The Silent Attack on British Democracy? My Reflections from the Front Line of the CBDC Debate
As the co-founder, director, and Head of Mining and Energy at Bitcoin Policy UK, I've monitored the development of Central Bank Digital Currencies through countless panels and forums over the last 18 months.
Historically, my calls for a balanced debate on CBDCs were met with scepticism, often dismissed by both The Digital Pound Foundation and the Bank of England, which refused to engage.
However, a shift occurred recently. In July, the Digital Pound Foundation invited my co-founder and Head of Policy, Freddie New ( @npub1wl3…znlx ), to speak at one of their panels. Freddie brought fresh insights to the panel, including Chaumian eCash, emphasising the need for a balanced debate.
Our latest event, "CBDCs: The Silent Attack on British Democracy?" held at The Legatum Institute, brought these issues into sharper focus. David Rennie from the Digital Pound Foundation attended—an act of bravery given the room's unanimous scepticism towards CBDCs. Previously, we had been sidelined from such discussions by the Foundation.
David, while a proponent of CBDCs, shares many of our privacy concerns, acknowledging the issues of media manipulation and the commoditisation of personal data. His openness to our perspectives on privacy was refreshing, though I find it slightly naïve. Individuals like David are well-intentioned, even if influenced by centralised control.
David stressed that the UK's CBDC design is still under discussion. He values programmability and believes it is essential for addressing issues like money laundering. While we diverge on the necessity and potential overreach of CBDCs, finding common ground on many aspects, differing primarily in our faith in the governance systems, was reassuring.
Last night's event reinforced that meaningful dialogue is possible. We must recognise the nuanced positions of individuals like David, navigating complex issues with genuine intent for public good.
David supports a digital pound that is well-designed in terms of its technical, operational, and governance structures. Although I remain sceptical given the track record of other countries and the apparent lack of understanding from our institutions, it gave me hope to see his good intentions.
We will continue to advocate for a financial framework that respects individual liberties and addresses the risks of centralisation. The journey is long, but the dialogue at events like these ensures that all voices, however critical, are part of shaping the future of our financial systems.
CBDCs still concern me deeply, and I will do everything in my power to oppose them. It was reassuring to know there are well-intentioned people on the other side, however misguided.
Through all these discussions and conferences, one thing remains crystal clear to me: Bitcoin is inevitable, and I have no doubt it. None of the proposed solutions even come close to matching its potential. ⚡️

There are three main characters and two are experienced with drugs, and one is not and is enquiring about the experiences that each drug is. Each new act is about a specific drug experience and creating a whole musical production that fits the aesthetics of that specific experience. The last two scenes they try all the drugs at once, go totally overboard and then have a final scene where they talk about moderation and sobriety and why those are great things too.

Historically, my calls for a balanced debate on CBDCs were met with scepticism, often dismissed by both The Digital Pound Foundation and the Bank of England, which refused to engage.
However, a shift occurred recently. In July, the Digital Pound Foundation invited my co-founder and Head of Policy, Freddie New ( @npub1wl3…znlx ), to speak at one of their panels. Freddie brought fresh insights to the panel, including Chaumian eCash, emphasising the need for a balanced debate.
Our latest event, "CBDCs: The Silent Attack on British Democracy?" held at The Legatum Institute, brought these issues into sharper focus. David Rennie from the Digital Pound Foundation attended—an act of bravery given the room's unanimous scepticism towards CBDCs. Previously, we had been sidelined from such discussions by the Foundation.
David, while a proponent of CBDCs, shares many of our privacy concerns, acknowledging the issues of media manipulation and the commoditisation of personal data. His openness to our perspectives on privacy was refreshing, though I find it slightly naïve. Individuals like David are well-intentioned, even if influenced by centralised control.
David stressed that the UK's CBDC design is still under discussion. He values programmability and believes it is essential for addressing issues like money laundering. While we diverge on the necessity and potential overreach of CBDCs, finding common ground on many aspects, differing primarily in our faith in the governance systems, was reassuring.
Last night's event reinforced that meaningful dialogue is possible. We must recognise the nuanced positions of individuals like David, navigating complex issues with genuine intent for public good.
David supports a digital pound that is well-designed in terms of its technical, operational, and governance structures. Although I remain sceptical given the track record of other countries and the apparent lack of understanding from our institutions, it gave me hope to see his good intentions.
We will continue to advocate for a financial framework that respects individual liberties and addresses the risks of centralisation. The journey is long, but the dialogue at events like these ensures that all voices, however critical, are part of shaping the future of our financial systems.
CBDCs still concern me deeply, and I will do everything in my power to oppose them. It was reassuring to know there are well-intentioned people on the other side, however misguided.
Through all these discussions and conferences, one thing remains crystal clear to me: Bitcoin is inevitable, and I have no doubt it. None of the proposed solutions even come close to matching its potential. ⚡️

I’ve been working on a musical for a number of years. It’s called:
Drugs: The Musical
There are three main characters and two are experienced with drugs, and one is not and is enquiring about the experiences that each drug is. Each new act is about a specific drug experience and creating a whole musical production that fits the aesthetics of that specific experience. The last two scenes they try all the drugs at once, go totally overboard and then have a final scene where they talk about moderation and sobriety and why those are great things too.

