My feed is mostly users I follow so those profiles are already cached, but if you follow a lot of hashtags then you might be seeing a lot of notes from users you don't follow. Same with quoted or reposted notes > those notes might appear in your feed and the zap ⚡️ icon might not until the note is opened

Damus has not cached that user's profile which contains the Lightning address to be zapped.

So draftkings began blocking access to their platform via known vpn ip addresses. This was annoying because I had to switch from my vpn connection every time i wanted to check how im doing. And then id have to remember to turn it back on.
No more! I use Tailscale and set two of my computers as exit nodes, one of them is connected to my VPN provider, the other just goes straight to the Internet via my ISP. You don't need to pull the mask off to speak here. If you think that it will make your interactions more interesting and you're willing to give up that privacy, then do it. Or generate a new npub and leave this one anonymous. No one needs to know the same person is behind two different npubs.

I would not use a KYC wallet for purchases. And I would avoid using a custodial wallet, too. A benefit of lightning is privacy, but when a custodian is involved, then the destination of your payments is known to the custodian. Same can be true for some self-custody wallets, so be aware.

I'd like a client that pulls related hashtags (ie "this hashtag also appears in 50% of the notes as the hashtag you searched") and replies to notes with those hashtags so that we can more easily have conversations around a topic without having to use exactly the same hashtag. It is. But just noticed this. Seems @npub18d4…6lt3 is running electrs so that might be the better choice if mempool space is your primary concern vs a performant wallet or other software you want to connect to your electrum server. There may be other factors to consider too.

Alby hub has integrated ldk node with nice channel management features. It can also work with other ln implementations like lnd which is like adding a nwc interface.
I like the integrated ldk node, its very simple. But i want to remove the dependency of alby's relay

All of the attacks on privacy make streaming horrible. Its easier for me to stream Thursday Night Football illegally, than it is to use Prime. I'd have to disconnect from VPN, which involves switching WiFi networks and undoing a shortcut/automation. Or stream on methstreams.com by just clicking through their easy to navigate site. It used to work. It was supposed to work with just the nostr plugin but it doesnt now. Pretty sure something in the relay changed, because btcpay, nostr plugin and albyhub im running were hnchanged but nwc stopped working.

Most of the legacy apps that became popular started off with a very restricted way to share text or media:
- twitter: 140 characters
- instagram: 1 photo at a time
- vine: short video recorded in app
- snapchat: short video, shared for short period of time
I could be wrong on some of these and maybe it's not important but i think people like the challenge of creating something in a limited space to show whats possible.
Any nostr apps like this?
