It might be that you're using the definition of "pornography" that porn shills have successfully inserted into the public mindset through decades of propaganda, which is: "Any depiction of sexuality is pornography."
Making sure that no linguistic distinction exists between positive and negative depictions of sexuality is an extremely effective method of ensuring that negative depictions of sexuality cannot be criticized, as any such criticism can then be discarded as puritanism, as if it's a criticism of all portrayal of sexuality.
But if you read, for example, the definition of "pornography" put forth in the Civil Rights Ordinance (MacKinnon & Dworkin) you will notice that it's very restricted and makes it abundantly clear that positive and neutral depictions of sexuality are not included in it.

Yeah, Musk's own tweets were very obviously and blatantly boosted. I kept getting his tweets in my notifications with the purple star icon (meaning "recommended by algorithm" from what I can tell) no matter how often I clicked "see this less often." I ultimately just muted his account to get rid of such notifications.
Other right wing accounts I'm not so sure about. The study mentioned by this article seems inconclusive as well. Limited data set, and I think there may be confounding variables, like the fact that Musk himself (with his boosted account) was drawing attention to those accounts, rather than them being boosted explicitly... The increased engagement of those accounts could also be the result of the algorithm having become more neutral, when it was previously biased in the other direction.
All in all, I don't think a shift to the right on Twitter can be denied. The only question is whether it's primarily because of Musk's own boosted account, or because of direct bias in the algorithm, or maybe even a mostly organic and natural phenomenon.

Next time I'll actually just go back to buying a flavored whey one because it tastes so much better. I have no reason to worry about a small amount of sugar or sweeteners since I otherwise don't eat much junk food.

@nprofile…hmru @nprofile…mj4q Protein powder is a very convenient way to increase protein intake. Your meals may not always contain the optimal amount if you're training heavy. It's not expensive either. It's usually going to be significantly cheaper than high-quality meat and cheese.
As for "liquid meals" (which I think the left-side bottle represents) they usually have a very good macro and micro nutrient profile and are also very convenient, though they're usually quite expensive. I really like Yfood here in Germany but it's expensive as fuck.
The other four products shown at the bottom are unknown to me, and may be money grabs and/or fads, I don't know. I guess the bottom right is probably a "protein bar" which tend to be money grabs from what I've seen in supermarkets. Probably still healthier than the options at the top, though.

It's SHA-1 that's deprecated, not SHA as a whole. Pretty sure ssh-keygen hasn't been using SHA-1 for a long time now. SHA-2 was published in 2001 and SHA-3 in 2015. I think ssh-keygen still uses SHA-2 (specifically SHA-256) but I'm not sure.
To be honest I'm not clear on where exactly the hashing algorithm comes into play in private/public key based authentication with SSH, so I can't tell which of the hashing related defaults mentioned in the man page of ssh-keygen applies here. It mentions sha256 in some place and sha512 in some other place as being the default. It mentions "SHA1" somewhere as an option and says it's not recommended.

I fucked up my knee over a period of months by doing leg presses too heavy. Now it won't heal properly since almost 2 years at this point. Chronic PFPS. If you notice any chronic joint pain that comes back week after week, even if it doesn't hurt that bad, be super careful. You could be wearing out the joint over time without noticing.

- Simple compound movements like pushup, pull up, squat, bench, etc. Just make sure you hit every major muscle group with at least one exercise. Weights or bodyweight doesn't really matter much.
- Progressive overload. As an exercise becomes easy, you gotta make it harder again. Easiest way to do so is by increasing weight. If doing bodyweight only, try harder angles (negative leverage).
- If you can do a movement for 20+ repetitions without pausing, it may be a bit too easy if your goal is muscle size and strength rather than endurance. Try to aim for anywhere around 10 repetitions instead, but it's really not that important (unless you're a pro with hyper specific training). If you can't be bothered finding weights, then just going higher reps is ok; you'll still build lots of muscle doing dozens of pushups. (I'm nearing 50 pushups but kinda stuck around 45.)
- Eat sufficient protein. About 1 gram per kg of bodyweight per day is probably enough, but 2 grams per kg won't hurt. (Beyond that you'll definitely just be wasting/burning it.) Buy a cheap protein powder without any extra BS in it if you don't eat enough protein in your meals to reach 1-2 g per kg. Source of protein doesn't matter much, but if it comes mostly from plants then maybe eat a little more of it (e.g. aim for the 2 g per kg) because plant proteins tend to be lower quality. Soy is great though, unironically. It's almost equivalent to meat in protein quality.
- Creatine is the only supplement proven to improve strength. 5 grams per day. Not so important if you're not a pro, but it's fairly cheap. Get the cheapest type, like monohydrate; the rest is BS.
- Caffeine 20 minutes before workout is known to help as well, for a momentary improvement to performance.
- Always drink enough water.
- Don't fall for memes like "low carb" or "low fat." These are lifestyle choices and may work for some but ultimately we're evolved to metabolise all three macronutrients (fat, protein, carb). Fat is literally essential. Eating fat doesn't make you fat; it's just more calorie dense than carbs. Gaining / losing weight is just calories in vs. out.