Quite a lot of the TV series KAOS was filmed near me in Andalucia. Sevilla (Military Historical Museum) and Málaga areas primarily but also in one of my favourite hiking destinations, the Tavernas desert badlands of Almeria. The "Cave" nightclub in the series is in fact the old restaurant by the Tavernas exit of the A92 motorway turnoff. Bit warm to be walking below 2000 meters but the cool breeze and forest foliage helped. Today we did a walk in the Sierra de Huetor, combining the Cañada del Senero with an off piste ascent of Cerro del Corza 1606m.
My first visit to Cerro del Corza. It's a wonderful viewpoint for not only the Sierra Nevada, but also the Majaliar and Peñon de la Mata peaks.

So it's not really a pool in that sense, just lowering the barrier to entry for solo miners.
CKpool charges a small fee for this (has been around a long time), Public Pool is newer and does not charge a fee.
Yeah if you want someone to create block templates for you, consider Public Pool with zero fees.

The Mighty Alcazaba
Alcazaba 3369m is the 3rd highest peak in the Sierra Nevada and yet, in my opinion, it is undoubtedly the finest. Mulhacen, being the highest, is very popular and has a refuge close by. Veleta is easily accessible so has many people visiting it's summit. Alcazaba though, needs a bit more thought.
It's a more remote peak so you have either a very long and ardous day or you have to wild camp. I would always choose to wild camp, usually at the upper lakes of Siete Lagunas or Laguna de las Calderetas to the north.
Alcazaba, "The Fortress", is well named. It is guarded on 3 sides by cliffs, although there are trekking ways through those defences. A few days ago we started from Laguna de Borreguil (Siete Lagunas) and reached the Alcazaba summit plateau via a steep scree gully named "El Colaero", which brought us out at the col between Puntal de la Cornisa 3316m and Peñon del Globo 3296m. It's a short stroll from there to Alcazaba summit.
For something different we came back to Siete Lagunas via Peñon del Globo and the rough, mainly pathless ridge heading south east. We had taken our time, savouring the situations, but this meant we had missed the bus connection from Alto de Chorillo, adding another hour and a half walk in the hot sun down the dirt track.

The hike into the valley of the "Siete Lagunas" a couple of days ago involved passing two small hidden lakes, rarely visited by other humans. Laguna Prado Negro and another further north which doesn't have a name. It should, it's stunning! The wonderful wild side of the Sierra Nevada that few others get to see.

I have started to realize that the price is driven by leverage manipulation on exchanges, that pricing mechanism is a small fraction of the market. The majority of #BTC / #Bitcoin holders do not trade BTC and do not influence the price. They are in the stands watching the game.
Expect more volatility upwards and downside pressure as the leverage is there and will be sniped. Remove the exchange element and you realise the price of BTC is 1 BTC = 1 BTC not what the exchanges are telling you the price is.
The best you can do is that you keep some cash on hand so that you do not sell BTC at he wrong time when needed for life impacts.
I felt bad about not having all my cash in BTC and recently had a car breakdown, a dental expense, A dog vet bill and home repair expenses all in 6-weeks. If I did not have the cash to pay for those I would've had to sell some BTC at the wrong market time.
Some will say use debt in those instances but I just do not follow that principal in life. A cash & BTC life is a lower stress life.

以前互联网行业基本上天使轮不要求回购的，因为天使都回购，或者类似无限连带，一大批创业者就不敢拿钱上路了，因为太流氓了。。一般都是后面的轮次，钱多了，要回购，正常也是公司回购，不会公司回购不了，让个人来还。
现在情况都变了，天使轮开始是明股实债，我们谈的几家基本都是这样，而且事先说好，免得花时间谈还浪费双方感情。
基于目前这个情况，我感觉创业环境是越来越糟糕了，除非创业者自身非常有钱，像雷军当年一样，豪赌1亿美金创办小米。。或者创业者有非凡的地位， 比如祖上是XX或者XX这种。再有就是超级明星团队，注意普通团队还不行（像我们这个全贵清博士团队属于普通团队）。 像我这种寒门创业应该越来越少了。
郑刚我了解一些，他其实也不是投资人，他是GP，也就是管理资金的，出资方是LP。他早年投了陌陌的老板唐岩，一炮而红，发了财。然后唐老板把老罗介绍给了他，然后先后不断投资据说是投了1个多亿，可以是倾其所有支持老罗，这1个多亿都打水漂了，因为没有签无限连带，然后就盯着1500万借款，那个也是公司对公司的借款。现在老罗那个公司也卖个字节了，按理说这个债务应该找字节，不应该在老罗。。
具体细节其实我们外人也掌握不了那么细节，总之能打官司绝不会在网上吵，我倾向于郑刚没有石锤证据，行业内经验也不足，流氓没有流氓到位（表面流氓不是真流氓），现在东拉西扯，其实没啥意思。
然后就是这个老罗说的郑刚情绪不稳定的事情，郑刚是GP也有来自LP的压力，很多事情如果违规操作的，比如借出去的这1500万，可能LP就会要求郑刚来还，那1个多亿投资款LP是认可的，没有就没有了，但是这个1500万，没准要郑刚自己来赔偿，这个就是郑刚苦苦要这个钱的原因，我猜啊。
我挺同情郑刚的，而罗永浩因为真诚的还债，信用没破产，而且信用还更值钱了。反观郑刚同志，现在不会有创业者敢拿他的钱了，当然也没有LP敢信任他了，基本在这行已经没法生存，我建议放弃仇恨，快速化解，尽快处置，才是最大化收益的方式。

