I’ve found the following approach useful:
You’re looking at it from within the system. What if Bitcoin succeeds to the extent that it becomes the new system? Try to see things from this new perspective rather than from where society is now.
This is similar to the Max Keiser point: what if Bitcoin isn’t a bubble but it’s the pin?

In fiction, the point of view from how we see the story can often color how we perceive the ethics of characters. And of course, that lesson can apply in real life as well.
If you ask most people if Neo and Trinity in the Matrix are heroes or anti-heroes, for example, they’ll probably say heroes. There is nothing particularly dark or edgy about them other than kind of a general “cool” factor. They’re pretty chill and well-meaning people in their downtime, we care about their relationship, they help their friends, they have rather pure motivations, etc.
But in the Matrix, agents can teleport themselves into any unplugged person. Which means that when Neo or Trinity attack a place, they pretty much have to slaughter everyone. Leaving survivors means that agents can teleport in. Innocent guards and stuff just get wiped out by the dozens. The stakes of humanity being enslaved by the machines are so high, that the characters don’t even really debate the ethics of this; they just accept it.
Like literally the opening scene is Trinity killing police, and the audience is like “wow cool” instead of “so, is that the antagonist?” The famous lobby scene consists of Neo and Trinity wiping out tons of guards that are just doing their job of guarding a skyscraper. In the sequel, Trinity sends a motorcycle bomb into a power station, and then murders the remaining guards as they attack her. We all basically like Trinity, and yet there are platoons of widows and orphans out there from all the guards she killed. There aren’t really even any scenes of her reflecting on that, like finding it emotionally difficult in any way to do those things or feeling in any way haunted by it.
If the Matrix story was shown from like, a detective’s point of view, these characters are terrorists and would either seem like outright villains (if you don’t know their motivation) or anti-heroes if you do (ends justify the means; mass-murder is okay and not even worth feeling bad about if it saves billions).
So, how the movie *frames* things for us makes a big difference. We closely follow Neo and Trinity so much that we’re like, “of course they’re the heroes”. The same thing happens in real life with political commentators and things like that; a cultural narrative can frame something as wholly good or wholly bad when often it’s actually kind of complex.
Therefore, it’s a useful practice whether in analyzing fiction or real life, to always ask how you could invert the framing for something.
Billionaires like expensive things. They will get expensive #Bitcoin soon.
Might have to start incorporating this, yet usually the convo turns to them being so stuck in the fiat mindset, almost like I have to explain what money is altogether
Suggestion: tell people that Bitcoin isn’t without its issues/problems but it’s much better than fiat money.
This should help reduce the ‘too good to be true’ reaction.

