If they ever signal they are buying and printing, then Americans/ROW lose confidence in the dollar and front run them. Frankly, probably worse outcomes from the insanity that would cause overall. It’s a prediction market. People “bet” on the outcome by buying what they think will happen, maybe selling when they think it’s priced too high, maybe buying more of it’s priced too low. The final result will be either $1.00 on Trump or $1.00 on Kamala. So right now the market thinks there’s a ~59% chance of Trump winning. It’s a useful indicator because a large volume of people are putting their money where their mouth is, but ultimately just one datapoint among many.

The whole game is rigged by criminal market makers who go from coin to coin fleecing the communities…
I have a friend who tried to make an “organic” meme coin. As in he literally told the community he was going to rug them in 69 years and that this thing was not serious. Showed them all the time-locked contract code, etc. The meme content was actually funny, and he’s a gifted marketer/community builder. His entry to the space was timed pretty perfectly too with one of the meme coin bonanzas. It took off a little, but eventually sputtered out and now he’s not sure what to do with the community he’s gathered. He was approached by these market maker groups and figured out the real game by talking to them. Obviously didn’t want to go to jail so never worked with them- but realized that’s how all this garbage gets big. The founders aren’t even the ones doing well off of it (relatively, in most cases), the real people making profits are the offshore criminal market makers grabbing 80% of the supply and running the algo-trading powered pump and dumps.

Microstrategy is debt-levered custodial Bitcoin with the overhead drag of a public company. In any insolvency event, there’s limited recourse for the shareholders who are LAST to collect from the company carcass. It’s a centralized point of attack for actors who would want to damage the real Bitcoin network. Antithetical to the real mission and a huge risk to the space.

I personally think the fun part about Nostr as a network is that it doesn't have a centralized "steady state" source of truth. Depending on what parts of the network you're hooked up to and how you interact with them, there's an amorphous version of your npub out there that looks different depending on what lenses (relays? clients?) it's being observed through.
We need more open source tools like this available widely and implemented in clients to provide an effective "steady state" of things for users, but ultimately it's up to all of us as users to implement them for ourselves and control our own truth.