关于锤子科技投资人郑刚长期造谣诽谤的真相澄清

从去年一月份开始，在长达一年半多的时间里，锤子科技的投资人郑刚，在社交网络和一些自媒体上，无数次对我进行了人身攻击、诽谤和造谣中伤。第一次发生的时候，我以冷静和心平气和的方式及时做了回应澄清（详见这里）。之后虽然郑刚一直在网上继续胡搅蛮缠和谩骂到今天，但绝大多数正派体面的正规媒体没有再跟进，所以我也就没有再理会。
今年我因为对“铁/董事件”仗义执言，再度成为舆论热点时，郑刚也火力全开，上窜下跳，把泼了一年多的脏水重新端出来又密集泼了一遍。这一次，因为我刚好处在舆论热点，所以导致一批唯恐天下不乱的无良自媒体再度跟进，对公司和我个人声誉造成了很大的不良影响。目前公司法务已经完成了相关证据和材料的取证，稍后将对郑刚长期的造谣、诽谤、中伤行为进行正式起诉。
郑刚在过去的一年多里，发布了不计其数的视频和图文来恶意中伤我，其中绝大多数内容，都是不包含事实或歪曲事实的谩骂和发泄，下面我挑最主要的几条予以澄清。
一. 关于郑刚逼我回购锤子科技股份官司的真相
尽管当年的风险投资协议上有白纸黑字的清晰条款注明，锤子科技的投资股东如果要强制我回购锤子科技的股份（这个“强制回购”的意思就是投资失败后，投资方逼创始人偿还投资本金），必须有超过50%的投资人股东签字同意才能触发回购。但郑刚折腾了半天，也只拉拢了20%多的投资人一起逼我回购，离法律协议明文约定的50%相去甚远。
其中的两个投资人还跟我私下表示，他们之所以跟郑刚站在一起，也只是为了跟自己上家的金主有个交待，还希望我能谅解。虽然我没跟他们一般见识，但这事也确实很难消化，让我想起那句著名的、黑暗丑陋的印度诗歌，“你已经吞下了不少苦药，请再勇敢地喝下这杯毒酒吧”。
于情于理于法，郑刚逼我回购的行为都完全不成立。强行打诉讼官司的话，除非郑刚及其同伙有本事制造法制黑幕和冤假错案，否则绝无可能成功（因为投资协议附带保密条款，所以上述“白纸黑字的清晰条款”我不方便贴出来，之前协议全文已提交给了仲裁法庭），但是郑刚还是发起了无赖诉讼逼我回购。多数投资人跟创业者耍无赖、打流氓官司时，因为自己知道丢人，讲究的是“闷声耍流氓”。郑刚非但不以为耻，还在社交媒体上把自己赤裸裸的无赖行为说得义正辞严。
在这里也顺便说明一下， 如果投资人集体逼我回购成功的话，现实利益上，明显对锤子科技的投资机构有好处，但为什么这么多投资人，并没有像郑刚他们一样逼我回购呢？这里面的原因比较复杂，但一般说来，正规的、体面的、爱惜声誉的投资机构不会在其所投企业的创始人只是创业失败，并无其他严重渎职或违法违规行为的情况下，逼迫其回购股份，因为这种蛮不讲理的恶劣行径，也会严重影响投资机构的名声和信誉。
二. 关于“锤子科技跟郑刚借了1500万到期不还”的真相
郑刚多次表示，当年锤子科技资金周转出现问题时，向郑刚的投资机构借过1500万，后来借款到期后赖账不还，并据此批评我人品有问题。
首先，锤子科技当年向郑刚的机构借款是属实的，到期后没还也属实。但为什么会这样呢？因为这一笔公司对公司的借款到期之前，自称是我的朋友的郑刚，已经发起了逼我回购的无赖诉讼，并且连续几个月天天在网上造谣诽谤对我进行侮辱和中伤。所以当郑刚联系锤子科技要求还款时，我觉得又好气又好笑，就让同事答复他：如果你要谈朋友感情，那我就个人掏腰包替锤子科技公司还你们公司这笔钱，但既然谈朋友感情，你就不能跟我耍无赖，在明明有白字黑字条款的情况下还打流氓官司逼我回购，也不能天天在网上辱骂我；如果你要跟我不谈朋友感情，一切公事公办，那公对公的借款，就不要让我个人替公司还款，这才叫公事公办。
其实，以我一贯的厚道，十多个亿的公司债务都主动承接下来，并完成了过半，难道会真的不替公司还这一点点钱吗？但是，以郑刚这一年多来毫无道德底线的无赖操作，这笔钱如果我个人替锤子科技还给他的公司，也一定是真还传大结局前，最后最后最最后的一笔^_^ 并且给他的前提条件是要他拍摄一段网络视频，表情极度诚恳地认错道歉，并做出绝不对任何创业者再犯下这类流氓恶行的郑重承诺。如果到时候郑刚有种，死要面子不要钱，我就给他点个大大的赞，然后把这笔钱捐作公益用途。
后来郑刚要求来我这里谈谈，我们最后见面谈了一个多小时。整个过程里，他头脑混乱，颠三倒四地说了无数废话蠢话，想表达的基本意思就是，1. 我们好歹是朋友，你不能这样对我，你个人一定要替你们公司还我们公司的钱；2. 我现在很困难，压力很大，所以必须跟你打这个无赖官司逼你回购，否则就得我自己回购。
我听了半天，确定没听错后，几乎要疯掉，这么无耻的话，一个人怎么能说得出口呢？我只好再次重申，我们之间可以谈朋友感情；也可以不谈感情，公事公办。随便你选哪个，我都能接受。但不能对你有利的地方，你就选朋友感情；对你不利的地方，你就选公事公办。这是典型的、病态的，“既要、又要、还要”。郑刚听完，苦着脸把他的蠢话又跟我重复了好几遍，我只好让同事把他送走了。
三. 关于郑刚指责我没给锤子科技老股东分享再创业利益的真相
为了方便说清楚这件事，我先拉一个清单在这里：
1. 2018年锤子科技走不下去的时候，第一次自救的尝试，是锤子科技内部团队孵化的子弹短信项目。该项目独立出去成立公司时，因为是内部孵化的项目，锤子科技直接占了25%的原始股份。
2. 锤子科技和子弹短信相继失败后，2019年，我为了赚快钱还债，去做了小野科技。但只做了大半年，就因为行业政策方面的巨大不确定性，还没来得及给锤子科技的老股东做完股权方案，就选择淡出了这个行业。
