Bård Wormdal is the authorative reseacher on the collaboration between US and Norwegian intelligence agencies.
This year he received the Norwegian Press Association's Transparency Award.
Wormdal has worked as a journalist for 35 years with NRK (the Norwegian state's broadcaster).
He has largely been ignored by Norwegian media, and received the award for his three books:

Based on his research, there seems to be almost no Norwegian political oversight as to what our intelligence services are doing, and most of our intelligence service's budget has been, possible still is, financed by US intelligence services.
The jury who gave him the reward said:
"Through his books, he has challenged official accounts. He has created space for a broader discussion about Norway's role in international intelligence and our cooperation with the USA."
The jury also believes that Wormdal's work has contributed to the public receiving information and the opportunity to assess and discuss security policy issues on a more informed basis.
IMO - the close cooperation on intelligence service is part of the puzzle that helps explain why Norwegian schools and media gaslight my people on historical and political matters, creating a society where independent and critical thinking isn't highly regarded, leaving us with a very narrow Overton window (what is accepted to discuss, which arguments that can be used.)

Complete radio silence ensued, until the host of one of our biggest trad-fi podcasts contacted me in July.
He said he had found a professor who were willing to do it, and offered to be our moderator.
I accepted, and said I would get back to him when I knew when my next trip to the capital came up.
Two months later I wrote back and said I would go to Oslo in October, but then he said he was leaving his position to go to another company, and that the guy taking over as host for the podcast wasn't interested in the subject.
In preparation of the marketing of our next book, Arrow of Truth, which is about Bitcoin, I sent an e-mail directly to the professor who previously had said he would debate me.
I asked if he still was up for it, and that we perhaps could do it in front of his students at his own home turf in Oslo.
He said yes, but that he didn't have time until next spring, meaning, about half a year from now...

The Norwegian Oil fund is the largest sovereign investment fund in the world.
The fund is supposed to finance the Norwegians' future pensions.
At 1.7 trillion USD, it's the 8th most valuable asset in the world, with a market cap equivalent to about 10% of all of the gold that has been mined throughout history.
Gold tops the list of the most valuable asset (market cap).
When we include the fund, bitcoin is No. 11 on this list, only 14 years after the digital currency started to have economic value.
The fund is only allowed to invest in real estate, bonds and stocks outside of Norway.
It isn't allowed to invest in gold or Bitcoin.
The fund owns 0.6 % of Microstrategy, meaning that it indirectly owns a tiny bit of bitcoin.
Compared to the gold price, it has had an annual average loss of about 1.9% over the 26 years since its inception.

Scandal
The Norwegian Government Pension Fund Global is the largest sovereign wealth fund in the world.
It has more than 500 employees and invests in real estate and securities outside Norway.

I'm struggling with understanding Michael Saylor's base case of 14 million USD per bitcoin in 2045.
He says that Bitcoin's market cap represents 0.1% of total global wealth today (relative market cap), while his base case scenario assumes that this goes to 7%, which is a 70-fold increase.
If we look at the historical annual average increase of the money supply USD, we know that it's about 7%.
If the money supply continues to increase at this rate, it means that in 21 years the amount of money has more than quadruppeled (≈ 4.3).
Today the price of one bitcoin is 63,000 USD.
4.3 x 63,000 USD ≈ 270.000, which represents the M2 adjusted (monetary inflation adjusted) price over a 21 year period.
Saylor's base case of 14 mill USD represents 52 x today's price, adjusted for the increase of the monetary supply.
I don't understand how a base case of 70-fold increase of Bitcoin's relative market cap translates into just a 52-fold increase in the real, M2-adjusted price.
Wouldn't it be logical that the real, M2-adjusted bitcoin price increased more than Bitcoin's relative market cap?
After all, we're talking about an asset with absolute scarcity, while global wealth, on the other hand, normally would grow.

The most important thing the government represents for the people is that it it plays the role of a half god who tells them he can make something good out of nothing.
The longer people believe in this idea, and the more money they fork over to the government in the form of taxes, the more difficult it is for them to admit that the idea is false.
For many, the feelings they have for the government is probably different from the emotional attachment to an imaginative nanny who protects them and cares for their welfare.
Instead, I think it's more akin to the emotional attachment they have to their own offspring.

