Hope it works out for you! I own like 15+ cages and this has been the only one to give me zero issues...
okay not zero, sometimes I poke out the end and it rubs on dry padding and causes issues, but I solved that with some lanolin diaper cream. I just add a dollop to the tip during a diaper change and it fixes it without any UTI risks or anything.

I never had any luck with the Holy Trainers. I have lots of friends who swear by them so I picked one up circa 2017 and it burned and pulled like no tomorrow.
I looked on Kink3D's site and I am not necessarily seeing the ring style that I have that's so comfortable on there so here's the link to the exact knock-off that I have along with a picture in case the listing dies and someone wants to see which ring style I finally settled on feeling the best.
I *think* it's a recreation XD ring from one of the earlier models but I'm not 100%.

Gotcha, okay that definitely changes things a bit then. In that case, you might actually wanna look into a full belt. I've personally never tried one so couldn't give you any actual advice for looking but I've been curious myself. There's some full belts that I've seen that are low profile enough that they might work for that. A fufu might still work, but it leans much more towards transformation of the genitals from one gender to another vs nulling.
otherwise, I'd really consider a flat, metal cage with a support strap. Metal only because most of the flat cages are chinese specials and I know that the round metal rings are usually much more comfortable than their plastic counterparts in that market.

Yes I have many advice actually.
First off, I'm also a grower and not a shower and the search for the perfect cage was 10+ years long but I finally found it in the Cobra from Kink3D. Mind you the one I have is a knockoff in what I believe is a smoother plastic which came from aliexpress but I digress. The cobra has a much better ball ring design and it is the first to not hurt me. That being said, 10+ years of experimentation has caused me to hang much lower so devices do fit a bit better now as a result.
Next to address, I've found small cages that just compress my flaccid size slightly to be the most comfortable to me as a grower - however, due to this, I wear a support strap with mine. It's a belt/nylon strap that goes around your waist and snaps onto the ring of the chastity cage and it keeps it close to your body so that erections don't push the cage away from your body and cause both pain and increasing dysphoria. You can use a shoelace t accomplish this as well. Soft and round shoelaces I've found to be the best wearing if you should so choose.
Next, they do make chastity cages now in all sorts of shapes and designs, some of them are designed to dress up the cage to look more like lady parts. Some people find those help, some people don't so ymmv there.
I would also potentially posit that you might be interested in a fufu clip - which is (to me) is sort of in between a chastity cage and a gaff and can be also worn with a support strap to increase comfort and security. Basically a fufu clip lets you tuck your parts in such a way that they both look feminine and have a similar function as well (would probably be great for wanding). I have never tried one but I know many who have who swear by them and while it most certainly would take some getting used to, I think it might be worth exploring.

I've warned my mother that she's going to have to make the switch when she starts seeing the ads come back and that I'll help her do it. She's all tied up with chromes password manager, despite having bitwarden as well so that'll be an annoying thing.

Actually I did just look it up. That's weird to me. I don't know how they're going to achieve that with standardization being what it is but we'll see.
Arguably we already have a BSOD, its called watching the boot process, but I digress. This would make it easier for folks like my mother and sister to at least have an idea of what's wrong before it gets brought to me to fix.

give it time. Mastodon has a bit of a reputation still which is undeserved but still existent nonetheless.
The Facebook esque styling might also have helped. I know a lot of babyfurs who hate Twitter or Twitter likes but would take to a social media platform like that instantly.
Some of that won't ever go away but as people realize mastodon is more social and less media, you'll start seeing more.

I can sympathize but not empathize in this instance. All of the content in my feed is something I want to see on a daily basis unless on the rare occasion there is some triggering post where someone is being "preachy", which I filter quickly into a list and move on :3
I certainly understand that others might be more picky though.

I set my accent color to pink, set a smaller font size, and set CW's to always show - incidentally I've even got an exclusion for them in uBlock because I just don't care for them at all. Basically yeah - I customize everything I can if I can.

I actually do really like the metro style that Windows employs. The rounded edges, small, tasteful touches of gloss, and pastel coloring is really, really nice and I love working with and recreating that inside of my Linux boxes...
But I cannot stand the lack of control I have over Microsoft products. So I use firefox and theme it like edge. I use fedora and theme it to work and look a lot like windows 11.
yeah I'm one of those. Idc. Microsoft ain't wrong on the design front - most of these companies aren't. The art, design, and general ui of these things are fantastic... everything else just sucks.

