I have thoughts about the Levant, Israel, Western Guilt, and the inherent racism of middle eastern politics.
Jews have always been in Palestine and the rest of the Levant. Arabs have always been in the Levant; Christians, Muslims, Zoroastrians and Jews, pretty much coexisted for thousands of years.
Israel was created by the West because they didn't want Jews in Europe. Plain and simple...and chose Palestine as reparations for German sins.
Not all Jews are Zionists, but Zionism is the founding principle of Israel. (See Irgun) Zionism is just Nazi rhetoric in Hebrew letters. It calls for racial purity, religious purity, and the expulsion of anyone not pure enough.
Meanwhile, America sends billions in weapons, and refuses to acknowledge when their own agencies say Israel is breaking the law.
Israel is about to plunge the planet into war, and America is funding it.

I am unfamiliar with a lot of modern uk history. Can you give me context for when/where this was happening? The photo is amazing. Judging by clothes, I’d guess this to be late 60s, early 70s? Similar pictures in the US in that period had young people lining up against armed guards, but pre Kent State, Americans didn’t think cops would open fire on civilians, so there was a lot more sticking flowers in the guns, general disregard of the danger in the us psyche at the time.

Na, I have lupus and rh arthritis, so I have days where my joints don’t want to cooperate. Most durable medical equipment is not designed for women. That which is, is not designed for women built like rugby players. 🤣. So, I want to try to design support for old gymnasts, that we can slide on and off and can be tossed in a washer and inexpensive to replace when the elastic goes. Apropos of nothing, what is the path that leads to risk management? Is it primarily a math based process, or do you also have to factor sociology, pen tests, data containment, etc.? I have an idea of how actuarials define risk, but they don't generally consider continuity, so much as "how much is this going to cost to fix". The nightmare I went through to get a real id. I had to get divorce papers, with court seals on them from a divorce in 1993. Birth certificates, university transcripts, change my social security name, it was absurd. My daughter is a transwoman and autistic. We're in Texas. They just came out with a thing where you can put disabilities like autism as a marker on your driver's license, and theoretically it means the cops shouldn't freak out if it takes you longer to answer etc. I asked her if she wanted to change her DL and she said "No Mom, I think we're already on enough watchlists, we probably don't need to advertise." (That said, I am trying to find a way out of Texas.)

I mean, that's the other thing, is without knowing exactly how the pagers were triggered, it leaves open the possibility that they could have triggered anywhere in the world. Like say...on a plane. Westerners don't realize how ubiquitous pagers are in the rest of the world.

It is absolutely racism. They may not know that’s where it came from, but spicy food was what the servants ate. While WASPs were eating boiled beef (ew), their Black, Latin, Middle Eastern and Asian servants were eating food with flavor.
I didn’t really know my father’s people, as they weren’t happy about my skin color, but the one time I spent a summer in the Hamptons was the blandest, whitest food I have ever in my life seen served on purpose. Like these are people that thought ketchup was too tangy. I would wait till people were asleep and go make chai tea, and the housekeeper stocked some naan and yogurt and figs for me so I didn’t die. 🤣

We are dealing with the same thing, having been born on military bases outside the United States. Beloved went to renew his DL, and they refused because his birth certificate is from Germany. So, we're having to go through the state department to get the documents so he can get a DL and his passport with the realid nonsense.
And the hoops I had to go through because I'd been married as a teenager, and took his last name briefly...for me to get my real ID, I had to travel to the courthouse where the divorce was finalized 30 years ago, because they could only hand notarized copies of the divorce to me...because reasons? In addition to birth certificates, baptism certificates, school transcripts...it was a ridiculous amount of stupid, just to get a all the government agencies to agree I'm who I've always been.
But yeah, I canceled trips, because suddenly military brats born on US bases to US service people aren't automatically citizens anymore. Thanks GOP!

You know, I miss my grandfathers. They were good men, who did the best they could given the era and times in which they were raised.
Both of them fought in WW2. One survived Normandy, and one was there when they liberated Dachau in 1945. These men hated fascism so much that Hogan's Heroes was banned at both their houses. They both expressed the feeling that to laugh at Nazis was to diminish the horror of what they were, and a disservice to the men who died fighting them.
I miss them terribly, but I'm glad they didn't live to see what America has become.

Right?! By the time I got my hysterectomy (at the peak of the pandemic…there’s a lovecraft story there I can tell you), they pulled out things that were so big that they struggled to find the right fruit size to describe them. (Why do they do that? Your tumor is the size of an orange, a cherry, a watermelon. Why is my uterus producing produce?)
Can you imagine how much better life would be for women if we could just park our uterus somewhere until we needed it? Or we could donate them to people who need one? A lending library of uteri.

But soon my darling, it will all be over, and you can join the glorious coven of free crones! Free from the mood swings, the overpriced sanitary products, the inability to wear white pants. (OK, I'm short and round, I still won't wear white, I'd look like a volleyball. But you get my point.)
I did not think I would enjoy menopause, and girl...for those of us that really suffered from our periods...it is a freaking godsend. If I had it to do all over again, I swear to Bob, I'd get a hysterectomy at 21.

I too have looked around and thought, I’ll just take the cat and these books....and then I realize how many books there are, and go clean the kitchen cause it’s easier than packing. 🤷🏻‍♀️🤣

cool, thanks. I just had a print done by…canvaspop, had to go look it up. Quality was outstanding, price for a one off wasn’t too bad, but they don’t have the infrastructure that FA seems to have in place. Like, a buyer couldn’t go browsing around my work, it’s a transaction from me to the print shop, then me to client, or drop shipped in this case to them, with me trusting the quality with fingers crossed. 🤣