If I was an all-powerful psychopath, I would keep most of the world's people, group A, as illiterate and poor as possible, and extract their natural resources using their cheap labor.
To the extent other people, group B, would benefit from this or from technologies they created, I would gradually tax them to death and steal their savings with inflation, while I in parallel would use their schools to dumb them down as much as possible.

Man acts purposefully, to improve his situation. He doesn't need to be rewarded with a privilege. He fucks around and finds out, and copies other good ideas and behevior automatically. He does it alone and together with others. One man's creativity inspires others. When it happens it feels like magic. Very little gives a dopamin rush like understanding something new. And when to people's ideas melt and turn into a third idea, the magic and dopamin is almost overwhelming. This is why dopamin often is referred to as "the learning hormone."

Logics dictate that this artificially created privilege is a net negative for humankind.
In economics terms, IP blocks many of the positive externalities that comes out of ideas.
To say it in plain language, good ideas are more valuable for society the faster they spread and the cheaper they are to put into use, but IP slows down the speed of dissemination of ideas and forces people to pay before they can use them.
As an author, I think it's extremely sad that the mechanics of society mean that I depend on copyrights.
I clearly see how it corrupts peoples' minds and hearts, just like all other political priveleges do.
Below you get a glimpse of how detrimental IP is to people living in developing countries, and how it corrupts countries once they have been industrialized.
Up until the 20th century, the U.S. government had lax enforcement of IP, particularly concerning foreign creators.
The legal framework allowed for the widespread piracy of foreign works, as the 1790 Copyright Act explicitly excluded protections for non-US authors.

The Age of the Enlightenment was The Wold War of Ideas I.
Those who had the best ideas won the war, as they in the 18th and 19th century inspired millions of people to liberate themselves from empires.
Unfortunately they soon lost the peace.
The main reason was that the political elite managed to coordinate their monetary monopolies, by directing this deadly weapon against their own peoples.
Today we are in the beginning of The Wold War of Ideas II.
The odds are IMO favourable for the people with the best ideas.
And Bitcoin makes it difficult for the political class to use the money printers to win the peace.

I'll give you a few examples of the cost of winning and losing a war of ideas in this thread.

On the 9th of September in 9 AD, he led a coalition of Germanic tribes in the Battle of the Teutoburg ForestTeutoburg Forest against three Roman legions.
It was David's fight against Goliath, and in just three or four days, Arminius and his men dealt the Romans such a blow that the empire was forced to give up its ambitions to rule the Germanic people.
Arminius was born around 18 BC into the Cherusci tribe.

As the Romans tried to push through, they were funneled into even narrower paths where they were easier targets.
The Germans also blocked paths with felled trees.
The continuous attacks, combined with the depressing weather conditions, led to exhaustion and demoralization among the Romans.
Constant harassment and the inability of the Romans to form effective battle lines, wore down the Roman's morale.
On what is believed to be the third or fourth day, on the September 11 or 12, the Romans attempted to fortify a position, but they were overwhelmed.
Varus, seeing the inevitable defeat, took his own life.
Around 15,000 to 20,000 Roman legionaries were killed.
Additionally, there were significant losses among auxiliaries and camp followers, possibly bringing the total Roman and allied casualties to around 25,000 to 30,000.
It's generally believed that the Germanic losses only were in the range of a few thousand.
The legions' eagles, symbols of Roman military honor, were captured.

And in the beginning, there are always just a few people, over time they gradually need more support.
Therefore, time and smart use of time is what's most important.
There have been many revolutions, some peaceful, some violent.
They say the success rate of peaceful revolutions is highest.
The narrative builders exaggerate the violence involved in some of the revolutions.
Why?
Because the winners of the revolutions themselves become rulers and begin to form a new narrative that aims at scaring others from attempting to overthrow them.
I often ask, how many people think were killed in battles in the American revolution.
People have no idea.
The answer is an average of 3-4 men per day over six years.
In the 80 years war which gave the Dutch freedom from the Habsburg empire, it was on average about one per day.
Compare that with for instance The Battle of Stamford Bridge, which was a result of one man's insanity - Harald Hardråde, who ventured on the quest of putting England under his thumb in 1066.
He took power in Norway in 1047, but in reality was powerless until 1050.
He became the inflation king of the North, and invested his inflation profits in conquest.
In just one single day, about 5000 men died at Stamford Bridge, including himself.
Looking into the American and Dutcj revolutions again, you realize that the major component of these upheavals must have been a peaceful one.

