Managed to catch a day of the LA Whip Convention this past weekend with a friend and had a lot of fun throwing leather. Took a workshop on whip tossing that I didn't initially plan to, and one on Australian whip cracking from Adam Winrich (holder of an insane number of world records). Still need to go through the DVDs Adam gave out. Other time up there that day was having fun working on technique and practicing.

I hit up 3 different local Asian supermarkets last night and the closest one had was the paste. Luckily I got the juice ordered online and it'll arrive in time. I'll try seeing how the paste compares later after using the juice as a baseline.

Agreed! A big part is definitely the ingredients. The start of that cookbook gives a lot of good tips about what to get and how to select them. Got some other tips from the chef at the market before we went to the open air kitchen surrounded by rice fields in his hometown.

For what it's worth, the version I had contained:
Rice noodles, bean sprouts, peanuts, tamarind, fish sauce, small shrimp, green onion, shallot or red pearl onion, sugar, and fried egg on top
Added bonus is the bean sprouts are grown at the restaurant.
One of my fellow tour mates tried Pad Thai the next day at a restaurant in the Icon Siam mall that had a Michelin star in 2022 and said the one in the OP was better.

Gotta say, Asiana airways has the best airplane food I've experienced so far. My wife and mom in law were if anything overfull by the end of the 17hrs of flying. I also didn't photograph a breakfast sandwich that was included.

Catching up on the Net Neutrality discussion on the show and wanted to add a bit of info for you:
ISPs do track their users to monetize the data. I've had to actively opt-out of Verizon trying to opt me into tracking multiple times, and there are other examples of ISPs trying to squeeze extra money out of their customers by selling data or offering targeting of ISP customers for ads.

Considering how stupid the stun lock can be in the campaign, I'm not surprised to hear that. Outside of maybe playing vs with friends who are interested, I'm not planning to use PvP, but that's me. Would be cool if there was a multiplayer campaign, but maybe we'll get something like that in the next one.

It's hard to tell how much of that video has a real lead/follow dynamic with all the cuts and angles where you can't see the frame of the couple, but you can definitely lead a lot of footwork like that in a social setting.

It feels odd to say I've had my Ergodox EZ Glow for over 3 years at this point, and I love that board to death. Like you, it took me a while to get used to the ortholinear layout, but I think the software integration from ZSA really made the difference for me. While settling on my layout, I used their live training tool that gives live feedback for which keys you're pressing and which layer you're in, so I can touch type better and faster than on a staggered layout.

With how you mentioned Mimi enjoys VR games for exercise recently, I'd like to make a VR game recommendation:
Beat Saber
It's a VR game where you cut blocks with lightsabers to the beat of the music. It's a ton of fun and quite the workout when you get the hang of it and try higher difficulties. With mods, there's a plethora of songs/mappings you can add to the game for free for infinite replay value.

Cool idea, but I personally cannot go back to a board design where the ergonomics are so bad. Staggered rows of keys are harder to type on than something ortholinear, and having a truly split board makes a world of difference. If you're using a keyboard correctly, you shouldn't be needing to look at it, anyway. Would be interesting to see that tech applied to the Ergodox layout.