I run a pihole on my network along with unbound for a local, recursive DNS. I also run uBlock Origin and AdGuard (yes I'm one 'those' people with two adblockers lol). I feel the pain. Half the time shit just doesn't work and I'll scream at it for about 15 minutes before it occurs to me to check my filters and, lo and behold, 9/10 - its blocking it lmao.
Beautiful piece of infuriating tech. I cherish it always.

I mean I still have Walmart+ and basically its becoming what amazon *used* to be - at least for me. I unfortunately can only get my toothpaste through amazon though - at least without coughing up an arm and a leg, but hopefully I can pester walmart loudly enough to get them to start carrying it soon. It is not a spicy hot take to say that most linux apps look awful. They do. Because most people who use it are programmers or enthusiasts and not designers. I like LibAdwaita, I just don't prefer it. I am very picky about my GUI and I like to shake things up pretty often as well.
This is coming from the person who literally skinned firefox to look like Microsoft Edge though because I happen to think edge looks really, really great - I just detest chromium based browsers and won't abandon firefox.
Also you could achieve what you're describing with having the shell handle stuff if you introduced the magic mouse or something as a paradigm - but it pretty much would require some sort of multi-touch or gesture-based input I would think. Gnome tried it a little with the hot corner thing and most people that I know hate it with a passion so I don't think mouse gestures would work. Apple mostly tried this I think but they don't share and they're dumb anyways :blobfoxgoogly:

ah that's fair. I am massively OCD about the design of my desktop. I spend hours and hours tweaking pixels and font rendering just to get the drop shadows on the letter 't' looking correct lol.
I haven't written anything in GTK since 2.x days (looks like we're all the way up to 4.x now). I've never written anything for kwin nor worked with it directly before to be fair so I have no idea on that front. I've definitely heard the KDE/Gnome as platforms approach before and I honestly disagree as even if it might be the truth, it shouldn't be in my opinion. Applications should be unified across all desktops - issue is there's 2 fronts to this idea: 1) Devs should make their app look consistent down to window controls across all desktops, or, 2) Devs should make their app look consistent across all desktops but leave drawing of the window controls up to the Desktop Environment (however it may do so).
I used to firmly be in camp 1, but I've shifted over the years to camp 2. What I've never understood is why both seems to be such an impossible compromise. As you said, you can currently just change a dconf key to say the user doesn't want any window controls. It should be that there's a dconf/gconf key to say whether the application prefers to use SSD or CSD. The argument I heard against that back in the day was that it was "too time intensive to maintain two separate implementations", however I have always been of the opinion that that was a cheap and lazy way out of the discussion.
Anyways - sorry for the tangent. I forgot about all of that until just now lol. Was like circa 2011? 2012? Somewhere around in there that all of that transpired for me. I had hoped we were long beyond it but I suppose some arguments are just too silly to expire.

My understanding was that they were actively saboing GTK so that it wouldn't provide that functionality the same anymore. Perhaps I misread?
anyways - just write your apps in QT is probably the lesson here. GTK doesn't play nice with other DE's from my experience. Maybe it's gotten better in the last 4 years, but last I tried in 2020 GTK on anything other than gnome looks like hot garbage and was annoying to setup.
In my mind, what they're doing is offloading that work onto someone else which, once again, makes it harder to develop things for the linux desktop and further creates fragmentation - something people consistently use as an excuse to not develop for linux and, well, they're not wrong and I hate it.
Hopefully they either wake up or implement something that makes this worth it - because right now I feel really bad for my gnome brethren.

Yeah I'm reading more now. Didn't realize this was a thing. I'm incredibly glad I swapped over to KDE. They genuinely cannot maintain this. There has to be some sort of unified solution via toolkits or something like Windows or Mac has for this to work out for them or they are just sunk - practically overnight.
I cannot see spotify or discord or slack or any of the proprietary apps I tend to use on a daily basis, recoding an entire app for Linux just to implement a title bar of their own - they'll just either leave it broken or discontinue the app on Linux entirely.
If they want to be windows they should act like windows and produce a toolkit - otherwise they should be handling Server-Side Decorations properly. Just my thoughts anyways.

Forcing devs to either write their own or just... have their app look like garbage isn't conducive to furthering the usefulness, cohesion, and broader adoption of Linux.
There's support for Client Side - and then there's jumping off a bridge. Sounds like gnome chose bridge jumping. Glad KDE is sane.
