I think it’s wildly fascinating that the default position is that men can’t feed their families without the foreign aid of a government. Think about that for a second. Men have fed their families for thousands of years without electricity, running water, strong currency, etc. And as we type on a keyboard from a privileged position, we say, “families are dying because other people won’t give them things”. Yes, war is bad. Yes, there are unacceptable civilian casualties. Yes, humans flourish more with energy infrastructures. But let’s not make the case that men aren’t responsible for and can’t feed their families unless a foreign government steps in.

I do disagree with you here. And this is a hard conversation, because some get sucked into Bitcoin becoming a religion and lose sight of first principles. I think Bitcoin will always be King, but it can’t scale. Lightening is great for small txs. Although it doesn’t support miners and it’s not final settlement. But it’s not without permission. Jack Mallers and Saylor spoke a great deal about this recently. Mallers has implanted USDT in Strike for 3rd-ish world countries. Saylor has laid out a framework for digital currency, and it was stable coins. The treasury needs new buyers of treasury bonds. Standard Chartered wrote and op-ed this month saying stable coins would buy 2 trillion USD worth of stable coins by 2028. They are going to need L1 rails. And first principles are first principles to me. POW, open-sourced, secure, fair-launched, decentralized, permissionless, etc. Those shouldn’t be exchanged. Kaspa provides those. Just like BTC. But Kaspa provides 10bps as of May 5th. Smart contracts are already being built by multiple companies. BTC will always be a store of value. I love BTC. I buy it every week regardless of price. But we can’t ignore that EVERY technology that’s ever been invented has been improved upon. That’s not to say it is obsolete. Only to say it will play a different role. It’s my opinion that BTC and Kaspa are the only two real currencies and everything else is a scam. I wish more in the BTC community were willing to objectively look at this.

In principle, you’re saying because there is a new asset that is a better form of money, there’s no reason to hold the old asset. While I understand what you’re saying, it doesn’t bear true in the real world. Look at gold and BTC. Just because BTC showed up, gold didn’t go to zero. It takes generations for value to transfer from one asset to another, and even then, the prior asset’s value doesn’t go to zero. It’s very hard to say winner takes all when that hasn’t been the case in all of history.

That’s part of the conversation. Most speak in generalities about a complex subject. Palestinians voted Hamas into power in 2006. Hamas was not the only militant group that went in on Oct 7, to include the Palestinian Islamic Jihad. In the end, the second greatest commandment in Islam is Jihad per the Hadiths (Sahih al-Bukhari, book 2, Hadith 25). And this isn’t spiritual Jihad within one’s self per Sahih Muslim, book 1, Hadith 149 where it is stated that the best Jihad is one where your horse is wounded and blood is shed. Sahih Muslim and Sahih al-Bukhari are among the most respected Hadiths in Islam. Not to mention Muhammad’s own biography (the earliest copy we have claims to have remove gruesome details) narrates Muhammad splitting a woman in two by tying seperate ends of her to two camels. Are all Muslim’s violent? No. But many of them don’t understand their religion, they only know what they are taught. Is war and death awful? Absolutely. But when Egypt (largely Muslim), as a neighbor, refuses to accept citizens from Palestine, what’s that say? The lack of understanding from anybody chanting from the river to the sea or free Palestine has no idea what they are talking about. That’s mostly what I see.

I differ some. I think in order for love to penetrate, there has to be real pain. It’s very hard in America anymore. There’s no failure. There’s no real pain. I completely agree. I by no means mean to discredit the very real emotions that come with being harmed or wronged by another. But can we point to the reality of a grievance or sin against us and claim there is no God because of the ugliness of this world? By no means. It is only to say we have free will and autonomy given to us.

I just saw this as well. It effectively makes cash a L2 on BTC. The bank that FDIC insures $250,000 needs cash (liabilities far outweigh assets at every bank). River makes money on the arbitrage and likely the % of revenue they generate for Lead Bank. You benefit as a holder of both BTC and cash.
One problems is obviously trust of full reserve holdings of your BTC. But River has gone out if their way to show proof of reserve. You could always remove a given admit of BTC after you made a little.
Another problem is supply of Bitcoin eventually. ETFs bought 9x the new issuance for the month of OCT. This amount of interest in BTC isn’t sustainable for long unless the price of BTC in USD goes parabolic.

There are two ways a substance can be granted GRAS status:
-Self-determination: The company determines that the substance is GRAS and voluntarily notifies the FDA.

Morally, I don’t think you know either of them, but only what media tells you. Morally, you and I are no better than they are (if you argue we are, you’re appealing to a standard that is above the law). Morally, they are sinners. Morally “gross”, is a blanket label and lacks any nuance. Applying a blanket label to the character of somebody you don’t personally know is nonsensical.
Yes, they are both competing for the same system. But the competition is not inherently bad. The “angle”, as you say, is everything. For example, one of them was literally given a nomination for the first time in our history, not voted to be a party nominee.
The system they are contending for has made all of our lives more challenging. Does the nature of the current system inform how we should chose for change? Absolutely. Is it helpful to assign the same arbitrary and malignant adjective to describe two candidates that could not be more in juxtaposition politically? Absolutely not.
