I've been doing bit by bit for a while now. The key is to not guilt yourself if you can't find time once in a while and you wind up grabbing whatever it is at the store. It get easier with time.
Start with one thing you think is doable. Laundry soap to a homemade version of a snack you like, there's a video out there somewhere showing you how to do it.
The recipe I use is pretty standard and easy to find online.
For 5 gallons -
Grated bar of Fels Naptha (or Castile Soap) dissolved into 4 cups hot water, put in pot, heat on medium until it dissolves all the way, 10-15 minutes. (do not wander of while this is heating, it can bubble over if it gets too hot)
Fill bucket halfway with hot water and stir in the soap mix, 1 cup borax, and 1 cup of washing soda. I don't add essential oils to scent mine but you can, doesn't take much.
If the bucket isn't full I top it off. Stir until it's all mixed.
After about 24 hours it sets up to a gloppy gel unless it's really warm. I use 1/2 cup so that's 160 loads.

Treat junk food is like any other addiction. It took me 5 tries to quit cigarettes. I'm still working on quitting junk food but am having greater success this go around.
Learning about how habits make us tick (The Power of Habit - Duhigg) and coming up with ways to redirect mine has been very helpful.
You can do it. Keep trying. Future you will thank you for it.🙂

Broth is life. Been dealing with a bout of insomnia and food is very unappealing when I'm like this. Warm broth with loads of spices, that's the stuff.
I just replied. I'll take 'em. 😋 I gave my Mom a packet to try when they visited so now I'm all out and very sad about it.

They get stuck on the fear of what comes next. I've been laid off, been fired from, and have quit more then a few jobs so I don't have much of that left.😅There's always something to move on to.
I love my job. I'm going to miss it when he is forced to retire.

My vote would be for pan-fried in bacon grease. So yummy.
Hubby would want to use his little fryer full of "vegetable oil" though. He thinks I'm nuts about seed oils.
The jam would be a lot of sugar but would be an interesting flavor we can't get off the shelf.
It'll come down to how I feel that day, probably.

Spending the day deep cleaning our home and then gardening for cash. All this work is really getting in the way of my computer time.
I've been so freaking busy I've had no real research and learn time. Which is annoying because the list of stuff I don't know is only getting longer.
