I'm pretty sure radial dials are going to be a standard UI element in the next 10-30 years.
They're used heavily in video games to select contextual actions, so my kid's generation will probably be really used to them for this purpose by the time they're adults, and they'll bring them into other contexts as they become designers and engineers.

Fighting for the glory of your empire takes many forms and carries a heavy personal cost regardless of the specifics.
If you are currently fighting for something, take a moment to really think about it. What are you really fighting for?
Are you fighting for "greatness" or "to prevent the fall (from greatness)"? Have you heard others expressing such sentiments?
Some things are worth fighting for, but make sure it's really worth it.

My kid has an Android device and the storage was full after seemingly very little use. Even more weirdly, the System was using over 50GB! In comparison, my own phone's System uses 12GB.
Everyone in the top search results were mystified, with the most common actionable solution being "do a factory reset". One person even proclaimed "you should be doing a factory reset at least yearly!"
Well, I deleted several multi-hour downloaded YouTube videos (12 hour lullabies) and boom, it was fixed!

I used to live in an area where the tap water was polluted and gross. The line to buy purified water in 5 gallon jugs was always pretty long.
Today I live in a place where the tap water is delicious and clean. I was at the store and walked by the purified water dispenser and there was no line
It really shows how a common good produces value without showing up in measures like GDP. We're still buying that water from a utility, so it'll be measured at 1¢ a gallon instead of $1 per gallon.
