Having a sad day. Ran into my brother and sister in law at a store picking out baby things, they’re expecting their first, and realizing how many things I’ve missed out on because of Covid, twin pregnancy, preeclampsia, and my husband’s absolutely awful mother and sister is just making me really sad.

I’m also working through NICU trauma. My therapist specializes in mothers with adverse outcomes and she’s assured me that what I’ve been feeling as we’ve gotten closer to the twins first birthday is really common. It’s made worse by the fact that none of my in laws to this day understand what the NICU is and what it means when your baby is there. My mil brags to people about the healthy birth of my twins, but both of them were critical at their premature birth.
