When I hear people casually toss around the prospect of solving our current issues with (total) war, I'm not sure we really understand the full implications of that.
Even if we somehow avoid a nuclear war, the brutality of a modern large-scale war would be unimaginable.
World War 1 and 2 would be nothing in comparison.
There are many technologies that would quickly develop military applications that are presently hard to imagine and would be deeply traumatic to the survivors of such a war.
