That bit of sea between Ireland and England/Scotland/Wales holds Beaufords Dyke where thousands of tons of munitions, ordnance, chemicals and such was dumped after the wars, and subsequently. As years have gone by a lot of that has drifted on tides and currents and occasionally washes up in fishing nets or on beaches. (1/2)

When the SNIP [Scotland-NorthernIreland] gas connector was laid they had to work around it and ran into some interesting challenges on the way.
Maybe that is why there isn’t and shouldn’t be too much windfarm or other structures built there, apart from the shipping channels challenges. Then there’s the stuff that came from Windscale-Sellafield and there have been issues with the raised levels of radioactive substances there also. There was even a failed legal action over it. (2/2)

On the contrary, IMO, The rioters showed exactly what it means to be English - not Welsh, Irish or Scottish. As for the Taiwanese boxer, something similar happened. She learned to box because of the violence her father inflicted on her mother. She did so to try and protect her mother. There is nothing that suggests she was ever anything other than female her entire life. Algeria is not a trans friendly country at all. If there was even a hint that she was trans, or taking masculine hormones she probably would not be alive. From the record or her birth onwards she has always been identified as female; and I do not think they planned that far in advance for her to become an Olympic boxer. She says she learned to box to defend herself against assaults, and her father opposed her learning it; but yesterday he was proud she’s doing well.

I see some reasonably sane people are now calling for Braverman to be expelled from the Party. Rightly so, imo. Tories have a choice - move to a more centrist position or move the the Reform party position and try to out-hate them. I hope it would be the end of the Tories if they moved farther right. I really cannot see why gender would have anything to do with this role; except for the old boys networks, golf days and such. Those long established mens clubs and events keep women from a lot of the decision making and business moves. Reeves gender only affects her insofar as women are traditionally excluded from a lot of after hours events - think Masonic and other such clubs also. Not her mindset - the patriarchy is the hindrance.

He’s already engaged two different legal companies, and one of them is really expensive. I’m glad the BBC exposed him, having cushioned him for many years through UKIP & Brexit. Also, people often don’t realise, but for the month of July birds don’t sing. Add that on top of pollution, lack of wild food [insects, plants berries], often no topped up bird feeders as people are on holiday, stresses like alien populations of parakeets, bird flu, pesticide, insecticide etc…. And cats being out and about catching babies that aren’t wise enough yet.
