Twin A might be autistic. Both of my twins’ therapists have brought it up via concerning patterns and he’s starting to show regressions. I was already wondering because he’s so like my nephew (who is autistic). And our service coordinator for therapy asked if we had looked into neuropsych.
Trying to wrap my head around it. With ballet for all the kids and the boys therapy, it’s been so busy here. We go to 6 dance classes a week.

Our friendship has kinda been on the outs since I had my twins because she disapproves of her friends having more than one child and occasionally two. She’s child free AND also dislikes children, which I mean I’m fine with mostly because I don’t need to mom share with everyone I know, but she can’t handle it. So we’ve become more distant friends.
Additionally, it’s hilarious because it’s totally virtue signaling for her because less than two years ago she was still regularly making fun of trans women we both know who are absolutely awful, cracking jokes about how lame nonbinary shit is, and more privately, all while pretending to give a shit to our joint friends.

Friend posted some bullshit meme about how dancing at 6 causes more permanent changes to your body than puberty blockers and hrt will. Claims doctors can tell when a woman in their twenties danced for a couple of years as a child because it changed their feet so much. Those changes happen to pointe dancers and probably kids wearing too small of shoes. You don’t start pointe until at least 12/13.
I have a 7 year old dancer. Her pediatrician has no idea she’s been dancing since she was 2. Memes full of shit. I danced from 18 months to 6 years old. No one can tell I was a ballet and tap dancer for four years as a child.

Oh definitely true there on the speech thing. We have speech delays on both sides and we were almost referred at their 15 month appointments to early interventions (us program), so we’re definitely more vigilant than most probably. My 3 year old has a ‘severe speech delay’.

Twinnies update: still pretty much non-verbal here (they both only have 3 words), so I’m pretty sure we’re going to speech therapy next month. My 3 year old is also speech delayed and the twins were preemies. They’re also lagging behind developmentally in other areas like fine motor skills and some comprehension stuff, probably cause they’re preemies and one of them already clearly has sensory issues (genetic likely cause I have them too).
They are driving me crazy though. So much climbing, slapping, biting, and falling. Sometimes they’re so sweet and they play together and hold hands, but mostly it’s lord of the flies here. At least no one tells me how much they wish they had twins in public now like so many women did when they were tiny and cute.
Oh and they get the zoomies like my cats used to.

I’m so tired of women I know, who don’t care about women’s sports and are completely un athletically inclined, claiming that anyone who thinks ‘tims in women’s sports are cheating’ are just terfs who don’t care about women’s sports.
Unlike them, I have daughters. My girls dance currently, with one of them in a children’s dance company that does multiple ballets a year. Dance is highly competitive, athletic, and leads to scholarships for a lot of young women too. Of course I’m worried about women’s sports and not just because I’m a terf by their own words.

I don’t know about anyone else, but as a mother of young children, I am constantly being hit with therapy and mental illness based accounts on social media that blame all sorts of mental illness on mothers.
The underlying message is your mother ruined your life by loving you too much, loving you not enough, having emotions, not getting you everything you wanted, etc. It’s literally navel gazing, but I can’t look away and every time I see something related to it, it makes me wonder if I’m destroying my kids’ lives by having expectations, not being extremely gentle in my wording all the time, not parenting by these gentle parenting scripts or whatever else is popular.
I think this trend is extremely damaging to the mental health of women, especially mothers. And doubly so for mothers like me who have anxiety , depression, and neurodevelopmental disorders (or some other issue).
The thing that makes it hit so hard is that it’s coming from other women.

Recently saw a friend admit on Facebook that the bad things involving the queer and trans movement are indeed happening, but they also claimed that the only reason anyone cares about them is because media is warping them into thinking it’s more common than it is and anyway, trans rights you know.

In the most basic terms, yes. Supporting private defense contractors is definitely extremely capitalist. There would be more support for citizens versus company profits (war is very profitable). And a leftist government in my opinion would or should be less capitalist and more focused on its own people. Political left and right definitions tends to be rather thorny when it comes to the US though.

Having a sad day. Ran into my brother and sister in law at a store picking out baby things, they’re expecting their first, and realizing how many things I’ve missed out on because of Covid, twin pregnancy, preeclampsia, and my husband’s absolutely awful mother and sister is just making me really sad.
I’m also working through NICU trauma. My therapist specializes in mothers with adverse outcomes and she’s assured me that what I’ve been feeling as we’ve gotten closer to the twins first birthday is really common. It’s made worse by the fact that none of my in laws to this day understand what the NICU is and what it means when your baby is there. My mil brags to people about the healthy birth of my twins, but both of them were critical at their premature birth.
