I consumed raw goat milk for a few weeks many years ago to help gain weight but it was from a friend’s tiny cheese operation and she had incredible sterile technique and a few well tended goats.
There is no way I’d drink from unknown animals but I grew up on a tiny farm and know better. I don’t consume any dairy, now.
I resent that FDA are not monitoring/controlling the raw milk industry in this era of cross species pathogens. 😳

I haven’t found anyone who will take me on and I’ve searched.
I also know I’m not taking any pharmaceuticals. It never fails I have the paradoxical reaction. I’ve had that so long it’s gone through a name change in my time, used to be the pediatric response.
What I need are simple books about ADHD that aren’t triggering.
I suffer from what I’ve recently seen here described as ADHDread that I called procrastination but that’s not what it is. Among other things.

What do you even do when you’re in your 60s and having to self diagnose for every little thing? Both of my kids, age 37 and 40, are diagnosed ADHD and have said “Mom, you have ADHD, you need to be diagnosed” but it’s impossible to be diagnosed. I’m absolutely certain I’m on the spectrum and have c-PTSD as well. My only recourse is to keep finding coping mechanisms like living in my noise cancelling headset unless I am in the forest and staying away from people.

These last 3 weeks of recovery have been enlightening.
Every single medical entity involved from #UWMedical to the pharmacy made gross errors in my pain management and UW was dosing me with IV opioids without my permission even though my medical record says “no tolerance for opioids” and an alternative plan for pain management was in place months before surgery. Two entities withheld care when I pointed out their errors.
I don’t think there’s much that can be done due to power they wield.

My online mental healthcare practitioner just no showed me so I called him.
He said he didn’t have me scheduled.
I reminded him of the detailed conversation we had when he scheduled this appointment and he “oh, yeah!” remembered.
When scheduling the appointment I had been home for 24 hours post total hip replacement, was completely addled by opioids and pain yet 15 days later I remember enough specific details so he remembers the convo.
It’s not the first time.
I was very nice to him.

So far my peeps need to tell me that I will only get well if I move.
They don’t seem to realize that I wear an Apple Watch all the time since 2015, except when charging it, and that it tracks all my movements. So far today (11:00 am) I have walked 4000 steps, climbed 3 sets of stairs, stood 7/12 hours, and exercised 18/30 minutes without doing an official workout.
It’s not the movement; first we must sleep to get well. That’s what I’m not able to do.
Sleep is the first step, not movement.

I ended up spending 4 nights in hospital when I was supposed to be released after one night.
The reason? I needed to get up 31 stairs to reach my bedroom at home.
PT cracked the stair climbing whip for 3 days.
When I got home I couldn’t make it up 3 stairs, so I queried my inner child and was told “sit on your bottom and scoot up the stairs one at a time.”
And that is how I got the hospital stay I needed to care for me after a total hip replacement. And how I got up the stairs.

I just had my first serious argument about COVID w/a non-masking friend.
I asked if they would take a poop or pee on the ground in front of everyone. They said no!
I pointed out that making sure our exhaled breath isn’t *polluting* the environment is also our responsibility.
Exhalations are gaseous waste products we make; feces and urine are solid and liquid waste products.
We are responsible for all our waste products especially if they contain pathogens like COVID.

That and I wear leggings with a holster pocket for my phone at all waking times so that if I have an accident I can contact whoever or at least have my phone on me if I’m not conscious and the watch calls 911. My current medical info is accessible on my iPhone. This is how I more safely maintain my independent living! (Get the watch if you can, it’s amazing and fun!)

Controlled exceptions include 1) going to the dentist: get a 7:00 am appointment, make sure your providers are masked, bring your portable air purifier; 2) learn to hold your breath to unmask briefly for identification check points or when sipping water through a straw. Don’t look to others to lead by example. Know your rules & experience confidence born from applying your knowledge.

Days where less medicine is needed happen. Just one day of less medicine can maintain efficacy so the need to increase dose over time doesn’t happen. I know that. Do you think a lot of people who need these medicines also know this and self moderate, too?

After telling them 3 ways they could keep me safe and collect the swab, a worker finally piped up that they are bringing back MASKS FOR EVERYONE in all their medical facilities starting October 1. So I’ll be returning for the swab, then, and they are going to let me bring my air purifier, too.

Same taxonomic family Coronaviridae but NOT the same Genus. Other members of the same Genus as COVID include SARS the original with ~10% mortality rate and MERS with ~ 35% mortality rate (some debate on this). The fact is this is a novel virus we don’t know a lot about considering but what we do know is avoidance is always best practice. Always. #MaskUp

I propose that there’s a synergistic effect between my chemistry and baobab oil that makes it work for me and that it may not work for everyone. I’m thinking repelling mosquitoes may not have a one size fits all solution.

@npub1c5c…644a Growing up in swamps on the gulf coast wo/a sealed up house meant LOTS of mosquito bites. I got so many I now no longer react to bites even though I’m a magnet. But then one summer back in 2018 I was back down there and the mosquitoes parted like the Red Sea in front of me. I thought something must be horribly wrong. Took me awhile to figure out it was the new oil I was using on my skin. Read up on it and yes, baobab oil is thought to be a repellent. Works for me.

@npub1c5c…644a I have experience w/black bear, mostly in the Sangre de Cristos, while camping w/my kids. We had bear encounters every trip (and I still have them so often I feel like a bear magnet). We never kept food, toothpaste, soap or deodorant in our tent. After a very large aggressive bear visited our camp at night I started brewing huge pots of herbal tea for us then had my kids urinate all around our campsite. It worked. We made noise while hiking and that worked, too.

#[0] #[1] I started 1st grade in Mont Belvieu, Texas, in 1966 before they moved the school (and shut down the town) off the top of the world’s largest petroleum underground storage that was leaking! Our dress code then was more strict than this. Girls could only wear dresses! I blame ongoing toxic exposure to petroleum & other pollution in TX for much of the toxic behavior seeping from creepy evangelical cults into state institutions.