Most people believe it's lack of information and understanding of the situation that is why things get worse in society.
I think this isn't correct.
First, history demonstrates that you don't need many people to change society for the better.
Second, most of those who are able to change society already know why it's necessary, they are on the other hand sick and tired of the constant whining.
And third, it's all about believing in the best actionable ideas, and making sure that these ideas are put into action by enough people.
I'll write a note today or next week where I present some of my thoughts.
The note first targets the freerider problem, why it corresponds directly with corruption and how deep this corruption runs in modern day's civilization.
These are issues that are extremely unpopular with people, because they see that these ideas force them to confront themselves with their own weaknesses.
Therefore, whenever I mention for instance freeriding in my posts, readers ignore them, don't hit the like or share buttons, and do what they can to avoid being seen as someone who contribute to distributing bad news.
So, how to deal with this challenge?
The answer is to becoming adept at communicating a superior idea.
An idea that strengthens people and motivates them to take positive action.
This has to be an idea which convinces them to connect with likeminded individuals who are prepared to cooperate and disseminate tried and tested methods that promote positive social change.
I call the idea "Sound Rebellion," which also will be the headline of most of my talks in the near future.

Ideas about money is one example.
People don't learn about it in schools or at home etc,, but they depend on it and are therefore very interested in it.
If everyone else talks about the environment, corruption and high taxes, that represents a massive form of noise.
And if I then come out and say:
"The monetary system is the most beautiful social network ever"
or
"Inflation is and has always been a conscious policy by rulers"
people almost automatically tune into it, because it sticks out so much against the noise.
Same with Bitcoin, which represents many ideas, and which actually comes true much stromger as a signal the more economic noise that is produced in the form of for bad economic policies.
And it's the same with a bitcoiner, who may very well always transmit the same based/low time preference signal, but it becomes easier to receive the signal, the more society is burdened with fiat, bad economic policies and the impact these things have on non-bitcoiners.

And winning requires that we constantly learn new, actionable ideas.
However, this isn't just an imperative.
Once we throw ourselves into the battle, we develop a passion for it.

Meeting new people and sharing and developing new ideas together with them is wonderful.
You discover that when positive, creative people get together, 1 + 1 is never 2.
When we meet, physically or digitally or we just read each others' writings, we often identify ideas that the other person didn't have before, enabling us to create new knowledge and more understanding together.
And sometimes, when you and I combine our ideas, we develop things that the world hasn't seen or heard before.
It might not be a gigantic innovation, and normally it's just a very, very small thing.
But it's our joint appreciation of the process itself that is so immensely rewarding.
Because we realize that 1 + 1 in the social and intellectual domain more often than not is 3, 10, 1000 a million or more.
Magical is the only way to describe this process, which is reserved to us alone, the humankind.

The idea that human beings by nature are wicked is the mother of all evil.
The first offspring you get from this concept is the idea that we need a state, because we are rabid beasts bound to kill each other if nobody gets a monopoly on the use of violence.
The next offspring is deception in the form of a monopoly on money production, in past times argued to be "necessary to promote trade," nowadays argued to be necessary because "we need some inflation to grease the wheels of the economy."
Once the monopoly in money production has been put into place, the state can create money out of nothing and thus be in a position where it always can win the competition for all sorts of scarce resources, including bread, brains and bullets.
People who disagree with me on this should read Hobbe's Leviathan and the writings of most of today's academics within the social sciences - then ask themselves who these court scribblers have inspired.

3. this someone must have a monopoly on production of money
are allowed to dictate the evolution of the social order, everything that happens to be positive for the citizenry is in view of the de facto rulers either just a necessity for staying in or increasing power or an unintended and unfortunate consequence.

Excluding a few other taxes that we must pay, the answer was 67%.
I figure, if you include all of the special taxes and the 19 months of military conscription (which effectively is almost 100% tax), the result should be closer to 80%.