Most people misunderstand the origins of contemporary "woke" ideology
It was not produced by academia, but by teenagers on Tumblr. The internet, and fragile, impressionable young people birthed something so viral it captured American politics
In the 2010s young people were both finally very online, and the platforms advanced enough to promote high speed interactions at scale. A far cry from Myspace and even Facebook that promote interactions with people you *know*.
The feed, and the ability to scroll were recently invented, and teenagers had no defense against it. This takes place right after the victory of Obama, and surging optimism to put the racial divide behind us
Tumblr surges to popularity specifically among young girls. It was a place for girls to participants in "Fandoms". A fandom is where fans of a particular type of media (Harry Potter, Twilight) gather to share their love of this content. It also became interested in social justice.
These interactions began to take over the lives of a segment of young women who were more active online than in real life
While they came to the website to fantasize about Edward and Jacob from Twilight, they became constantly bombarded with social justice messaging in the dawn of the endless scroll
Now where did these ideas come from? The concepts they were exploring came from early Marxist academics from the 60s and 70s who were part of the "long march through the institutions". I use Marxist literally, not rhetorically, they were literally Marxists
It's crucial to recognize that while Marxist philosophy influenced these ideas, the express form of wokeness we have dealt with is not academic or even marxist in origin.
It is fundamentally *teenage* in origin. It is a teenage philosophy, and even a female philosophy. I say this with care, not to provoke gendered resentment.
But one cannot understand wokeness without understanding teenage girls. This is not of the mind of a teenage boy.
To be a teenage girl is many things, and many more I cannot understand, but one thing is to be socially permeable. Teenage girls are not designed to sense social demands and pressures and *then reject them in place of their own well formed ideals*. They are fundamentally susceptible to social pressure in a profound way.
And so what you observe on Tumblr is a type of chain reaction. A Lord of the Flies Island where an ideological virus is allowed to incubate into its most viral form.
When this ideology finally spreads to American society, is when these Tumblr girls attend college. This is why people commonly associated wokeness with academia
But they have the direction of causality inverted. The teachers did not indoctrinate the students. The students infected and terrified the teachers. Now, some of those teachers were all too happy to go along with it, but still it was these young people who brought it to academia.
From this point the rate of spread rapidly increased, and it starts to influence the real world. Academics have influence and students graduate.
In 2013 this ideology was raging inside colleges, I was there!
By 2016 it was raging inside politics at a national stage.
The Democratic party became profoundly infected. And this has continued to this day, although it started weakening post COVID.
Cancellations became prominent in even corporations. Again, a cancellation is a fundamentally female method of social organization. Men do not cancel other men for saying an idea which is outside the norm.
They either argue, or fight.
Cancellation is yet another example of how, respectfully from my part, we are dealing with a feminine ethic from Tumblr. Girls cancel other girls. Look at any middle or high school. It isnt hard to see.
Why is it important to recognize the origins of wokeness?
Because the Left must fundamentally understand they have been led by teenagers. And they must turn to adults yet again if they seek a future in American politics

This sloppy thinking does not pass through the razors. It is complicated (Occam's razor) and much better explained by stupidity (Hanlon's razor) than malice.
People are confused by this, because they see emergent behavior. Yes, everything has sugar, because sugar sells. There's no conspiracy, the companies are selling people what they want. So don't want what is not good for you.
I know that it's much more fun to believe that there's an evil with a face and name causing all our troubles rather than saying people demand this and market supplies.
People can't agree on a date of a meeting with five people. But world wide conspiracy flourishes, it's kept mostly secret (except of you, right? You're one of the few that know about it, because someone tweeted about it).
Conspiracies are for people who want to complain and find whose fault something is. Much better approach for each individual - identify what's good for you and demand it. And don't get fooled by emergent behavior in complex systems. It might feel planned, but it just appears out of trillions of interactions. Yes, it's magic. Soros, Gates and Klaus don't have much more say in it than you do.

美国左派运动，因为特朗普当选下一任总统，盛大归来，宣告失败。
这些年由左派推动的美国🏳️🌈LGBT运动、取消文化运动、black lives matter运动，渐渐地通过借由民主党采取社会系统工程的方式，把一种左派的价值观，强加到亿万美国人民头上，掏空了美国人一直珍视的个人自由。
现在，特朗普拨乱反正，当选后会用行政方式将彩虹旗、黑命贵旗帜赶出美国教室、结束零元购，等等。
左派致力平等，确实没有错。但问题在于，它在摧毁自由。平等的目的是捍卫自由，但左派的平等却在剥夺自由，通过群体运动的方式。
美国需要改变，那就是把左派剥夺的自由，重新还给民众。民主不应该成为压迫的工具，民主应该是解放的手段。真正的自由是个人的自由，是消极自由。
反观民主党，它并没有堕落，而是它越来越忽略个人。不可否认，通过社会工程的方式，可以更快更好地把美国变成天堂，但这个天堂里，个人自由是被剥夺的，因为有太多的政治敏感词、太多的禁区，譬如同性恋、跨性别、堕胎自由、黑命贵。唉，民主党把美国真的变成了一个敏感的荡妇。
特朗普来了，但特朗普并不是要取缔这些运动，而是让它们不是对他人自由的威胁，仅仅是多元自由的一元。零元购、黑命贵、彩虹旗，OK，都OK，但不能你OK，别人就必须屈服你的OK，不能坚持反对立场。

Riding on the back of the success I had here in Norway with Fraudcoin - 1000 Years of Inflation as a Policy, I nine months ago openly challenged my country's professors of economics and finance to debate me on monetary policy.