Chrome coz it won't belong to Google anymore and whoever ends up acquiring it will probably have no interest in making a good free browser. (Google was only doing it because it gives them control over ad tech and whatnot.)
And Firefox because Mozilla will go bankrupt as Google won't be allowed to bribe them to be the default search engine any more, which was Mozilla's main source of income.
I really wanna know where this will lead us. Maybe web standards will finally go back to serving people rather than companies? People will go back to using free browsers, made by devs who only care about making a good browser, so web standards will have to follow suit and serve the interest of the people?
Or maybe I'm overly optimistic. But I've no idea what other possibilities there are. Most people won't be interested in paying money for a good browser. They'll either use whatever their OS ships, or they'll install some power-user browser made by and for the people.

But the highly public way she's going about her lifestyle normalizes coomerism, which is highly worrying to me. Men see this kind of stuff as a justification of sexual deviance. All the more so if it's a woman normalizing it, because then they can say: "See, women actually love this stuff too, if they would just let themselves loose!" And that decreases their empathy towards women who are more sensitive and reserved about sexuality, which is probably the majority of women for one or another reason.
Having grown up with porn, I used to think like that myself. Thank dog I was always a shy and sensitive person who wouldn't have ever dared to cross the boundaries of a girl, but I did believe in the ideology. Growing up in Turkey, I thought the only reason the girls there are so reserved about sexuality is that they're "brainwashed by puritan ideals" since Turkish culture is a bit more sexually conservative overall. It was only much later, as I read anti-porn feminist books and such, that I started to realize women around the planet are often quite sensitive about sexuality not because of some ominous universal puritan brainwashing but due to a variety of factors such as:
- Constant creepy, predatory, harassing and coercive sexual behavior from men turning sexuality into a generally frightening topic for a lot of women.
- Men often starting to request weird things that may be physically uncomfortable, or just feel degrading, once they're in the bedroom, even if they've not been creepy or predatory or such up until that point.
- Simply being on the more sensitive end and thus naturally not wanting physical intimacy with anyone before you can fully emotionally trust them. (I'm like this even though I'm male!)
And ultimately, even if it's because a woman has been brainwashed into puritan morals, you still have to respect her boundaries and it's not OK to shame her or otherwise discriminate against her for having been raised like that...
Sex liberals will start yapping about consent consent consent if you bring up rape culture, but there's always this underlying implication that, if you don't consent to various degrading things, you're really quite boring and probably a pathetic brainwashed prude. And that of course will make people "consent" to things they don't really enjoy. I've consented to being a wage slave for 10 years. That doesn't mean I desired being one. Now I consent to shitty tracking ads being served from my website in exchange for money, even though I hate the ad industry. Consent isn't everything; we need to go beyond, but liberals ain't ready for that discourse.

So many things I still want to learn in the area of software. Assembly, Zig, OS programming... But so little motivation.
Yesterday I "installed" Zig and zls (downloaded and extracted pre built binaries lmao) and zig-mode for Emacs, ran "zig init" and built the sample hello world program it creates for you, and then I already felt like "aight enough for today."
I feel like there's a super slow healing process at least. My insomnia is almost gone and very slowly I feel anxieties decrease and motivation build up.

@nprofile…359z It would be super annoying having to run a fork of something, especially if it's a big and fundamental thing on my puter like say a central component of GuixSD or whatever OS I'm running.
(Tbh the politics isn't the only reason I've moved away from Guix. The resource hunger of purely functional package / system management is insane.)
Sure you don't need to interact with the community but it's useful if you can do so without feeling like you're entering a lion's den every time.
When I think about it, I'm literally experiencing the very thing that CoCs were supposed to solve. It's so ironic. And no, I'm not faking it to make a point. I feel legit uncomfortable and fearful going near communities that have gone "woke" because of how they pile on and bully you for not conforming to them.

I wonder if there's any #GNU/Linux or #BSD distribution out there that's relatively modern, stable, and well-maintained, and also not taken over by political nonsense?
It doesn't have to be purely free software, though that would be a plus.
Maybe #OpenBSD? I've used that before on a laptop (until ~10 years ago I think) and it was honestly OK, until my Firefox was so outdated I couldn't watch WebM that people began using in place of GIFs... OpenBSD doesn't seem to have a CoC, which is good.
#FreeBSD has a CoC but it seems acceptable, maybe. At least it lists "sex" alongside "gender identity" as two separate characteristics so it's not entirely brainrotten. It's the most popular BSD if I'm not mistaken, so may be interesting.
#NetBSD also always seemed quite interesting. Maybe I'll try that out for a change. Doesn't seem to have a CoC.
Other than that, #PureOS sounds like a good sensible fully free GNU/Linux-libre distro based on Debian so I might go with that I suppose. Can't find any CoC.
#Dragora is very interesting. It's been developed by one guy for years??? Not sure if it's gonna be as modern and well-maintained as some of the other options though.

