I don't think streaming sats need to be per minute but do need to be automatic and periodic.
The best use case for streaming sats is music podcast or live shows. If I'm listening to Homegrown Hits, I want to send small automatic payments so that every value split gets sats from me. I can't be expected to Boost every track that is played.
Sending a single Boost to a show doesn't work when the show is switching value blocks every few minutes.

Eric you mentioned your Boosts not being read on PC 2.0. I’ve noticed some of my Boosts get picked up by the IRC bots and some don’t. I haven’t looked into this too much because AlbyHub on my Start9 still randomly disconnects so that’s a bigger issue.
I think it’s just because this is all new. Feels like the good old days where I wasn’t sure if my Boost were being sent or not.

Node might just be turned off. If that Beelink loses power, you have to turn it back on manually. Had that happen to mine before.

I'm really start to like the terminology the AlbyHub uses for Liquidity.
Saving - on-chain funds used to open channels aka buy liquidity.
Spending - is just what's on your side of your channels that you can send out.
Receiving - is just what's on the other side of your channels that people can send to you.
For comparison the other pic is what your channels on a node look like. Same thing but in a much easier way to understand.

It seems like it’s a lightweight node that always has to be online to me. If the PC turns off so does this.
There are also options to subscribe to the Alby subscription plan, run it on a server, run it on your own PC or even run it on a Raspi Zero.

The 74,250 balance is what’s left over from opening the channel. I paid a 80k invoice and after fees that’s what I have left.
I needed the sats upfront to open it but it only really cost me 5,750 sats and the 74,250 sat balance is mine to send out.

First thoughts - this is powerful. It basically the same as running a node but more user friendly. You can even use a credit card to pay for opening channels.
Use your own PC as a lightweight lightning node.
I opened a channel to a LSP for 80k sats which was the cheapest option.

It’s a good one I listened to it when it came out and again recently when it came up on PC 2.0.
They also cover a lot of the tradeoffs with it so the episode isn’t just all hype like most BYC podcast these days.

I haven't looked into it much b/c it doesn't really fix a problem I have. Its just sats in another wallet that I cant use to send to podcasters or musicians.
I do think having a small pool of sats that people can use to test this stuff out could be useful.
Right now we are looking for a "free" option that can be used across apps. Something to move small amounts in and out of.

Is this the s9pk for what Bumi shared because its the same as the version of NWC that's already on my node?

From the apps I’ve tested Boost and Boostagram from my node on LNBeats seem to fail most of the time.
My other Alby account works just fine on LNBeats but the one with my node has issues.
This stuffs kind of hard to test so it might be nothing but it just seems to be having issues.

I've been using it with windows for a few days and I hate it so I'm setting up a dual boot with Linux Mint so I still have the windows install.

If you wanted to you could signup for a new Alby account to connect to your node but that requires managing 2 accounts.
I’m having issues with this working on LNBEats so I’ve been using a backup account for when the node isn’t working for whatever reason.

I don't know why but Alby + my node doesn't work on LNBeats.com.
This combo works on all the other 2.0 apps but not LNBeats. I switched to my other Alby account and it worked just fine.

This is the Zeus LSP I've been playing with, and it looks like it's open to the public now since I didn't need a token to create the invoice.
Not free but you can now build a node on a cheap PC and connect Olympus to it, and you should be set.

I've been using my own node with Alby for the past week or so.
If you go to getalby.com/node you can add a NWC pairing key from the NWC app your own node. Nothing changes on the app side besides you see your node balance now instead of the Alby one.
I'm not on AlbyHub yet but it's the early stages of it I believe.
Also until now the only way for a listener to Boost a show is using BoostCLI on RaspiBlitz or the Alby desktop extension with Podverse web.

Don’t worry those of us that have heard about it don’t really know what it is either. I’ve looked at it some but if I can’t send Value to a podcaster I don’t look much deeper since it’s just another wallet.
From what I can tell the Mint is kind of like a pool of sats (converted to ecash) so you don’t need channels to move funds around since it’s all mixed together.
This is the direction things seem to be moving in the BTC space.

I was already using NWC for Nostr stuff so when I stumbled across the /node page I connected it to see what happened.
Also you can disconnect it at anytime to switch back to the Alby hosted wallet. Just reconnect it like you did the first time.
I burned through my budget in a week and had to make a new connection but good news is the budget works.

It’s cool shit. I did notice that the Alby dashboard takes longer to load but other than that it’s working.
What Alby is building is going to be super powerful for Bitcoiners that use 2.0 apps.
If we had a lightning wallet that supported NWC I don’t see why people can’t do what you just did with your node but with a wallet on their phone.

It’s a little confusing but once it’s connected you don’t need to change anything in the 2.0 apps since this adds your node as the backend for the account you’re already using in 2.0 apps.

That’s different, you need to connect it on /node
Click Use Your Own Node and paste the NWC pairing string from the NWC app on your Umbrel.
The NWC app on your Umbrel is what connecting it to Alby.

I went to the NWC app on my node, hit connect app, copied the pairing key, when to getalby.com/node and pasted it there.
Any 2.0 app that I was already signed into with Alby before still uses the same log in and I haven't changed anything in the 2.0 apps just on the Alby website.
You can add multiple wallets to the Alby extension so maybe thats what your talking about with the multiple wallets.

Mine shows up as it always does but it just has my node balance attached to it.
I think connecting it to getalby.com/node is a "hack" until AlbyHub is released.
@npub1ckf…xct2 has been helping me figure out how this is suppose to work.

It's probably the same here in the US for new users. I think Dave and I are grandfathered in and If I wanted to buy a larger amount, then I'd probably have to upload my ID.
Maybe not for new users but it's very easy to use and cheap if you know what you're getting into.
I bought $100 yesterday and Strike only took $0.94 in fees. This was with my bank account so it's cheaper but takes a few days to process.

I signed up for it about 3 years ago so I can't remember how much KYC they required. I dont remember giving them my ID but they do have my bank account info.
I've never used MoonPay or other services that 2.0 apps have added b/c of the same KYC issues. The having to upload a picture of my ID is where I draw the line.
I'm sure Oscar will be looking into Strike more that they can use it first hand. They are also asking people in the US if/how it works with Fountain

This is one of the reasons I haven’t looked into things like Fedimint or eCash much.
Your funds are held in a mint that you have to trust and if it disappears, you mess something up or don’t understand it your funds are gone.
I know this is all new but this stuff gets caught up in the Nostr hype and seems dangerous to new people coming into Bitcoin.

I know you see them and to reply you need a node running Helipad.
A listener has to Boost from Castamatic or Curiocaster and you can reply in Helipad.
When you reply in Helipad, I get a Boostagram notification in my email from Alby.

I do have a CLN node up and running to test #Bolt12 stuff, but I still think it's years away.
Either way here's the address for it and I'll pin this so its easily available.
According to Zeus, Plasma - Core Lightning Wallet for iOS and ZEUS alpha are the only ones that let you pay a Bolt12 invoice. Both require a Core-Lightning node to connect to.