3. 2020年春节后，启动直播电商公司，设计公司的股权架构方案时，我跟我的合伙人也为锤子科技的老股东们做了5%的原始股方案（因为直播公司一开张就盈利，我们甚至高高兴兴地为更早的“老罗英语培训”的三位投资股东，和锤子科技的几位合伙人，以及一批锤子科技失败后不离不弃的老兄弟老姐妹，即“甄嬛和她的朋友们”，也都做了“亲友股”方案）。但因为政策合规性和流程，以及一些约束性协议方面的问题，这部分股权要到2025年1月31日前后，才能全部落实给这些老股东、老合伙人和老同事。
4. 2022年启动细红线科技公司时，因为细红线是一开始就是拿投资启动的公司，所以第一天就为锤子科技的老股东们留出了5%的原始股份。
去年一月，郑刚突然在网上对我发难，按他本人的说法，原因是，
1. 郑刚觉得我给锤子科技的老股东留了细红线的5%原始股太少了；
2. 郑刚觉得我不应该在给锤子科技的老股东分细红线股份的签字协议上，要求他们领取股份的同时，书面声明放弃锤子科技股份的回购权；
3. 郑刚觉得我做过的这几家公司，只有直播电商公司最后是赚了钱的，但这家公司并没有给锤子科技的老股东分股份。
针对这几条，我在这里尽量给出清晰明了的答复：
1. 一个成年人，甚至不必是专业的投资人，就得明白做投资是有赔有赚的。投资不是借款，自己决策的风险投资失败的时候，就得认。承受不了这个结果对创业者下黑手的，肯定是邪恶的资本家；承受不了这个结果跟创业者闹脾气，胡搅蛮缠，到处泼脏水的，肯定是巨婴资本家。
2. 创业者拿基金的投资，只要尽了全力，亏钱后，并没有法律和商业伦理方面的责任。当然，从情感和道义上，如果创业者愿意在下一创业项目启动时，为前一个项目亏了钱的投资者做一些补偿，是非常重情义的做法。但这不是创业者的义务和本分，也不是常规做法。
3. 郑刚觉得我给锤子科技的老投资者们在新公司里留的股份太少，还因此辱骂我。那就请郑刚这位“专业投资人”说说，中国这十几二十年的科技创业潮，有百分之几的连环创业者，是在再创业时给旧公司的老股东们，几乎每次都做了5%左右的原始股权方案的？
4. 新公司成立并融资时，投资人要求创业者披露并消除身上的财务风险及隐患，是专业投资机构的常规做法。否则新公司将来成功了，之前旧公司的某些老股东如果发起恶意诉讼，就会让新公司和创始人都蒙受巨大损失。我按照专业投资机构的风控要求，请那些自愿领取细红线原始股权的锤子科技老股东，领取时配套签署放弃回购主张的声明，是再自然不过的常规做法。如果非说这件事有什么不正常、不自然，那就是大部分的再创业者，通常不会为旧公司的老股东们做这种原始股方案。
郑刚作为专业投资者，不可能不知道这些行业常识，但他在网上就此事对我胡搅蛮缠时，拿不出事实和道理，只会失控地发泄和拙劣地煽情，鬼扯什么“你为什么要伤这么多投资人的心？”“别人却在寒风中瑟瑟发抖”，这只能理解为非傻即坏了。
5. 最后说一下，交个朋友为锤子科技老股东做的5%原始股权方案，明年一月底落实时，将按照当年锤子科技投资比例分配给锤子科技的老股东，但不包括郑刚，以及跟郑刚沆瀣一气，共同发起无赖诉讼的那部分锤子科技股东。我做这个决策的时候，同事们都觉得特别爽，以为我快意恩仇。其实我没想那些，我只是觉得以德报怨，何以报德，让那些缺德的股东拿不到，让那些有德行的股东因此多分一些，肯定是更合理的安排。
四. 关于为什么在长达一年半的时间里，我任由郑刚在网上造谣诽谤侮辱我，没有对其进行还击的真相
首先，作为拿了投资，并亏掉了钱的创业者，无论面对多糟糕、多蛮不讲理的投资人，无论遭遇投资人多恶劣、多不择手段的攻击和迫害，都最好能保持沉默，否则就很容易被不了解真相的愚夫愚妇不由分说地批评为“忘恩负义”，就好像我年轻时...... 你懂的^_^
其次，在做锤子科技那些年里，我和郑刚，除了投资者和被投资者的正常关系之外，也有过对产品的很多交流，和不止一次的互帮互助行为，不能说完全没有个人感情。这也是我不到万不得已，不愿意反目成仇的一部分原因。
郑刚这个人脑子一直比较混乱，没什么逻辑，但过去一直是一个做事很积极，很有热情的人。这些年也许是因为投资行业压力太大，他的变化非常明显，很多时候显得不是很正常，好像完全丧失了一个成年人的基本自控能力。
比如时不时半夜在社交媒体上写一些情绪失控的文字骂人，天亮了起来又急忙删掉。比如对我又是发起诉讼又是辱骂攻击，折腾一段时间感觉好像改变不了什么，于是就给我发信息套交情说软话，要我“如果还能念着对方哪怕一点点的关系”如何如何，因为他的要求非常荒唐，我不知道该如何回复，他看我没有回馈，过几天又到网上破口大骂。上文所述的公司债务问题发生时，他感觉不妙，又来找我和颜悦色地谈和解，提无理要求被拒后，回去又拼命泼脏水......
这几年郑刚最不正常的一次是，他跟一个小明星闹离婚时，情绪失控，带了一票人半夜去女方家抢走了孩子，新闻报道中说他抢孩子时还殴打了老婆和老丈人，事件的很多细节令人咋舌，事后郑刚被公安拘留了36天，郑刚出来后否认殴打老婆和老丈人的指控，但媒体证实他抢孩子和被拘留36天属实（以上都是媒体大规模报道过的公开信息，即著名的“郑刚夺子事件”）。
很多人奇怪以我的坏脾气，怎么会让郑刚连续骂了一年半多竟然也不还击，甚至因此觉得我理亏或有什么把柄在他手里。其实是因为这些年，我看着他渐渐变得越来越不正常，虽然有时候被他搞得也很生气，但念着过去的情份，也是多少有些难过的。所以如果没有无良媒体跟进炒作，导致事实上发生对我和公司的严重负面影响，我尽量都选择能忍则忍。但这件事闹到现在这样，也只能公开反驳和澄清了。
除了上述澄清的内容，郑刚这一年半里对我的侮辱谩骂，基本上都是纯粹失控的情绪发泄，以及阴险的恶意构陷，不值一驳。有兴趣多看一些的朋友，不怕恶心的话，可以自行在社交媒体里搜索“郑刚 + 罗永浩”。

