I hear you. But her efforts are consistent and the task before her is daunting and takes time. So I’ve been patient in my judgement. I’ve read that she lacks necessary cosponsors. The whole of Nostr isn’t your feed. Just follow the ones you want. I like to see a variety, including seeing some of what my friends may be getting fed. I can process it myself. But these folks that are sharing various news stuff from various sources, including msm, are fine. showing and sharing a broad sampling is just fine. You personally can always mute and unfollow the ones you want to hide from. But I don’t seek out news elsewhere, so the trickle of notable items is welcomed.

There are enough of us at this point. We should just manhandle the powers-that-be and spin up wonky-cheap .str and .nostr extensions for no.str and nostr.nostr products and projects. Is that a thing that could be BTC paid, Nostr verified, dns compatible? Spitballing here. Even KYC limited if a nostr based verification means is more ideal? Somebody smarter than me out there on this as to how it is or isn’t possible?

Where I find WP helpful is with some of the very flexible WYSIWYG themes I’ve used that saved me a ton of customizing time and get it launched and looking good within the theme elements I selected. Still, you’re right, but depending on your project, there may be merit. Building a website, maybe a time saver. Building an application? Likely a no go.

Running a node is easy. Holding your own Bitcoin keys is the critical part.
Running a Nostr relay is worthless the easy way, and I haven’t bothered with an effective way that’s harder. Yet, I hold my own social keys and use Nostr on the backs of others. This is fine until my speech is infringed. Then the hard way is available to me if projection of my voice is important enough.

“Treat others how they want to be treated”—the Platinum Rule is a compliment to the Golden Rule. It adds empathy to the golden rule’s projection.
This is particularly useful in diverse use cases, diverse user personas, and where user expectations and workflows vary. However, it does have a potential flaw for the dev—what if what someone wants a certain feature that’s not the ideal for their workflow, or the app’s purpose in the eyes of the dev? The Golden Rule, by grounding features and workflows in respect for the app purpose and core user functions, provides a more stable foundation in those cases.
A balanced approach is to treat others with the UI and UX they desire, within the application’s core purpose, and in alignment with your Why as the dev.

Can’t rely on hashtags for search.
Genuine users that post from the hip don’t hashtag content. Observed hashtags are oft seen as marketing tactics and gaming for followers and likes.
But the organic desirable content by those real, everyday users won’t be found by search that leans on hashtags to find content.

Laser sits forever and never dries out. Spins up easily. No liquid gumming functionality. I ran a Brother black-only unit for 15.5 years before finally retiring it for a color laser. I use mainly black only for documents but occasional color usage. I keep two black refills on hand and one color refill set. Cost is just a little more up front, but life is good with laser and it’s cheaper in the long run for sure. Works better, works longer, looks better, makes life better.

@nprofile…0wa2 this was a fantastic interview. This is the approach I’ve been using in my portfolio to three main effects:
1) portfolio growth
2) elimination of downside risk
3) reduction in what I need to charge in rent.
#3 was an unexpected discovery.
I have a meeting on calendars with some local and regional bank leadership to talk them through this structure. This is happening in corners of the world without headlines. It’s happening organically, because of the monetary features that Bitcoin brings to the equation.

That’s on the clients. They’re currently just migrating successful app structures; Twitter, insta, etc. Imagine when they truly embrace the capabilities of having a protocol that can access all content types and deliver convenient and diverse UX and use cases for users based on how the user sets that they want to engage with the content of each type.
For example. Maybe I have primal as it is, but with Olas image content added, I configure settings to just throw a 9-up tile of the 9 most recent Olas images of each user I follow into my main feed each day. If I engage with it, it’ll either take me to my Olas image content type feed in Primal or in Olas or to that user’s image feed specifically.
Or maybe Olas images that correlate with an event content type that is happening within 10 miles of me (see my NIP-G0 draft in github) gets an in-app notification for me because I hate blanking on cool stuff going on in town that I would have gone out to enjoy.
There’s so much more potential than cloning existing centralized app functionality. We don’t have a grid of walled gardens any longer. It’ll take devs time and experiments to expand the clients to capitalize on the capabilities.

Client segregation of network content to accommodate user intent? Instagram was awesome before Facebook bought it and added an algorithm for moms and zombies. It used to be a place where you posted photos of what you were up to, and active people could find similar active people and get a lens into their world in what felt like real time. That’s a different feel than Twitter for me. Primal is a Twitter clone/improvement. I’d love to have an Instagram back. And having a content-segregated feed like Reddit would be nice too.
I don’t like how I have to post all of my interests to all of my followers. I don’t think they’re interested in me as a person with diverse interests and views on life. I think they’re interested in seeing the areas of my interests that overlap with theirs.
For example, I like European travel, and I like building and using guns. I’m guessing that’s two different audiences, and my feed may feel messed up to them—so they’re likely to unfollow. I want segregation of content posted to different audiences and interests. Even privatized categories or groups would be nice.
I know it’s early for nostr. Not griping. I’m just clarifying saying that the more levers we give clients with content types, category designations, geo-tagging of event locations and relevance locations, the more use cases the protocol can elegantly accommodate.

That was mainly the media and some media adjacent BTC monkeys that got caught up in it. Anyone in the audience at btc2024 knew it was the votes he wanted. He’s made good on much of what he promised already and I don’t think he’s done. But RFK jr gets it. And hearing trump right after RFK was a stark contrast. End of 2023 I bought and used a pile of hardware wallets to evaluate to determine the most safe to recommend to new users that are still learning and not necessarily tech savvy. All were with Bitcoin-only focus, no shitcoin support, in $60-$200 range. After testing 7 of the most common that fit the target specs, coldcard didn’t end up at the top when looking through a UX, UI, and safety lens. I’m wanting to do this again in case my answers would change. Admittedly UI/UX are subjective and rely on my experience. So some of these criteria are my feel of the devices and enjoyability of use and my guess of reliability in long term use. This month I plan to revisit this testing among today’s hardware wallet options. I’ll also be able to adjust rankings based on using my favorites for an extended period.

My brother’s Ruger Wrangler stopped being awesome, so he gave it to me to tear into. I’ve never played gunsmith on a revolver before. But I figured it out! The spring loaded detent pin on the hammer that disengages the cylinder lock was jammed up. Got it all smooth again.
Yep! Nothing like a success on the first try to give you a false sense of confidence!
