And here is end product. All was awesome. We do have organic San Marzano tomatoes locally, but not quite the same as ones in soil of Vesuvius. Also flour in US is different, I can get a match when I buy imported Italian or French flour, but I didn't have any on hand. Need imported olive oil and peccorino also to get the last little A+ instead of an A.

Kids had a blast. I jumped part of the time, but my body/legs and brain don't quite match in what they think they can do anymore. Josh there is a leather shop in toledo i took some boots to for restitching, family owned, real small cobbler shop. If you call ahead they might be able to Stitch on the spot if youre in Toledo at some time. My son has been experimenting with leatherwork in the last couple years, he may be able to do a small job. We were just at Edison for track and I wanted to check out place, but I drove the bus so couldn't leave.

I get the analogy BUT, if that is true and it cracked that soon, they didn't cut it correctly. All concrete and brick/block walls crack. Thats why they cut them, it then controls that the crack is straight. Expansion joint and cutting concrete in any state regs. If prep work were bad it would just lead to a really big gap where they should have cut it.

Yep. Our sap runs just over 2% sugar. It is a great treat over that month. Got to do french press or pourover, sap in a coffeemaker could screw something up.

Do I need patents? No. It is a mentality I think. I produce something I enjoy(I know I didn't invent it) I would gladly show someone else how to make it and sell it side by side. Teaching them as my neighbor taught me. He never cared I would sell at the same market. I take my syrup serious. Are there all kinds of shortcuts to take in maple syrup. (Yep, thats a different rabbit hole) mine is good because I make it to share, keep it traditional over fire, and make a little for supplies and expanding the next year. We tapped 50 walnut a few years ago. Syrup is great, like nothing Ive tasted. But it was too much work compared to maple. Bark was thick, didnt give as much sap, ratio is 85 to 1, and too keep it separate from the maple boil was extra. We got 1.25 gal. I put in small glass bottles and we pull 1 out of the freezer each christmas. Great experiment but not again for us.

I've made a couple sales on Shopstr, and haven"t pushed hard yet, but relays can still be an issue. Even if you have your relays figured out an running smooth, not all people do yet. It has led to missed messages and/or confusion. Same with just PM ing. I usually see it more with people with less than a year on Nostr.

Law says 180, mine is boiled (219 for maple), filtered hot and bottled above 200. These are sugarhill jugs. A little more expensive, they say they have special lining. I do mason jars on request but it is time conduming and there is lead time. I just dont have time.

More people each year. My sisters handmade tallow soap year-round, my homemade maple syrup usually sells out in a few months. I should have it ready to sell Sats for Syrup next week.

Its freezing at night, thaw and sunny in day. Say 25 degli. Night, 38 sunny day. When trees start to bud the weather may be good but sap/syrup will be bad. Also if its getting too warm in day sap is like milk. Keep it 35 degrees and its good, 60 for a day and its bad. Once you tap you have 4 weeks till the tree will heal enough and stop giving sap. Sap comes in runs, nothing for a few days and then will fill a 4 gal bucket in a day. Try and find someone in area that does it. They will know when to tap.

I know I am behind on sats for syrup. Had a traditional start this year of last week in feb. (Last 4 years was early at 1st week in Feb.) I have had seasons last 6-8 weeks. This one is only 4, but the sap ran like crazy. 772 taps, around 7500 gal of sap collected, 149 gal of syrup. I had hard time keeping up. Sats for Syrup coming, my best year yet. Any new followers, I ran out last year in 4 months, get those bitcoin wallets ready.

State or canada. Give me an area so I can check your weather. My season was 4 weeks long this season. I've had longer but sap ran great. Higher lattitudes may be in season still. If you still have a season left ill send you some old taps and fill you in. If no season left well get you set for next year.

Where are you and how many trees you thinking. Im in Ohio and my season will be done this week. If you are just starting and thinking 20-30 trees i can give ideas. Started with 10 in 2012, tapped 772 this year.
