The purpose of fiat is to exchange the assets .. and collect taxes .. besides being able to provide a least volatile price for the bread basket ..

Billions of people adopt a tool or software because it solves a unique problem !
- #Twitter gained momentum because cell phones were just launched and networks were bad .. before EDGE .. it allowed an SMS to reach thousands of activists ..
- #whatsapp solved a similar problem but in a different fashion . They saw cellular data is going to be all pervasive .. and SMS tech was bad .. they took the idea of messaging but made it super friendly and useful leveraging 3g and LTE .. groups came much later .. people gave up SMS in favor of whatsapp without a second thought .. twitter lost the momentum ..
- #facebook - however evil it may be - connected families and friends like no one else ..

This is how I see the ascent of #bitcoin
- it becomes a legit internet money .. not for ecommerce but for everything else aka current #nostr usecase
- then it becomes currency for small value items .. like commerce on #nostr
- then people start using it for day to day things beyond internet ..like I gave 1000 sats as a tip .. or 10 K for task rabbits .. at this point Apple and Google add it to their wallets ..
- then it becomes real currency .. with mechanisms ( that I can't fathom at this point ) for price stability .. it gets so pervasive that Govs just can't shut it down .. like I ternet itself
- then it becomes digital #gold ..
And finally thereafter .. it becomes the the self custody capital .. the promiseland ..
There may be changed in the order I described ..but the steps would be more or less same !

That is why I am saying #bitcoin is NOT a commodity on its own - it is just a digital form of gold ..like you can have gold in liquid form , solid or even a gas ( I guess :-) ..
The number 21 million is also interesting choice by Satoshi .. cuz by 2034 there will be 21 million bitcoin ( give or take ) and 210 million kilos of gold ..
So by 2034 - on bitcoin will be equal to ten kilos of gold .. which checks out all the price predictions ..

Censorship resistance is property of #gold that is digitally implemented in #bitcoin ..
Proof - no one can stop you from buying gold .. they may stop you from moving it across the borders but there is no way to exclude someone from gold network !
The limitation in gold is there is a minimum acquisition cost .. like you need to buy atleast ten grams or may be a gram ..which is a lot .. bitcoin makes the acquisition and transfer costs practically zero .. 100 sats for a penny ..
That is why bitcoin is the apex asset for poor .. rich can always invest in real estate , diamonds , arts and what not .. poor creatives can only get #sats -)

I was alluding more to the user experience..
As of now , on npub, when a user says they don't have a nostr profile , we are kinda rushing them through .. half screen .. feels like a quick side hustle ..
I would rather show them a full screen like start.njump... and go through the steps .. option to have the nsec sent to email .. bunker etc .. kinda a full experience..... at the end , they ofcourse need to get back to the publication .. my 2 !