除了郑刚之外，这段时期网上还有很多烂人和精神病人，对我和“真还传”造了大量的谣言，其中个别的还流传较广。接下来我和我的团队也会不定期写文章、拍视频，做相应的辟谣工作。
自从Runway流出了youtube高质量下载源以后，我们看了下，大概300多万4K高清视频，我们就开始猛搞，每天大概搬50TB数据，全搬下来预计5PB，需要3个月时间。现在已经一个月过去了，搬了1PB，前期是有点慢了，后面还有2个月，全弄下来以后，放腾讯云上免费服务社会，特别是研究界的同仁。
今天和一个研究界的朋友交流，他们现在不仅缺数据，还缺算力，希望我们能助力，算力这个东西没有复卖性，便宜渠道有，但是也便宜不了太多，这个可能还真是一个瓶颈。我们也在和腾讯云沟通，看看能不能给研究界免费的算力扶持，这样以来，数据也免费，算力也免费（当然电也免费），能够涌现出一些了不起的成果出来。

我最近真有一个体会，那就是红楼梦王熙凤说的“大有大的难处”。。你看pdd大吧，大了容易被搞，内外都被搞。好容易英X达不怎么被搞，但是架不住增长的不可持续性。
最终说来说去就是可持续性的问题，你看英伟达数据中心收益占比过高80%+，那上个季度不也这么高吗？然后就是怀疑云主机厂商都买完了，谁还会持续买呢？老黄电话会议说多主权国家都在买，而且会持续买，还提到算力租赁公司也在买。。
还有说英X达这个硬件利润太高了，不是做基础设施的思路。英X达也在改变，也在研究定制化硬件降低价格，其实也在调整。
pdd就更风雨飘摇了，10倍动态PE（10年回本啊同志们）都可怜巴巴的猛跌。人家英X达再怎么也是50倍PE。。pdd再怎么有风险，在怎么，至少账面上还可以，总比投给目前账面上都不好的要强吧。。你就说中概，还有哪家能比多多能打？
现在投资都难，以至于巴爷说现在都看不到能投的票子了，也是有道理，小有问题，大也有问题，不增长有问题，增长但是不能持续增长也有问题。能持续增长，但是不能持续超期望增长也有问题。。

