Easter is celebrated on the first Sunday after the first full moon that occurs on or after the vernal (spring) equinox.
The vernal equinox is fixed as March 21 (even though the actual equinox can vary by a day).

Spent some time reading about silent payments with BitBox—very much looking forward to this, but they aren’t real yet for broadly applied purposes.
Yes, they let you hand out a single address that never reuses outputs. Great for privacy. But the rub: the sender has to know to send a silent payment and their wallet needs to support the procedure.
Right now, BitBox can receive, but unless the sender is using a wallet that knows what to do (like BitBox itself), the transaction will fail. A Bitcoin wallet that hasn’t also adopted silent payments won’t cut it—it won’t do the cryptographic handshake needed.
So: silent payments aren’t plug-and-play yet. But hopefully they will be, once more wallets adopt. Feature wins like this can take time—but this one’s worth watching.
