Why mutual aid is better than giving to charity (a few of many reasons):
- your money has the most impact on someone's reality if you give it directly to them. none goes into overheads, processing, payroll, marketing, etc
- real people right now have dire problems that cash can instantly solve
- your community (the place where you belong, not a distant separate place) improves and so your life benefits
- people's lives, when you boil down all the world's problems, are the highest priority

I live in my own mind so thoroughly that my existence in the real world is constantly a surprise to me.
I have thousands more thoughts and experiences in my mind per second than I could ever express. Sometimes that's super frustrating, & I wish I could write better to share some of it.
Sometimes I don't notice the divide between *in here* and *you all out there*, because I'm over here living in my mind! I'm busy!
But the disconnect still remains, whether I'm cognizant of it or not.

I truly think the way we're going to survive the next few months, years, and on is by creating and leaning on small communities.
Create a huge chosen family if you can, and then do everything you're able to support them while they support you. Distribute wealth, share spoons, share your heart and uplift theirs.
Shake up what you thought society was supposed to be, live in each other's houses, move to the same neighborhood, etc.
Humans are meant to be together. Capitalism needs us apart.

My absolute favorite fidget toy, if I am lucky enough to be granted access from a sleepy trusting kitty, is a kitty paw 🐾
I like to extend the claws gently. They have a nice tension to them.
The beans are soft and warm and squishable.
The fur is often silky soft, especially the little spot on the wrist I guess you would call it, right below the big paw pad. Soooo soft! Perfect place for a human thumb to stroke.

Hey #accessibility folks! I'm creating internal accessibility fundamentals training.
Give me *examples* of why providing accessibility options is important, even if the main demographic ppl *assume* need that option is not historically the group of people who will be using the thing.
Example: Providing an elevator in addition to stairs. Not just for wheelchair users! But for anyone who would benefit from using it, at their discretion, not ours.

Fair warning!
I've noticed because I'm so stressed, my ability to think is negatively impacted. In my opinion I'm a lot more scattered when I communicate. I'm more forgetful and easily confused too.

Had a really rough day yesterday. My ex moved out and I sobbed for hours after he left.
It's crazy how logic has nothing to do with emotions. In a way, I use that knowledge to let emotions pass through like a river.
But these ones really hurt and stem really deep, and I can tell they won't be rooted out any time soon. I might be able to cope a bit better day by day, but the feelings are still in there, very powerful. Able to swell up at any time.

Planning the annual work picnic and the person handling catering is not thrilled about what needs to be done to accomodate food allergies and dietary prefences.
It gets old when people aren't sympathetic to that.
Like yeah, I really don't enjoy having to worry about exactly what is in the food I'm eating either but if I don't it hurts my body! I'm not doing it for funsies! Neither is anyone else who needs this accomodation!

I found an apothecary near my house that is hidden in an industrial part of the city, not easy to see from street view, and when you go inside it's like a hobbit house with curving wooden shelves, crystals embedded into the walls and lit from behind, lizard and snake terrariums nestled into the winding architecture! I am so happy to have found it! Gonna buy all my teas and local honey there now.

I love a workbook (they are fun to me haha) and this one is awesome. I set up my mom and her best friend with it and they are working through it together each week via video chat as a social + mental health activity :) So it's mom-approved as well!

I saw a post here (that I can't find) that kinda changed my life.
It said the best first step to changing the world into a better place is to just stop making fun of people. Ever. For anything. Including in your own thoughts that you may never speak aloud.
I try very hard to do this! it's such a stabler and nicer-feeling foundation to my thoughts and my life. It sheds a mental weight/burden I couldn't see before.
Such a great distilled bit of advice for a big concept!
