The Human Engine
An average person eats 1 metric ton (2,200 lbs) of substrate (food) annually. The quality of that substrate matters. Also, how efficiently your body converts that substrate to energy matters. If you're not converting substrate to energy efficiently, you will store it and generally not feel so good. If you're eating the wrong balance of energy based on your current metabolic state, the same will be true.
We have the diet "gurus" on both ends of the spectrum (Carnivore vs Vegan). As well as the exercise "gurus" on both ends of the spectrum (HIIT vs Zone 2). What I rarely see are conversations that address both and discuss the customization needed based on a person's current metabolic state. Huge difference between the actions that need to be taken depending on this factor. The Human Engine is only as good as its build. Building takes A LOT of time/ hard work. There is no shortcut. The influencers and health "gurus" often tout magical diets or attribute issues to mold toxicity or leaky gut, promising a solution they can sell you. But the truth is, without physical adaptations, no diet will work for you. Most of us need to start by building our aerobic base, which isn't a quick fix but yields lasting results when done properly. As you lay this foundation, you'll notice your energy levels rise, your sleep improve, and your clarity of mind sharpen. It's about dialing in your macros to match your metabolic starting point and ensuring you're getting all your micronutrients. Over-nourishing while maintaining a slight caloric deficit is key. Remember, there's no gut supplement or vitamin that can replace discipline. It's about the work and time you invest in yourself.

As I've transitioned off the carnivore diet 90 days ago to a more rounded approach I feel AMAZING!
I regularly had bloodwork done while on the carnivore diet. And at first the only changes were good. But over the course of 2 years things changed. Not just the cholesterol panels but everything took a turn for the worst. Triglycerides were sky high, ferritin sky high and even glucose was high. After digging into it further I now have logical explanations for all of these things. (I will post separately).
Also my resting metabolic rate tanked. I've come to the conclusion that there is no one size fits all diet. Everyone is starting from a different metabolic stage. IMO I am not a good fat oxidizer. I utilize glucose just fine. I'm of the opinion that the first stage of declining metabolic health is the loss of the fat burning. Hence why everyone gets fat before they become diabetic.
By combining a perfect diet, zone 2 training, and strength training I have found the perfect combination for me. I will be sharing my journey here on nostr. Hopefully it's insightful for some struggling with what I also struggled with.
