There's this little voice in the back of many white liberals' heads telling them if they don't have a majority of white people supporting them then they're doomed to failure or even that they're wrong somehow, that white conservatives must have a point and may even be right.

To be sure, the vast majority of Black voters still support Democrats, but one reason we've seen Trump edge up on Biden in the polls is because Biden has been slipping at the margins -- and not only with Black voters but with Muslim and young voters, too.

Protests do happen on a regular basis. They just don't make the news.
Something like 4 million people were in the Women's March in 2017. It was peaceful and had basically zero impact.
It wasn't perceived as a threat.
Around 20 million people participated in the George Floyd and BLM protests in 2020 and the results were considerably different, weren't they?

As much as I still have white privilege, I was never fooled into thinking I had common cause with other white people, especially the ones with money. It wasn't the "greed is good" era for nothing, you know.

There's a reason Very Serious Person diplomacy in the Middle East is geared around the "normalization" of relations, i.e., twisting arms to try and get Israel's neighbors to throw Palestinians under the bus in exchange for regional stability, which itself is mostly about oil prices and access to other resources.

Israel is governed by a far right regime which includes known terrorists and actively pursues ethnic cleansing as part of a land grab that has been ongoing since its inception.

Yes? Good? And?
Like, look. I live in Texas and my vote basically doesn't count for anything, ever so I sympathize with people in rural areas who aren't white supremacist douchebags.
But like 90% of them are and they keep voting for Republicans, who ignore their problems.
And these are the people who complain loudest about popular vote systems because they want their vote to count for more than everybody else's.

I need liberals to understand that insisting upon the limits of what's politically possible under this system just reinforces people's belief that system is broken, especially when one of the big limits is "what Democrats can be bothered to try."
Nobody is a fan of this system the way you are.
