As for the Taiwanese boxer, something similar happened. She learned to box because of the violence her father inflicted on her mother. She did so to try and protect her mother. There is nothing that suggests she was ever anything other than female her entire life. Those dodgy tests, the veracity and type of which has never been revealed, were done by the discredited boxing authority. It is shameful and transphobic that the BBC use this headline.