The decreased IQ can probably only be observed if the dosage is way too high, right?
My understanding from looking into it a while ago:
1. It was initially a very good thing to put fluoride into lots of things because it massively improved dental health and had no significant side effects.
2. It was then realised that it's not necessary to ingest much fluoride to improve dental health; it's better to apply it directly to the surface of the teeth.
3. Given that most people now brush their teeth, putting enough fluoride directly on their teeth, it's not necessary to put fluoride into foods and drinks anymore.
4. If people consume lots of different fluoridated foodstuffs AND accidentally ingest some from their toothpaste every once in a while, it may become too much and cause them health issues.
Based on these factors, it sounds like it may be a good idea to stop fluoridation of tap water (that people drink) in some places, and make sure there are options with and without fluoride when it comes to bought foodstuffs, so they can make their own choices and make sure they get enough but not too much fluoride.
E.g. in Germany we have table salt with and without fluoride, marked clearly on the packaging. We don't have anything else that's fluoridated.
In any case, it's all not that big a deal, really. The panic some people create over the matter, talking about it like a conspiracy, is dumb and perhaps distracts from more important issues.

+1 for Nginx for high loads. Ask me about using it as a reverse proxy. I use it as the front-end on everything I do now. I use it to serve MediaWiki (static files + PHP execution) as well as a reverse proxy to e.g. Wordpress hosted by Apache (couldn't be bothered to make Nginx host it directly).
A really cool thing Nginx supports is caching PHP responses (FastCGI cache), which works great especially if the PHP code produces the appropriate HTTP headers for front-end caching aka "CDN" caching. (Mostly the Cache-Control header IIRC.) So on subsequent requests, Nginx will look up the response from disk instead of calling to the PHP-FPM process again, saving on IPC cost and PHP execution time. And if your system's memory isn't filled with other stuff, the disk cache will of course keep all that in memory, so you're basically using in-memory caching of web responses. I go a step further and put the FastCGI cache into /dev/shm so it won't be purged easily from memory and saves disk I/O.

Sometimes I still randomly think back to when I was cancelled out of the #Guix community (for supporting women's rights) and it reinvigorates my insomnia and gives me light panic attacks.
Then for a moment I feel motivated to do something against it. But then I remember the entirety of "FOSS" is now dominated by the same sexist nonsense, which is "Code of Conduct" documents written by men hostile to feminism, all patting each other on the back telling themselves how good and progressive they are for using a CoC that was written by a dude who doesn't believe sexism exists.
It's actually infuriating. Drive out women, drive out people who care about freedom of expression, drive out neurodivergent people who don't want authoritarian control over their choice of words, and then wonder why Free Software is in shambles and corporations gain ever more control.

I'm not sure he's being reasonable about that tbh. It feels like a similar level of alarmism as "trans genocide" and such.
My understanding is that a bunch of Israeli idiots incited hatred by chanting things making fun of Palestinian children dying, and ripped down a Palestinian flag or something, and then a bunch of Palestinian idiots started hunting them down physically assaulting them, and some innocent Jews were probably caught in the crossfire.
Nobody died as far as I know. I don't know how serious the injuries were and how many people got injured.
I've no doubt that many Palestinians (and other Arabs and Muslims) are very antisemitic though. More so since recent developments. But I'm not convinced there's such a serious threat to Jews in Europe. But maybe I'm wrong.

I agree with the sentiment behind this but wouldn't actually encourage girls to pick physical fights with boys. Least of all boys who are indicating that they are potentially violent misogynists. This has a high risk of ending up extremely badly for the girl.
If there's actually a physical advance from the boy that indicates imminent assault, then sure: A knee to the balls, pepper spray to the face, or keys into his eyes or whatever, before you run away and call for help, may be a good idea, if you can land it. (I don't know much about self defence, but it sounds sensible.)
But if he's just flinging around words, then I think picking a fight will end badly for the girl in the majority of cases. She may even get into trouble with authority because the self defence claim is unlikely to hold.

I actually think Claire's post is, ironically, based in regular racism (against non white people) and sexism (against women).
Why? Let me explain:
1. The noble savage trope:
The poor innocent oppressed non-white people are elevated to the status of angels and saints, rather than being recognised simply as humans, with similar flaws to all other humans.
Notice that OP is white as snow. A white woman performatively shitting on "white women" and thus implicitly mystifying the non-white as inherently more wise, moral, and so on.
Anyone with a basic understanding of world history would know that no ethnic group is devoid of bigotry, warmongering hateful sentiments, and so on. (Which doesn't justify white people colonizing and oppressing them, obviously.)
2. Hatred of "white women" is just basic misogyny:
Especially when it comes from someone who mystifies non-white people as explained above, this vilification of white women is likely to be based on a subconscious view of white women as "default" women, as opposed to "special" women (of color, queer, trans, and so on).
So, the hatred against "white women" boils down to seeing women as undeserving of empathy by default, despite having suffered gruesome sexism throughout history.
They are only deserving of empathy if they are part of some other oppressed minority. Woman is bad by default (when white), and only deserves respect if she can prove to be a victim of something other than "just" misogyny.

In the US, Democrats are slightly more likely to admit a desire to subvert democracy than Republicans.
Most significantly though, both sides perceive the other as being VERY anti-democratic, contrary to fact.
Any attempt to subvert democracy by either side is probably going to be self-justified by claiming that it's to prevent the other side from doing it.