One of the big macro questions is when will the US banking system run into the liquidity floor, requiring the Fed to end quantitative tightening? Due to current regulations and the "ample reserve" regime, banks generally have liquidity requirements relative to their overall size, and their overall size keeps growing nominally.
-Big banks ran into the liquidity floor in September 2019 at $1.5 trillion with the repo spike, and the Fed had to end quantitative tightening and resume mild quantitative easing (which was then overshadowed by the giga-liquidity-bazooka in 2020/2021).
-Smaller banks ran into the liquidity floor in March 2023 at $3.0 trillion (the new floor) with the regional bank crisis. Both the Fed and the Treasury provided liquidity in response, although the Fed has maintained quantitative tightening. Liquidity has been maintained above that level without being greatly elevated, which is probably what would have happened post-2019 if not for the pandemic/lockdown stuff thereafter.
The New York Fed thinks the liquidity floor will be reached sometime in 2025, and that they'll go back to gradual balance sheet expansion then. Andy Constan, formerly of Bridgewater, thinks it'll be late 2025. I debate him a bit on this since both of us cover this closely, and I generally think it'll be mid 2025, although there are enough moving variables that neither early 2025 or late 2025 would surprise me, so conservatively I say "by the end of 2025."
I was talking to a large institutional investor today, and he said that his contact who is a major repo operator at an investment bank, thinks the current floor is now $3.3 trillion, which is roughly where it is currently. That basically means any further quantitative tightening has to be offset by reverse repo drainage, or they'll have a repo issue and the Fed will need to end QT. This is all kind of rambling but generally when that liquidity floor is reached and is responded to, it tends to be good for a lot of liquidity-driven assets, including bitcoin. And it'll probably be with a whimper more than a bang, kind of like the September 2019 repo crisis that nobody other than macro nerds remember.

Precisely! I have worked all over the world and there is a big market for people from the western countries. The never ending foreigner train will also stop once these people find out what sort of craziness is going on in the US. The American Dream is what brings most people here. Taxes have been low compared to every EU country. Yes people have to deal with the nightmare of health care and educational systems but for young foreigners US was always the place to come and make money. Raising taxes will end this period of time.

We only had one test remaining. She said she was experiencing period pain and that it would likely yield another negative result. So, I already fell asleep when she woke me up to ask if I could help her read the test. I wasn't fully awake yet so my mind wasn't processing much. I got out of bed to look at the test results, seeing two lines with one being very faint. That still counts as positive result. Not wanting to get my hopes too high, we drove to Walgreens at 2am and purchased more tests. Did we take enough tests? 😂 All of them came back positive. Tears of joy. I'm going to become a Dad! What an incredible feeling it is.

1-4 is bad bad bad. 4-5 is good. It's actually a binary system because almost everyone who doesn't hate it, gives it a 4 or 5.
Items with lots of ratings usually have 4+ because of the way things average out, whereas newcomers and small businesses tend to have terrible ratings because one bad rating can skew the whole scale. You can terrorize or bankrupt small companies or creators with a few bad :star ratings. So, if they get some bad ratings, they will often ask friends, employees, etc. to login and give it some more good ones. 😅
It might be more fun to annoy you into blocking me. I'm strange like that.
Besides, they do so much computational magic on the stars that it's basically closer to what we're suggesting. They only count the stars directly, if they think the rating makes sense and is useful.

I went from v1.2.1 to v1.4.2, and in the new version I was able to use Amber to sign most events, interaction prompts were easier to understand, and the app seamlessly worked with multiple repo events from different maintainers. Looking forward to seeing where ngit goes in the future!

The vast majority of us are law-abiding citizens, who want no more than to be left alone. Why should we allow this relentless surveillance to continue unabated, and to permit governments to censor our speech and control our every action?
Big Brother Watch are doing great work fighting back against this insidious state attack, but what more can we as individuals do to resist?

This is not a thread intended to help you become a ghost, or to have any chance of really scrubbing yourself from the internet. But it’s a list of some simple steps that anyone can take, even if you’re not technically minded, to protect your data, to make yourself a little less obvious, and to be a little less apparent to a surveillance state than your neighbour.
It’s like the joke about two photographers in the savanna taking pictures of a lion. When the lion starts coming their way, licking its lips, one of them pulls on running shoes.

Can I surf anonymously?
It’s hard, but try using browsers that minimise the amount of data collection. The Brave browser is a decent option (brave.com). Alternatively, you can go a bit further, and use Tor (torproject.org/download/). DuckDuckGo have recently released their own privacy-focused browser - I’ve not yet tried this, but a link is here: duckduckgo.com/windows?source….
Each of these options should reduce the amount of data about you that’s silently collected in the background by Google, Apple or Microsoft. You can also use a service like Incogni (incogni.com ) to help scrub your data from the internet, to the extent that is possible.
Searching in Privacy:
We’ve already mentioned DuckDuckGo - they’re probably the best-known of the privacy-focused search engines. Try switching to them instead of Google or Bing:

Use a VPN:
You may have heard of VPNs (virtual private networks) and know that they’re useful in authoritarian countries (like the UK is fast becoming). However, you can use them anywhere, on your computer or your phone, to encrypt your data and mask your IP address, which can help protect your privacy and anonymity when you connect to the internet.
I personally use and recommend @npub168e…9uaw and I believe @npub1rxy…hnp8 uses them too. Amusingly, Mullvad were recently raided by the police, but couldn’t surrender any personal information about their customers, because they don’t collect it: theverge.com/2023/4/21/2369…
Also Mullvad accept #Bitcoin, if you’d prefer not to let your bank know that you’re paying for a VPN.
A private email and calendar:
So you’re now using a browser and a search engine that are collecting less of your personal information, and you’ve protected yourself with a VPN. However, every time you sign up for an online service, or a public wifi, you may be asked for your email address - and perhaps you don’t want to surrender this, to be sold on by those companies.
Simple fix - create a privacy-focused account. Over time, you may decide to replace your Gmail or Outlook with one of these entirely. I can recommend @npub1mea…qane who offer a suite of other productivity tools (including a calendar and cloud drive) that are all privacy focused: proton.me/mail. Note that you DON’T have to use your real name when signing up, if you want to preserve your privacy even further.
A new service offering similar products is Tuta Privacy. They look interesting but I’ve not trialled them yet: tuta.com/pricing
De-Google your phone!
If you want to go even further, and don’t mind tinkering with software and hardware, you could get yourself an old Google Pixel and experiment with De-Googling your phone. Privacy-focused operating systems such as @npub1235…0ht5 are relatively easy to install. But do make sure you buy an unlocked Pixel using cash!