Complete radio silence ensued, until the host of one of our biggest trad-fi podcasts contacted me in July.
He said he had found a professor who were willing to do it, and offered to be our moderator.
I accepted, and said I would get back to him when I knew when my next trip to the capital came up.
Two months later I wrote back and said I would go to Oslo in October, but then he said he was leaving his position to go to another company, and that the guy taking over as host for the podcast wasn't interested in the subject.
In preparation of the marketing of our next book, Arrow of Truth, which is about Bitcoin, I sent an e-mail directly to the professor who previously had said he would debate me.
I asked if he still was up for it, and that we perhaps could do it in front of his students at his own home turf in Oslo.
He said yes, but that he didn't have time until next spring, meaning, about half a year from now...
You can say many things about the fiat economy, but its record when it comes to producing brave academics who support their ideas about the traditional monetary system isn't very impressive, at least here in Norway.
If Bitcoin goes to zero I would buy all the bitcoins for 0$.

I don’t think it’s a settled question whether regulation and “legalization” is a Trojan Horse for censorship, or bitcoin is a Trojan Horse for the entire legacy financial system.
With greater adoption this was always coming, in fact it was best case scenario because the alternatives were either it were killed before it got this big, or it never got this big because it didn’t catch on.
We’ll see what happens. The legacy system is fucking around, and all of us will find out, one way or the other.

Pretty much all of my posts since at least a couple of days. But here is one in particular @note1mguazjy8ysfapal4aut3hue4mnu4he7pdmccrhrj0p4vaty6pccsxwelma . Basically I had made a promtp to chatGPT which included a large list of popular hashtags and asked him to create a post while only adding a couple of relevant ones. After that I manually selected the post text (including only a couple of hashtags) and copypasted it , but the event was published including a way larger number of tags inside the JSON. In addition to that it seems that those tags also got added to the meme posts I made, where I simply copypasted links to media hosting without adding anything else whatsoever in the note. I have come to the conclusion that I cannot run my own NoStrudel instance while simultaneously live streaming 24/7 at 1080p 60fps.
Was able to boiled it down to two main causes. Either my little Mac mini m1 just can’t handle the throughput, or the network congestion is too much even on a 1 Gbit fiber connection.
I love running my own Nostr client instance. Having a private tunnel to you own infrastructure is the coolest! But man, the second you try to do anything else things really grind to a halt.

Some people cannot see farther than what they are and will recognize in others only that which they do. Narcissists seek for their own reflection and try to overlap reality with that which they have built in their mind. Having a personal view and voice, sometimes even existing as opposed to being used, becomes a struggle for survival The narrative of what a person, a country, a brand, a technology is in the scheme of things and in competition with others is just poison to the mind, heart and soul. The stories we tell are supposed to plant and nourish seeds that will feed future generations with beauty, love and meaning. For we are not born humans but this is something you become. The people I've been looking at build robots, feed machines, teach algorithms. For me, this is just dark and hopeless and that's mostly what I've been feeling for the past 2 years looking at the evolution of this story. No room for God in the life of people and that is scary as hell.
I did some math: with the bitcoins I've accumulated in my wallet, I could live comfortably and without worries for the rest of my life... but I have to die on Thursday.

Do you even think that libertarianism has a chance to take some room in the collective cultural mind of the German people? I speak strictly from a cultural and historical point of view - German people strike me as having the deepest belief in a strong state that takes care of everything for them. I think it's much more likely that in the face of a clear government mismanagement, they willingly buy the "we just have to vote better people in" lie.
