For my understanding of SSD, the life expectancy is given for rewrites of the sectors. For a Bitcoin node you are only going to write them once never erase.
An HDD being spinning 24/7 for years... The life expectancy is given by hours running independently if they are writting or not.
Power consumption and noise defenitely weight a lot in this ecuation.
The chain is already 1TB so imagine average 2MB blocks, a 2TB drive has space for 500.000 blocks, you have 9 years. If the blocks are full of pics then 4 years of space.

One of the root causes of the current system that rottens everything from politics to science common to every country and independent of any government, it's the fractional reserve banking.
This non sense system allows the creation money by private corporations. Because this money is free gets allocated in the wrong places and investments, places were nobody will ever put their hard earn money, leading to the economic cycles of expansions and recessions, where wealth gets transferred from the middle class to people holding hard assets, making the gap bigger after every cycle.

Absolutely. I used to make my own bread, pizzas and pastas. Where Im from we have a saying: " a meal without bread is not a meal".
I wanted to do the experiment of going carb free for a month just to try, and now I'm not going back. Realized the deliciousness of the carbs was the addiction.
Suddenly I started to feel more focus (like a lot), my "gas emissions" got reduced in a 90%😂, and I improved my sleep.
Would you trade feeling infinite better 24h a day for the 3 minutes "of pleasure" it takes to it a carb meal?

Interesting... I guess the rumors come from the paper linked below. I took a quick look so far. Initial conclusions are:
- the authors seem legit with no conflict of interest in the funding of the study.
- The concern is Ni and Cr leaking to the food. (We need to check if the amounts are relevant or just trace)
- Seems like the "problem" starts after 6hours of cooking.
- The amount leaked varies a lot depending on the grade of the stainless steel.
My personal view then, is that there is no cookware that won't leak something. Probably is a choose your bad type of situation.