After a successful installation, you should have a fully functioning phone that isn’t controlled by a large corporation obsessed with tracking you. You can still run Android apps (even using a sandboxed Google Play Store) or by directly installing the .apks on your new phone.
Get what you want - privately:
Once you’ve got a nicely de-Googled phone, you’ll need a SIM card and a new number. I can’t recommend @bitrefill enough; not only can you buy an e-SIM from them, using #Bitcoin, but you can also top it up, and buy gift cards and vouchers for almost anything you might want (remember to sign up using your new Proton Mail address though….).
For #Bitcoin purchases, ideally use a self-custody Lightning wallet to improve Bitcoin’s relatively poor privacy protections. I have tried and can recommend each of Aqua from @npub1jan…x52y and @npub148q…jra7. Also, although it is multi-currency, @npub1j9q…s2yg are doing some interesting things with #Bitcoin silent payments, and @npub1tr4…2y5g, whose views and expertise I trust on these matters, has recently joined their team. You can also use a service like @npub1536…pswl or @npub1yul…ncdu to buy #Bitcoin privately without KYC.
Private messaging:
Try @npub1n03…h0ky. It’s end to end encrypted, and can be used both for calls and messaging. Signal’s president, Meredith Whittaker, has done sterling work fighting back against bad laws and government overreach.

Can I block facial recognition?
We’re now getting into more esoteric levels of personal protection, and I have to say I have not tested these products. However, given the increasing noise in the UK about the ubiquity of personal surveillance and facial recognition, I might be tempted to try. These glasses claim to be able to block and scramble facial recognition technology (although they’ll be ineffective against gait-recognition tech. Not sure what to do about that other than to wear pebbles in our shoes?)

生活在日本的中国人，有些对日本怀着无上崇拜和敬畏。他们把日本的一切都当成标准答案，当作行动规范。推特上，你说一句日本不好，他们马上就和你干。这些人无法平视日本，只会仰视，在日本紧张地活着，复刻日本人的一切，鄙视那些没有完全复刻的人。
我写过很多日本人好的一面。日本很多方面的确好，他们的自肃精神的确优于世界上绝大多数国家的国民。但是，日本人也是人，日本社会也是正常的人类社会，也会有各种别的社会都存在的不靠谱。生活在这里，我们应该做到客观以对，不吹不黑。
一
一位生活在西日本的朋友抽签买到了一张演唱会的门票，欣喜若狂，要到东京来参加演唱会，届时希望住我家。为了欢迎她的到来，我们拉了一个群，都是她的同学朋友，计划届时在我家办一次聚会。
我在家打扫屋子，准备食材，一切准备就绪、离演唱会不到2天的时候，她突然在群里说：对不起，我发烧，检查发现是新冠，不能去传染你们。只能取消了。
我们都表示理解。的确，就是得了流感，也不应该传染给朋友。我觉得这位平常不太靠谱的朋友，这次挺靠谱的。这也是日本人的一般做法，不给别人添麻烦。换我我也会这么做。
演唱会结束两天后，这位女性朋友没憋住，在群里说：其实吧，我没忍住，还是去东京参加演唱会了。（这里日语有固定的可爱型句式.......XXXちゃった。）
大家都没回复。只有一位一直心直口快的朋友说了一句：还是不要传染给别人的好。
另一位朋友私下说，不愿意传染给我们几位朋友，却去几千人的演唱会上投毒。

一位朋友联络我，说我们共同的两位朋友订婚了，她想组织一个“惊喜订婚派对”（Surprise Engagement Party）。这个名词我都没听说过，查了一下才知道是由新人的亲友秘密策划、在新人毫无准备的情况下举办的惊喜庆祝会，一般是在新人订婚后的一段时间内举行。
挺让我犯难的。那天我得接待国内来的一个朋友，还有别的行程安排，脱不开身。但是，那两位新人，也都是我的朋友，婚约庆祝这种大事，我不去不太好。
努力调整行程，大热天准备好礼物，去参加派对。结果一帮日本朋友稀稀拉拉，两位新人到了，还有一半人没到齐。终于人到齐了，大家各种Cheers干杯庆贺。
我觉得两位新人表情不太对劲，虽然开心也感谢大家的贴心，但似乎没有放开庆祝，似有隐情。
我在阳台上，新人女孩走过来。我说她看起来似乎不太开心，有什么问题吗？何かあった？
女孩说，我不知道该怎么说，也不知道该不该说。这时候，新人男子也走过来加入谈话。
男子表情非常为难地说：其实，上个月，我们已经结婚了，只是没告诉大家，也没人问我们。说完，男士脸上的表情是一般日本人常有的困る痛苦状。
我说既然结婚你们没有告诉大家，也就没有必要在派对上说了，让大家玩的愉快吧。就当是一次延迟的庆祝。
我在想，你办派对之前，难道不在闲聊中打听打听新人计划何时结婚，准备办什么样的婚礼？

