To you people, having a bed that can maintain two different temperature zones—even on a regular mattress!—may seem like a genius idea.
But there are two obvious design blunders.
First, there isn’t a third zone for your cat. Unless your zone just so happens to also be the ideal for your cat, you could be ruining your cat’s bed. Your cat has given you leave to keep their bed warm at night. Don’t abuse that privilege.
Second, there is no way the ChiliPad can survive a feline user.
One Amazon reviewer raises an excellent question:

This is an excellent question because liquid flows through the mat and is fed by tubes. Those tubes are attached to the cube that controls the temperature of the liquid flowing through the chilipad.
One astute answerer hits the nail on the head: “nothing can stop a determined cat from destroying it.”
If you mess around with my sleeping area by adding a mysterious mechanical cube with tubes that connect somewhere under where I sleep, you had better believe I’m going to investigate that to the fullest. And by investigate, I mean fully dismantle with my claws and teeth.
Besides, if there’s water flowing through it, I would have to test to see if it’s the best tasting water in the house. Some cats prefer bathtubs, sinks, showers, or even toilets, but it’s entirely possible the chilipad contains the fountain of youth for cats.
All that to say, don’t buy the ChiliPad because your cat will destroy it.

It's pretty damn unstable, but I manage to create a 3 devices mesh with @nprofile…xu96 and successfully have events being created and automatically synchronized to all devices in the mesh.
It just works 🥳

Watching a doomer economics show this morning, amazing stat for the UK, the median wages is only 40% higher than the new national minimum wage. Also, hospitality costs have sky rocketed and they’re losing jobs quickly, fortunately new government jobs and making up the difference.
They (labour but also the previous Tory government) are pushing us towards a single rate of pay. No matter how hard you work, you’ll likely earn the same or a token amount above the minimum, but then get the differences taxed, this is Communism.

I am attempting to add "protected" profiles to flotilla, so that people can create an account, but only share their name with the groups they're a member of.
I implemented this today by adding a`-` tag to profiles and sending them to group relays (as well as fetching profiles from group relays and keeping track of which relay a given profile event came from). This allows for different profiles on different relays, but it breaks the "profile" page because without the context of which relay you're on, you don't know which profile to show if they diverge.
I suppose you could show your "global" profile, with some "aliases" below it. But then you're in the business of managing multiple profiles, which seems really annoying. Maybe an "alias" event kind would be an improvement? You could specify just a subset of profile data, and merge it into your global profile in particular contexts. This could be good for privacy, but also would just be a fun feature to have in groups.
I'm curious if anyone else has worked on this problem and come up with a good solution.
