Hey @npub18pu…a699 do you have experience with Bolt12 offers? We recently installed CoreLightning to tryout Bolt12 but when I generate an offer and try to pay from @npub1ex7…vyt9 , I get an error that a route couldn’t be found. But if I generate a lightning invoice request form the CoreLightning node, I can pay that and invoice. I’m confused how one could work and the other will not.

You'll find it. Running a node will help. Certainly doesn't have to be a podcast, you could do the same with code contributions, music, documentaries, how-to videos, comic books, recipes...literally any digital content imaginable can adopt this model and succeed at very small scales/niches. I have been getting sats to my node for 3d printing a lot lately, something I hadn't planned for a year ago.

He writes "Nothing and no one can stop us" but is that totally true? Couldn't the U.S. government take their domain or DNS or whatever (whether legally or not)? Since Gab is centralized, I would think it's ruggable, and able to rug it's users, unlike Nostr, The Unruggable Social Network.
Also, while Torba might like Nostr's design and capabilities (if he's aware of Nostr), he probably likes having his own platform that he's in control of, even though Christ is King, with it's reported 52 million unique visitors per month.
I think Gab and Twitter and Truth Social and all of the others should set up relays that allow their users' content to show up on the Nostr, and gives them an out when they are asked to take down content by governments. They could take it off their own servers, but can't take it off the Nostr's many relays. Once governments see that takedown requests would be pointless, perhaps they would stop asking.

Also not sure if it is pushed to anyone or just displayed in the paid section of the YH feed. Good idea, but implementation is still lacking the value for the users who might choose to pay 🫡🫂
Ah, that could be true. I am not sure if Bolt12 supports routing hints. It may get be, but you’ll need to check if there is a setting for it
I've seen people mention before that they'd like notifications for when certain npubs post to Nostr. Nostur on iOS does this already. For us Android folks, I'm assuming that this could be done with Pokey. Maybe @nprofile…vh28 could implement a subscription section, where you can add npubs to subscribe to, and you'd get notifications for when they create a new note. The technical hurdle here would be then subscribing to that npub's relays and watching them for new notes and having to do so for every npub that you're subscribing to, right? That doesn't sound efficient or battery friendly. Maybe another, better method exists?

At this stage it may be more appealing when it looks like it’s made by a smaller number of people, what it actually is, with the wish to be supported to fight for decentralization. It’s a call to create & to build together, an invitation for a new way to communicate with the wide world. More familiar, for those who are willing to participate to make the thing roll 🙌🏼

How can you possibly do well on Bitcoin? Those that bought 1BTC at $90k today now have $90k less than they had yesterday. That's not "doing well".
Does anyone know if it's even possible to build an executable for Windows using e.g. Rust (though this might apply to other langs), without buying a signing certificate, and have it runnable by users without false positive virus/trojan warnings (which, actually, make it effectively impossible for users to run).
I did a lot of searching and found a huge number of developers reporting this problem, but actually no solutions. Is it just impossible to distribute binaries as an independent developer? Is it just isolated to Rust and maybe Go etc? Or ...? Anyone experienced this and found a way round it?

Folks like Nouriel Roubini and Keynesian economists as a whole cannot sustain the risk of accepting defeat by Bitcoin, as their entire reputation depends on an economic framework that is incompatible with Bitcoin.
