well both those use cases are very different though, social theorists do analyses and research, the manifesto itself was a political party's call-to-action specifically aimed at factory workers and labourers in general. There's lots of pamphlets and manifestos from other socialists at the time as well.

it should not be this difficult to find out how to install something in something that's a package manager! it should not be this confusing to then have to find out that the method that they provide that's similar to stuff like yum and apt is actually NOT the way they've designed the package manager to be used! it took me like 5 hours to actually find arguments online that pointed me to the correct method and how configuration.nix actually even works!

Spent a good amount of time with Nix now and wow is it stupid and irritating.
Sure, I still think it's the next big thing coming to dev projects, but the core team seems to actively abhor logical easy-to-adopt design and make shit roundabout and difficult. Incredibly bad learning curve, high barrier of entry.
Not to mention the documentation, or how fucking bad it is.

decided to get into linux again. Wanted a simple nice OS to play around with, and ElementaryOS had always intrigued me as a good distro to recommend anyone else, so i installed it on a VM. seemed cool.
two weeks later, i started the VM and the screen straight up goes black after i login.

The BIGGEST THING developers don't talk about when it comes to big MNCs investing in GenAI - and they should talk more about it! - the successful projects WE work on for the company are funding their GenAI investments.

Finally listened to Solar Power by Lorde. Most of what I heard about it was wrong! This is an album about positivity, but it's not a happy album - she's doing therapy on it, trying to move on from the fame, cracking dark jokes about the worst people she's met on the way. A lot of it ends up being minimalist as a result, simple guitars and occasional drums backing a lot of melancholy - that's the main difference, i think, the music itself. Liability wouldn't feel out of place on here.
