It's an echo chamber. We don't need an algo because we're all in it for the same reasons.
It reminds me of the libertarian meetings at the public library once a month.
They come together to complain about government interference, pat themselves on the back for knowing the truth, and then scare off anyone new who happens along.
Great people here and I enjoy it. And I absolutely hope Nostr continues to grow and other communities move over.
But it's not really a diverse community, from what I can see.

After looking into this, @nprofile…zka7 is correct. It appears CLI and @nprofile…970s are the only methods to setup an address when closing a channel.
It reads that it has to be part of the close request. That means you have to be the one closing to channel to set this alternative address. It doesn't appear you get the opportunity if the other party closes.
It would be cool if an alternative address (cold storage) could be part of the message when opening a channel with a peer.

Advice for developers.

Maybe.
But both Fountain and AntennaPod pull files from the same resources, which isn't on Nostr.
Both Zapstore and Obtainium pull from the same sources, which are also not from Nostr.
I can still zap and communicate on Nostr with all the same parties, I haven't lost that ability.
I don't see open source projects as being backpedeling. There is no need for bitcoin and nostr to be built into every app.
Though, it was said some time ago that AntennaPod was thinking about adding zap ability. Not sure what type of headway has been made there. And if they do, they would then be superior to Fountain in every way, I have no doubt.
And, if you don't like their direction, we can always fork it and go another. I don't believe we can do that with Fountain.

I had to finally ditch Fountain and and Zapstore.
Neither work great.
Fountain has too many hiccups.
- It doesn't download automatically even when you set it to.
- It will often stall when opened and requires a force stop to start again.
- It won't play when connected to the car unless open my phone and start it.
- The speeds are all over the place, even if you set defaults.
- And, swtiching aways, I learned you cannot export an OPML. I'm pretty certain every podcast app I have used allows you to export. That's pretty devious in my opinion. An attempt to trap customer by making it difficult to exit.
So I'm back to Antennapod. Works great! I won't be able to zap but zapping isn't worth the hassle. If anyone from Fountain see this, my advice is to work on your core features of being a podcast app. That is a far higher priority than nostr and zaps. Those are bells and whistles. If the foundation won't hold, then the rest is eventually meaningless.
For Zapstore, I'm back to Obtainium. Zapstore just didn't update well enough. I would need to go and clear the cache every so often to get new updates. Not sure why but that was a bigger hassle than I wanted. I routinely see updates in Obtainium without problems.
I like the trust aspect that zapstore is trying to convey, but really, you are still just downloading from github. Whether @nprofile…vdel signs for Amber in Zapstore, or I just find their github account directly, doesn't make much difference, in my opinion.
Both are great projects but both just need more polishing. Maybe I'll give them another attempt if they keep at it and improving.

I have opened and closed several before, and they all just use the wallet on the node.
I just read that you can set a cold storage wallet to be used for those and/or any HLTCs that go on-chain.

Subsidies are immoral anyway. The goal should be reduce subsidies rather than implement them.
Subsidies used to poach companies does nothing to increase jobs but simply relocates them one location to another, all at the expense and detriment of the general taxpayer.
I had worked on a state compact to prohibit subsidies between member states. So if a state joined, it couldn't try to poach them from other member states.
Kansas and Missouri (my home) were in discussions but COVID ended up killing that conversation and it unfortunately hasn't started again.

The option wasn't on the payment page any longer.
I had to "Add Credits" first, then use the credits.
Not sure why it was removed from the payment page.

The option to use Bitcoin in the payment method screen has been removed.
I had to "Add Credits" instead.

Interesting. The link in their renewal email is incorrect.
Also, there is no Bitcoin payment method on the payment screen. CC or paypal was the only option. It appears to have been removed.
Someone else did mention, that you can Add Credits on the subscription page, which allow BTC. That is still there.
Appreciate the response nonetheless.
