Hash formats are the same (SHA256) but with one (big) caveat: NIP-96 allows for the server to transform the content (unless explicitly disabled) and in this case the hash in the url does not match the content returned from the API any more.
NIP-96 also allows different (custom) url endpoints afair - so building the URLs is more flexible but less straightforward than with blossom.

Yes. They main difference is that with blossom the URL has always the hash of the content. With nip96 the content can be transformed, i.e. may be different from the hash in the url. This as a problem when you want to mirror/reupload stuff.

You have to use theirs to send on iOS. But you can add a different lighting address in the profile so you receive zaps on a different wallet.

Many ndk apps e.g. slidestr.net are static web pages. But I think you mean having a single html page, including ndk from a cdn (script tag) and write some JavaScript to use it!? That could be done but most developers like to have a proper setup, that compiles and optimizes the page.
For simple usecases nostr-tools might also be easier to use.
