Americans import goods and the US charges a tax on the goods. The American pays. That tax is then passed on into the supply chain resulting in higher prices to Americans.
Your argument, is since China charges taxes on the Chinese (tariffs) that the US government should now charge Americans a higher tax.
That another nation charged taxes on ITS citizens is no justification to increase taxes on Americans.