昨天计划4位朋友去中华街吃饭，之后我开车拉他们去20公里外的Costco购物。几位朋友从未去过Costco，都期待已久。
早上，在我出发之前，一位男性友人打来电话，说今天有另一对夫妇也会参加，问我可以不？我说最好别，因为我的车坐不下。友人沉默了。我问：你已经和他们说了？
友人说，不是，是那谁谁谁（女性）昨晚和他们在一起喝酒，顺口说出来的。
友人看我在沉默，说要不就告诉他们别去了。我说别啊，他们也是我的朋友，回头知道是我不让他们去的，那以后咋处呢。让他们去吧。
说完，我就花时间把车子的后备箱清理干净，把后面的两个座椅放下了，这样车的问题就解决了。
中华街午餐结束，前往Costco时我突然想起，我只有两张Costco会员卡，一张主卡一张副卡。每张卡只能进去两个人，而我们有6个人。
没办法，我们也顾不上什么manner，像电影上过日军关卡一样，用手上的两张卡把6个人渡了进去。对于这样マナー悪い礼仪不正确的事，大家还都觉得挺好玩的。
这样的故事，我能写到明天早晨，太多太多。举这几个例子，不是想论是与非，只是想说日本社会中，也有很多人活得放松，大剌剌的，没那么讲究。不靠谱也是正常现象，他们也是人。
他们放松，我们就没必要紧张兮兮，对自己同胞吹毛求疵，鸡蛋里挑骨头，任何一件小事都能拿出来黑一下，批判一番。没必要精日华黑到病态的地步。

Because I also write about Bitcoin and Nostr, the people solely interested in OtherTopics don't follow me.
Do I need another npub for OtherTopics, or something? I have so much trouble rotating between npubs, tho. I have to keep switching back and forth, but keep forgetting, so npubs wait a week for a response and give up on me.

马斯克刚刚发文流出了Cortex训练中心内部视频。。此前马斯克透露说有10万张H100或H200英伟达显卡，看上去是完全建成了。。这里面非常耐人寻味。
首先这么一大批芯片是插队生产的，还是提前下的订单，我个人判断不太像插队生产，否则说明队伍里都是散户订单，大客户订单，怎么可能容忍再插入一个这么庞大的客户。
其次，此前字节跳动也好，腾讯也好，这些大厂下的订单都在3-5万张卡，老马一下子就是10万张，而且看样子都交付了，不知道国内这些大厂下的单子都做好了没有。。这个非常关键，我虽然知道一些情报但是不能对外讲。。

37mm is the current legal limit.
40mm is considered a "destructive device" currently.
You can buy hand grenades and I think even RPG rounds, but, you need to be quite fiat rich as you basically have to pay an additional $200 stamp per device, plus you'd need to be licensed by the ATF and usually your state level gubment.
You can, of course, roll your own, but, for me, having sufficient variety of firearms and ammo is more than enough. If a company sized element comes for me, I'm pretty boned and will likely be overwhelmed no matter what I do.

I’ve been off Twitter and all social media except for Nostr for a month now, and the results are hard to argue with.
I’ve started reading real books again (4 this month) and have noticed both my patience and attention increase noticeably. I also feel less angry and anxiety daily, along with being committed to my workout routine.
I found that Nostr has met my social media needs, most importantly, my own ability to self-limit with it. Nostr is a bit ‘boring’ compared to traditional social media because ITS NOT TRYING TO KILL YOU!!!
Controlling your own data isn’t nearly as important in terms of ownership, as it is about allowing that information to be used against you. All of your most intimate thoughts and feelings are data mining by massive corporations specifically to find emotional triggers for you, so they can sell you shit, or force thoughts on to you.
Fuck these people that run these companies that farm our emotions to sell us shit, and to work with corrupt government to censor our speech, sell out dissidents, and destroy our internet.
We are much, much, much more powerful than they will ever be because we don’t need force, corrosion, or permission to run these systems of social connections that they cannot destroy.
My month of social media detox has really lifted the veil from the hate industry complex that are all social media companies today. Stop prostitution your content, thoughts and powers to these shitty companies that enrich the scum of the earth, and empower illegal, unconstitutional and immoral government agencies from their dragnet surveillance.

我们在一级市场融资，基本就看第二部分，团队牛逼，故事牛逼，能快速交给下一棒投资机构或者能快速上市退出。就是一个快，资本哪有什么耐心，到时间达不到预期就拜拜，真的就是这么残酷，来的时候热情洋溢，走的时候也不会带有什么遗憾。
二级市场就更是这样了，你看pdd这次营收增长搞小了一些些，利润增长搞大了，资本怎么想呢，就是pdd想躺平捞鱼了，而不是想着扩大鱼塘面积，想象力就不行了啊。只要鱼塘面积还在疯狂扩大，想象力还在，股价就能给你猛上。赚钱没用的，你看我厂赚钱吧，一毛钱融资也融不到。。

100%换手率意味着手里的股票按持仓算全都买卖过一遍。2100%意味着换手了20多次，平均每个月1.7次。
每个月手里股票全部换手1.7次，两周多一点就一次。
那么这70%多的亏损里，摩擦成本就得多少钱了。
不能说全部吧，真的大多数甚至绝大多数资产管理人真的让人没有办法信任。
