went to home depot to get a broadcast seed spreader - got the mini scotts they got there for $50 ( the cheapest spreader on the market, also the most popular )
before going to Home Depot i watched reviews on YouTube and they said not to get the scotts mini and to get earthway instead ( that is sold on Amazon ). only problem is earthway is SIX TIMES the price.
i was like nah it can't be worth six times more ... so i got the scotts mini ... and it literally fell apart before i could even put it in the trunk of the car - i noticed a metal pin in the shopping cart and when i got home it didn't work ( clearly the pin fell out of it ).
i decided that wasn't the quality i was looking for, went on Amazon and ordered the Earthway.
let's hope it's an improvement !
when i was younger i would research things into oblivion and get the best. back then i would keep whatever i got. today i try the low cost option first, but most of the time i end up returning it because it sucks.
yesterday i requested ( it was approved today ) a return for the generic EGO batteries that were 1/3 the price of genuine ones. today i ordered the eartway spreader after trying the shitty scotts mini first because it was 1/6 the price.
i really want to give low cost options a shot. i really want to believe that price and quality aren't the same thing. but at the same time i am very sensitive to quality.
i never thought of it until now but i suppose i operate on a 3 strike policy. if i see 3 examples of cost cutting or poor design in a product it's going back. i don't care how much cheaper it is than a quality product. in case of both generic ego batteries and scotts mini spreader there were MORE THAN 3 strikes ...
this is not how most people look at it. most people look at 2 products and try to determine how much better a product should be for a given price difference. this is wrong. you should only apply that kind of comparison to compare two products both of which are good. for example two trims of the same toyota. but when the product is bad the price doesn't matter. it's going back.
i apply this to people as well. my mother looks at somebody like her sadist jew husband and be like "nobody is perfect" ... i can't think like this. if a person is trash i won't associate with them period.
there are times when you should be nuanced and there are times where you should draw the line. takes a genius like me to know which to do when.

couldn't get the mower out of the box - ended up just cutting the box
this is what most people do anyway but the manual actually suggested using two people to lift it out of the box
but i couldn't do it on my own because the handle has a stupid design where it can neither be disconnected nor firmly attached while in the box and with only 2 hands i can't hold lawnmower, handle and box at the same time
just a tiniest design change to the handle attachment mechanism would have made it possible to get it out without destroying the box but sadly people are dumb as shit and even the best products are designed by retards with 1% of my intelligence

but it's one of those things i am happy to learn. i never want to run a full blown farm like @npub1acg…p35c but seeing that i'm white i should at least be able to have a nice lawn, because i have no intention of living in an apartment building in a city full of NIGGERS.

computers are very fast if coded properly. for example if you run a good game like FortNite you will be shocked by how fast your computer is. but then you take the same computer to YouTube and everything bogs down and you feel like you need a new PC.
the last PC i build had 56 logical cores and 8 channels of DDR5 ram ( i am only populating 4 of them so far ). but shit software will run everything single threaded and make everything wait for some kind of response from a server that never comes ...
IMO the real difference is that fast games like FortNite are always eating the entire CPU and the entire GPU power. i have a Kill-A-Watt meter on my big PC and when i fire up FortNite ( or PUBG etc. ) the power draw goes straight to 600 watts and stays there ...
in other words the game doesn't wait. it computes nonstop. it doesn't matter what the speed of the server you're connected to it's burning the full 600 watts all the time.

actually the weight of the blades would have little effect on performance. a heavy plane can't take off but a turbine doesn't need to take off. fiberglass is a popular material for making boats - probably because you can make the entire hull as one piece. i guess that is also why they use it for those turbine blades, plus corrosion resistance - maybe resistance to lightning strikes.

i am using Chrome on Windows 10 with 32 gb ram and cable internet
not everything is slow. actual timeline loads decently. but i don't open NoStrudel on timeline - i open it on notifications because my first priority is to reply to any messages. i don't exactly care about what is on the timeline because it lags Twitter by several hours anyway.
when i open notifications page it spends several seconds with the sign "loading" but that is understandable ... what is NOT acceptable is that the "create new" button is not clickable until the notifications load !
there is no reason to wait for the notifications to load before i can begin composing a post.
the other two pain points are having to enter password into Alby 50 times a day
and the fact that whenever i upload an image it takes about 30 seconds or so, which is outrageously slow
ultimately i don't care about the timeline as i said. nothing there anyway. i want to be able to make posts ( with images ) quickly and check notifications quickly. and those happen to be the slowest.

my older PC can play shooter games fine but can barely load YouTube pages on a 300 Mbit connection
that absolute dogshit YouTube is - Walmart / McDonalds of media consumption
why make a clean interface that works when you can pile as much shit onto a page as possible then have AdBlock fight with the 500 ads until a multi-core CPU, 32 GB of ram and 300 Mbit connection isn't enough to load a page and watch a video
this same computer somehow worked fine on YouTube 5 years ago.
the problem doesn't occur on some kind of 8K HDR videos - it occurs on REGULAR quality videos.
if the problem was just on high bitrate videos i would get a new graphics card but the problem is the page itself, not the video.
unless they changed video codecs then the problem could be the video.

the trick i use is i remind myself that the bitch doesn't know what level is good so i deliberately work at a level lower than what i am capable of which allows me to stay super relaxed and radiate confidence
