Been diving down the mortgage rabbit hole again lately
I’ve learnt about “alt doc” loan structures here in Australia
Essentially debt that can be issued against 1) a property and 2) an accountants signature
It’s very helpful for people who don’t want to sell BTC & might struggle to show serviceability
You certainly get stung on the interest rate of 8% plus (but would you rather pay for a more expensive loan by a few basis points or sell BTC & lose the cap growth potential?)
The irony being a 150k aud salary is easier to get a loan against than a strong balance sheet…

Been loving the “most zapped in 4 hours” browsing option in @npub12vk…pugg
What’s so fascinating is that often a post I interacted with is at the top
Spraying around 1000 sats (0.60$ aud) means that the note makes that category
1 - we’re so bloody early on this thing
2 - imagine what it will be like when the most zapped note is getting 10x that value (or 100x)
3 - it will be like a live ticker on the most valuable digital information globally
4 - instead of an algorithm catering content to my “attention” it is sound money payments
Really is mind-blowing the more I use and interact with Nostr

I really enjoy it when I see #Bitcoin framed as a “impact investment”
In 2018 I re-allocated into impact funds in a major way
I thought I could “make money & do good in the world”
That thesis proved to be largely incorrect
Bitcoin was the moment when I realised I could actually do it
Interestingly so many people I know from the “impact” space hate btc
It’s like they’re triggered by it… conditioning goes so deep
We have lots more work to do to educate!

Millions of Australians are coerced into the countries superfund industry
As I’ve realised today, a very small minority are aware of the fact they can buy #Bitcoin with that cash
Not only that, they can self-custody using a “self-managed superfund”
I’ve utilised it myself for a number of years, with amazing capital appreciation
What’s really hit home though, is that most people have no idea that can do this
Specific example: someone today has “I reckon 75k in my super” & is 40 years old
They’re not able to get liquidity until they’re over 60, so would be forced to HODL
What an AMAZING investment opportunity for the average person
Question is: how do we help them do it…?

I would publish on Ghost first, ie have a website for all content
I still like the idea of accumulating email addresses

I think of a podcast as production, publication, promotion
Production is not necessary per say to use Nostr
But publication. I never want to be cancelled. Eg Spotify for podcasters blocks all your RSS
Whilst promotion is clear in that you post about the pod here on Nostr only

Saw someone post about how painful it is using lots of different platforms as a blogger
Their solution was to go “all-in” on Substack
Not a bad choice actually, if status quo is the only way to go
But I wonder if they’ve even heard of Nostr?
Being able to create content for 1 place is much better
Whilst owning your data & contacts list is a game-changer
However the trade-offs remain huge in terms of eyeballs
Only time will alter the amount of attention Nostr receives

They wanted to see “traction”, “customer discovery”, & “validation” in order to proceed with an investment
Satoshi & the story that is #Bitcoin is the best thing example of how you can build things & people will come

I don’t refresh or check it all the time which I like
Whilst I don’t get lots of clickbait thrown at me
Saying that I like creating content & “it’s not who you know, it’s who knows you” is a sentiment I really like

All those websites that ask for an email, password, & login details to use the service
The most annoying are the one-time signup for things like a rental car
Then you change your email & they don’t know who you are when you message them
