Incentives are positive though it is true that it could be biased and centralized. It is a good idea, as you mention, to brainstorm possible ideas that could avoid some of the pitfalls.
Perhaps some kind of a transparent curation process by multiple curators to try to reduce bias.

Also you would need a way to verify the npub belongs to you, without increasing risk of key loss

1. Programming
What is a conference without strong programming attuned to current developments within FOSS communities? A community wide effort, led by @npub1j8y…vrvg , and supported by so many others. Thank you to all who suggested topics and to every speaker who took up the mic to let your voice be heard.
A computer programmer by heart and trade, @npub1j8y…vrvg's background gives him the inner know-how of the kind of agenda programming happening, as nostr grows. He knows the faces behind nostr clients, but you may not know his face. He cares deeply about privacy, so when you see him, he's often shielded behind his hat, dark glasses and bandana. He'll be leading the way for an open community-built-agenda for the next unconference. 🙌
2. Permanence
Programming must reach the audience through AV and have a permanent home in nostr.world's library. What is also permanent, aside from his love of cats 🐱, is @npub1pap…8t4n's friendly face and clear strong voice guiding you through the process of setting up your talk. As he puts it: "Want to do an unscheduled demo of an ASIC miner in the middle of the jungle?" He's got your back. 4. Design
We live in a world filled to the brim with creativity. We see it in the nostr protocol and its many clients, each catering to their niche audiences in hopes of encouraging deeper human connections.
The glue between those connections is often the job of design. We see it in UX/UI improvements. We see it in the possibilities of shaping details at conferences. We get it in that "aha" moment where you understand why something was built and why it matters.
Design can create an atmosphere so conversations can happen. Its many mediums from websites to t-shirts can build bonds and tell stories. It can represent ideas in simple ways so people can understand and identify with their meaning. I'm hoping we can expand on building bridges between art, music, education, and freedom.

@npub1p2a…hhru @npub1ejx…t3tv Misa & @npub1cd6…w96r were the leaders on the ground, bringing volunteers together for numerous tasks, but also encouraging local culture and paying attention to the long to-do-list. hugs.

Nostr does not stand alone as an open protocol. It is not a silo. It has always been an open network. Its foundational principles are a core strength, drawing-in people whom understand and appreciate them: Freedom tech lovers.

@npub1sg6…f63m brought up a good point during Nostrasia's closing remarks; as we look beyond #Nostrasia, nostr.world conferences can encompass more than nostr...diving deeper into a #freedom foundation. To look beyond the Nostr can mean strengthening and forging new community bonds while taking in a 360 view of freedom and the freedom technologies surrounding it. We may discover new avenues for these technologies to interact and support each other, while empowering people across the globe. We can reimagine what it means to be free.
Nostr's already shaping new ways of freeing content creators, interacting with the bitcoin network through zaps. Private communication developers, like @npub1exv…d828 are looking into ways of extending each other's network effects by adding value to people’s communication layers. By bridging different technologies with overlapping values and principles, can we help make a stronger support net for freedom?
Human beings have fought for their freedom throughout history. As our world evolves, the freedoms we need evolve with us. Technology has opened new doors to individual empowerment, but technology is a tool, guided by the hands of its creators. Technology can be used to free and empower people, but it can also give power to a few who exercise centralized control, often through unethical practices.

Nostr is opening avenues for self-expression...
Participating in Nostr Cypher #NC9 was a unique speedy music challenge. You get a beat/arrangement early on Friday, you need to send your vocals by Sunday. It is music in high gear.
I spend most of my Sunday composing a few rap verses. Voice tired from composing out loud, I quickly record them and send them in, deleting and rewriting in the process.
Can a creative journey spark through a challenge? I've been a dormant rapper, could I retap into that creative flow? Could I compose verses to a beat? In the past, I've free-styled to compose, arrangements later. I don't know what rhymes, I hear how the words sound, that's my rhyming dictionary. What would I write about? Although it was clear that #bitcoin and #nostr would make it into the verses, I had no idea what my mind would draw from. Music is a bit of a mystery, even to the composer.
Could I do this in time? Uploading to @npub1ste…mul5 was faster than I thought, I’ve yet to dive into @npub1yfg…v6vg , but I'm still sending the files in past the midnight deadline. By early Monday we could already hear a final mix of the song with extra effects on everyone's vocals.
Could #NostrCypher have a weekly topic to write about? Open music means anyone could compose about anything happening in their lives and roaming in their minds. Perhaps having a weekly goal could help when blending different perspectives.
#NC9 was a good test, in a supportive community environment, but it was tough. Although I may sporadically drop in a couple of verses to future nostr cyphers, I'd like my personal music journey to be different, to take its own time.
I don't think we can yet imagine how nostr is reshaping music and opening doors to new possibilities. Eager to see more of the creativity happening in #nostrmusic and future nostr cyphers. Grateful to all.

**sarcasm!?** Is it possible that platforms did not pick up on markdown early on because of technical limitations, as opposed to people not finding markdown useful?
#nostr encourages self expression. It doesn't have a character limit. It is beginning to show signs of replacing something like blogging and medium, especially if people can get lightning zaps directly on each post.
You are already seeing people use markdown, that is why you are seeing it break in some nostr clients. Could it be one of those "good problems" to have, because it signals where the people of nostr want to take their thoughts?
Would it not be better to try to encourage clients to adopt markdown, instead of removing it? Is it not worth it to open a door to creative expression, even if right now it seems a little broken? It's fixable.
