I think Bitcoin will be the world currency but may not be the universal currency. You need forks of bitcoin or some other commodity to go interplanetary or at the very least to go interstellar. It's kind of like how tobacco was a good currency in colonial Virginia, as it was tied to the local resources and proof of work in that area.

Great, really looking forward to also move completely to foldable as desktop replacement etc. I love how great typing works on foldables compared to normal sized phones.
I use it for larger lighting payments online and stuff in the real world. I was running Zeus for a little bit but it failed when I was trying to make a payment in a bar in Finland. I switched to something that is a little easier to manage. My wife, mother, and my sister all use it . If I'm doing micro payments I use Minibits. 53 sats to send 30k sats to me doesn't seem to bad to me.

Yeah. It's catchy slogans to drive home the message of distrust clearly. It's important that we have extremely high standards for trust and are aware of the possibilities. The idea that an IOU is completely worthless just because there's a 0.1% chance it will become irredeemable, is a little overkill, but it drives home the message as quickly and effectively as possible that you don't know, that there is that real chance. It's like an oversimplified guideline.
The way it all works in reality is we tailor our risk tolerance to ourselves, as well as craft a risk model, an understanding of how this all works, in our heads. We use the tech but allocate this percent or that percent to onchain, liquid, lightning, cashu, etc... we engage our friends with certain subsets of that and help them allocate for what makes sense for their use cases and risks. The simple message is just a good reminder for plebs who've been in a long time, and a good initiation for new plebs who are ready to become paranoid.

The reason it's so tempting to fall for these silly notions is that some little sacrifice is always needed for greater gains. It happens in economic planning all the time. You sacrifice one alternative use of something for another, perhaps give up money now to generate revenue to get more money in the future. Makes me wonder if these old legacy wallets written from scratch on custom scripts such as Blockstream or Unchained will get beaten out by new competitors using stuff like BDK and Rust Bitcoin. Those newer wallets can safely move so much faster and add so much more functionality while these old legacy wallets feel old af and super clunky. Wild with how many people Unchained employs and how long they’ve been around that they only in 2025 enabled Segwit.
Gave up. Was shocked by the fees versus lightning. Really not great for ultra small payments. Probably best for payments that are at least 10k or more, otherwise fees are too high and need to use lightning or Cashu.

Yeas, this is doable for sure. We can also require auth + disallow "dangerous" queries... The "wallets won't cooperate" is a harder problem though. I think that we can try to create our own nostr+connect urls pointing to Haven relay + the relays that wallets are listening on so that we at least get a copy of the pay_invoice command. But we need wallets to cooperate a bit for basically everything else. I guess that having a copy of Kind 23194 is better than nothing. But I would like to have a copy of the responses, notifications, etc as well.

Splitting your seed phrase like that is going to lead to disaster most likely.
I have an ongoing POC running locally. I haven't found a better way than whitelisting/blacklisting NWC-specific nostr+walletconnect:// URIs or random npubs encoded in them. Either that, or leaving the relay completely open, which is... not great.
The second issue, for basically everyone except wallet/NWC payment service developers, is that there's a lot of back-and-forth between the wallet and the relay. The wallet also needs to be configurable enough to forward events to your specific relay (many aren't). Most won't even allow external tools to query all NWC-specific events, so we can't even use the same subscribe/import trick we're using for kind:1 events. This is why I haven't committed my POC upstream yet. I haven’t found much use for end users, unless the user has full control over their NWC stack. And if they do, they can use your other relay.
Hopefully we can convince more custodial wallet devs to allow users to use their own payment relays in the future. This would make private payment relays much more useful to end users.

Alby go. While it is a lightning only wallet, it is very trivial to add multiple nwc wallets. I've got one connected to my albyhub instance. I can programmatically send funds to an on chain address using boltz api if needed (might be a feature request on the app @nprofile…qss4).

One of my coworkers is a cryptobro. I started the slow conversion process to maxi, don't know if it will take. He says he has bitcoin and does intend to accumulate more and not make the mistake of selling any again. So that's good.

Miracles are noncausal, so they can't be scientifically measured because of how noncausal works. It's kind of like a movie that's being written as-you-go, historical details get filled in to enable the miracle. We call it coincidence and ignore it, but it's really the power of the spirit of God within us that makes it happen.
The bible is not the word of God, that's quite a ridiculous claim. Anyone who has read it will note its written from the perspective of men. The claim is that it's inerrant and inspired. The inspired part isn't provable, the same way you can't measure a miracle.
God didn't "send his son" the way you describe it. It has to do with original sin, which is anger and judgement, being genetically woven into you through your father. They say your spirit comes from your father, but your mother will try to remake you in her image, which is of the spirit of Satan.
The new testament isn't fear driven at all. Again, you're interpreting it according to how you were told to read it, if you read it all. This is how the good news is poisoned. One recieves salvation through hearing, but one receives truth through holy Spirit, which is directly of the Father. Fear is hate. Hate is the opposite of love. The spirit of the Father is love, not emotional love, but pure emotionless and healing peace.

Muting words is supported by some clients, but not all. It's also a temporary band-aid. It works on this particular spam attack, but is not likely to work on the next one.
We'll have to determine what word will work for the next one when it happens.

Was having a conversation with a coworker about Bitcoin today, she said she was skeptical of Bitcoin because she thought it was “Fake money”
I didn’t want to go too into it at work but I discussed a few things about how dollars can just be printed and bitcoin can’t, and said they will just create a new currency once they are done with Bitcoin.
I explained a few points, she said she wished she had bought back in the day when her friend bought for $400/coin.
I did talk to another who said he did have some and that made me happy.
Poor sod was so sure that Bitcoin was going to go up that he borrowed enough fiat to buy 99.2 Bitcoin. However, lenders aren't about to risk losing their principal, so when the price went down far enough, he was forced to sell everything just to pay the lenders back, losing all of his own money that he'd put into the deal, as well.
Yup makes sense. I spotted that psyop earlier this year. Makes sense they've been doing it for decades too.

Hm these views **really** jive with mine. I have thought about a thousand ways by which we can see that they are true. Have I been an Aristotelian my whole life and not realized how well that description fits, having never read Aristotle or St. Thomas Aquinas?
